just read we revisited Josh Freeman & he is once again a Miami Dolphin. why? absolutely, they will not carry three QB's on the 56 man roster. it makes no sense. could it be they've decided to trade Moore to make room for Evan Mathis (not Matthews)? what say you?
56 man roster? And what Matthews are they making room for that was not here previously? Furthermore, we had open roster spots before Freeman's release, so why would we need to move someone to make room for him coming back?
my bad! I meant Evan Mathis @ left guard, not Matthews. I'm talking about when they eventually narrow it down to a final roster...
The Dolphins don't have to cut their roster down for a long time and Josh Freeman is better than Bethel-Thompson. I really think it's that simple. If he beats out Moore, great. Moore is a pretty good backup, so an even better backup would be awesome. I doubt he does, though.
Albert-Mathis-Pouncey-Turner-James ...this is plain & simple: an all-pro LG is worth Moore than a back-up QB the only question here is... do you want to go to the SuperBowl? fix the offensive line. everything begins in the trenches.

the return of Josh Freeman begs the question why return him to the team only days after dismissing him. the Moore/Mathis connection to Freeman is simple enough. QB's are a hot item in the NFL today. Moore is a potential starter, not just a back-up. he has trade value. if Josh was returned at a dolphin-friendly (cheap) contract. the difference in monies between Moore & Freeman could be used in a contract with Mathis. I'm sure Moore would be worth a reasonable draft trade in 2016, as well. might be a smart way to go... pure speculation, the rumor starts with me. if its going to happen, we'll know within the week.
He signed after being cut because of language in the original contract that stated he would have certain money guaranteed if he made it past that date. I don't think you can really count on him as your backup, though at this point. You want to have a good backup quarterback on your team ideally and Moore gives you that. I'm honestly not sure how much the Dolphins would get if they did trade him, though. Moore was a FA, so if anyone really wanted him bad enough, they could have signed him. As far as Mathis goes, the Dolphins can already afford him. It's just up to them to pull the trigger. I know they'd like to save as much as possible to roll over to next year, but if they feel strong enough that Mathis makes a difference, then they should sign him already.
