Albert Nahmed makes a great point..... By making these moves...it ensures that they will get some good camp bodies and might un-earth another gem, because they will have at least 1 spot, up for grabs, with Ennis on the hot seat.
Considering they unearthed Hassan Whiteside out of nowhere, had Willie Reed sitting on their Summer League roster, picked up Josh Richardson and James Ennis in the second round, and arguably got same-or-better production out of guys like Tyler Johnson and Henry Walker last year compared with free agent signings like Danny Green and Shawne Williams...I certainly don't mind the idea of trying to uncover a gem in training camp.
Yep. They have a pretty good track record of doing that. You can even go back a little further and add names like Udonis Haslem, Ike Austin, Anthony Carter, Mike James, and Joel Anthony.
Okay....they really like Josh Richardson it seems. Signed him to new 3 year $2.5mil deal with full 1st year guarantee, and guaranteed past deadline for year 2. In essence...they gave him the MAX deal for a 2nd round pick.
Eric Pincus ✔ @EricPincus James Ennis had the timing on his contract amended - no longer 50% as of 8/1/15 - but full $ if on roster opening night @BBallInsiders 4:34 PM - 27 Jul 2015
He asked him leading questions, and Windy just "went along", as if he hadn't written a bunch of bull**** earlier in the day.
Earlier in the day, he did a Sportscenter hit where he said that Lebron was fine with Mike Miller being traded and that this was nothing like Miller being amnestied in Miami.
Per Tim Reynolds, Heat will play at home on Christmas Day I would presume we'll be playing Cleveland again.
Literally nobody else makes sense for rankings if they are playing on Christmas AT HOME. Team that missed playoffs last year? Yeah, it's Cleveland.
He'll never learn when not to say something. Heat would have to miss the playoffs 5 more times in a row to equal Ross's "record" as owner of the Fins
That they aren't the same organization without Lebron and that south Florida has always been a Dolphins town.
I can almost guarantee you that he hasn't. Either that or one of his minions in Davie gave him an answer that he wanted to hear rather than the truth which is what always happens.
That was actually the question. He was asked about this still being a Dolphins Town despite the tv ratings, etc. There is room for both teams. Don't know why Ross would take a shot, even though I presume he didn't see it that way
What an idiotic thing to do. Cooperation is the best strategy. You increase the pie, don't fight over a slightly bigger slice. A bunch of Dolphins fans are Heat fans, and I doubt they're feeling more fondness for Dolphins management than Heat management. So if you turn this into a divorce, guess which parent the kids are gonna choose.
Ross is a ****ing moron, I love the Dolphins just as much as the Heat but make no mistake, this is every bit a Heat town. The Heat have inspired our youth and is more active with our youth. they are more active with this city overall its ridiculous. I rarely see Tannehill, or anybody in the Dolphins organization do anything for this city except disappoint. We have been relevant before Lebron and the Heat will be relevant again very soon.
This hasn't been a Dolphins town since Dwayne Wade was drafted and especially after that first championship. The Dolphins were simultaneously continuing their decline while the Heat only became more popular. Once we got Lebron and Bosh, and went to four straight titles, we're not going back to the Dolphins becoming anything close to popularity until we get at least to a divisional playoff game. Dolphins' franchise is Arison bound in the future, just wait till Ross croaks. Nick will snatch up the franchise and show Ross how it's done.
Wade is my favorite athlete ever. And that's surprising because football is easily my favorite sport.
I'm more of a 'Phins fan than a Heat fan, but Ross must have had a stop in Colorado on his way to that interview.
Ross had put in so much work this offseason. I really started to genuinely like the guy. Then he puts his foot in his mouth as usual.
If I was an NFL owner I'd be talking **** carte blanche. He has fixed costs and more revenue. Local ratings mean very little to Ross. NFL owners have it made. I love seeing billionaires fight amongst themselves, so a Ross/Arison beef would be great IMO. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
You really wonder how Ross has made so much money with such a penchant for sticking his foot in his mouth. Seriously, what is there to gain from saying that? I'll answer that question: About as much as he had to gain by publicly promising Philbin he'd retain him after squeaking by the Vikings last year.
Ross is right. Nothing he said was untrue. There's more than tv ratings when it comes to who owns South Florida.
Um he isn't right and this isn't the 1980's, so you're wrong there too. You being from New Orleans have no clue what you're talking about.
So, where'd you get the two-way fight from? So far this is just one owner saying stupid things about another team in the market, and the other owner chilling out on a cruise.
He's an absentee owner of his own football team. He couldn't possibly have any clue about someone else's basketball team. This is the guy who was shocked and dumbfounded when fans protested he and Jeff Ireland outside team headquarters in 2012. His finger is nowhere near the pulse of the local fanbase. - posted via Tapatalk -
I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale. Had season tickets from Woodley through Marino. I go home to my parents all the time. Maybe you're right. But I doubt it.
Ethan Skolnick's contract was not renewed by Bleacher Report. Barry Jackson saying that he is a strong candidate to land a permanent hosting gig on 790. Hope he lands on his feet. Great writer/reporter
