Ugh why would anyone want to help the spurs get Aldridge. Especially Cleveland who could be potentially playing spurs in the finals
Lebby saying that Heat prepared in their words to be "more than fair" with Wade based on his market, meaning they will overpay, but they will not give up flexibility for 2016. There are a number of ways to get there and all will be presented to Wade. Heat flat out saying that he will not leave because of money. they will absolutely pay more than anyone else can or will. If he leaves, its ego.
The Cavs can only take back picks. Any deal that brings in a player that puts you above the apron, makes the trade illegal.
The rumor is that James is pushing/(demanding?) that the cavs sign Tristan to a max or near max deal. He has the same agent as James. This feels like a test for Gilbert or a power play by James. "Pay my guys what I want (and the luxury tax) or I may leave".
Pelicans offering Davis a contract worth 5 year 143 million.. the guy is good but wow... imagine what Lebron can get..
Anthony Davis is only 22 though, and he's just not good, he's really really really good. He's future multiple MVP caliber player.
Varejao is a $10mil/yr cheerleader. Doubt he provides much use anymore. Diaw is another name to watch.
Are you sure? I thought that only was true in a sign & trade. Edit: From the Larry Coon Q&A - Starting in 2013-14, teams cannot receive a player in a sign-and-trade transaction (see question number 91) if their team salary is above the apron at the conclusion of the trade.
These guys are going to make a lot more money than you think they will. Teams have money to spend and many of them know they won't ever be a real player for the big names and have to sell tickets by making signings. Look at the deals Chandler Parsons, Marcin Gortat, Avery Bradley, Jordan Hill, and Channing Frye signed last year. None of them (with maybe the exception of Gortat) deserve those deals, but those teams had money to burn and it was a relatively weak market. This year it's just as weak, maybe weaker when you consider it's lack of depth after the 3 big names. Also, the Cavs realistically might not have even gotten to the finals without Thompson. His offensive rebounding was HUGE for them, and might have been the difference in the Bulls series. They're going to have to pay up for him.
Everyone with eyeballs says Anthony Davis will be the best basketball player on the planet in a year or two. If we can lock him up for the next five years, I expect more than one Finals appearance. I bought Pels season tickets just to watch him. Any basketball fan would do the same when given this opportunity to true watch greatness emerge.
Smith says he personally spoke with Wade a few days ago so this is pretty definite. He also said Wade and Gabrielle Union met with Pat Riley last night.
some team will get that Haywood contract.. Doubt we help the Cavs but I can see the Rockets trading Ariza to the Cavs if they think they can land a major free agent.
