We'll take Winslow and whiteside and some contracts. If not, then that's fine you guys can go after Durant next year
I didn't realize you worked in the front office. Didn't you say a few days ago LA wasn't going anywhere?
Not if the Heat trade that money elsewhere. Then he's free to sign and Portland gets nothing. I'm not saying Whiteside won't be part of it, but I don't think Portland has much leverage here.
By the way, Riley wins again. No longterm deal, and all they had to do was give him an extra $4M this year. Perfect.
Yeah if they trade those players they will have leverage. But until then..... And who's gonna take those contracts?
They're all valuable. Not only are they productive players, but expiring contracts are extremely valuable in the NBA. Luke Ridnour was traded 4 times because his expiring contract is so valuable as a trade asset.
I think CK is still too used to the Dolphins getting hit in the face with a rake in free agency all the time.
McRoberts obviously has value on that cheap contract. GSW have been reportedly pursuing RIO hotly. Bird and Deng are expiring contracts. Basically these are all good, valuable pieces. If Portland isn't interested there will be no shortage of suitors. Portland is really the least important player here.
If Aldridge joins without losing Whiteside then it's a wrap and Lebron will get his wish about losing in the playoffs instead of the Finals
@WojYahooNBA: Beyond Blazers, only contender for Aldridge that he's clear about organization, about role for him: Spurs. Everyone else, still questions.
This team, man. Wow. Now I can't wait for the season to start. I don't expect the LMA thing to come through, but even then I mean: Dragic, Wade, Bosh, Whiteside, Winslow, Deng, McBob, Rio maybe.
Personally I would take that over anybody in the East and I love the top three reserves of McRoberts, Winslow and Rio. I think if we add another shooter to that then I'm thrilled with that roster. That's what makes me hesitant about LA. My uncertainty is obviously that LA is really good, but we'd lose a ton of depth. In that case we'd have Dragic, Wade, Winslow, LA and Bosh with maybe Whiteside and ??? for depth. I still see that as the best starting group in the East so neither choice is horrid. I just don't know. But I trust in Riley either way.
