You can argue about Delly dirty or not until you are blue in the face. Fact is, he tried this **** nearly every series - intentional or not. All I know that that Draymond Green will murder him if he tries that **** on Steph.

Tale as old as time. If you are rooting for the Cavs you call his play "scrappy" and "tough", if you aren't a fan of Cleveland be is a dirty P.O.S.

As Dolphins fans we have a DT who we will go through the same stuff with. When he puts a lil something extra in that sack of Tom Brady we will love it, flag or not. And everyone else will call him a dirty cheat.

Nah, we won't. Suh is dirty, and we know that. It's okay to admit that and still root for the guy because he got our colors on.

Here's the 3 plays Delly has been involved in this playoffs.

Gibson: Watch Gibson pop Delly twice and then shove him down before the "leg lock" that initiated Gibson kicking him.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=85&v=H1j1S1wKiec

Korver: Delly seems to think they're both going to dive on the ground so he turns his body so that it won't be a jump ball. Korver just sort of reaches for it instead of diving.

    http://streamable.com/k6wr

Horford: I feel like I see the white dress, cuz I don't see what Delly did here. He's being pulled by the arm and is going over-top of Carroll. I get that he leg-locked Gibson. I get that he dove right at Korver's feet. I don't see this one being on Delly at all.

    https://streamable.com/y46n

I'm kind of blown away Horford didn't get any further discipline. He more or less swung at a dude. JR just missed 2 for that.

Delly is not dirty. He is reckless. Reckless looks like "dirty" and must be dealt with.

Problem is that Horford got ejected, Gibson got ejected...D12 did not. Be consistent NBA.

Al Horford is one of the most well liked players in the NBA. Mild mannered. For him to snap?

The Gibson one was the worst. Taj Gibson essentially did nothing and got ejected.

Yeah I totally agree - but go back and look at what he did and then confirmed he did in the post-game? He swung at a dude on the court. JR (rightfully) got 2 games for that already this post-season.

Also not sure how you deal with reckless. Look at that Korver play - it's a loose ball on the ground he dove and recovered. Like - do you tell guys not to do that? Korver NOT diving for a loose ball is kinda what got him hurt.

(Yes, I realize how much of a homer I sound like - but seriously go back and look at the play.)

((And yes, I thought the Olynyk play was dirty - but more because he was specifically torking Love's arm - not going for a ball.))

Delly's history is more than these few games Phin-).

There is a reason some of us call him Delladadumbass. He crosses that line between dirty/reckless. I don;t think he is dirty, but some of his BS is unnecessary.

Whether he's dirty or reckless it doesn't really matter. It's still really bad and should be dealt with in some way. These guys knees are their livelihood and when you continue to dive at their knees without giving a **** that is a problem. What happens if he does that to Curry and puts him out of the Finals?

If only PJ Brown could come out of retirement just to flip this guy into the stands.

Well, for him it is completely necessary. Because it's the only reason he's in the NBA (not the dirty stuff - the over-the-top energy stuff.)

    But I get your point.

Except in order to continue and dive at someone's knees you'd have to do it in the first place.

Silly me. I guess I'm the only one who thinks he's doing that. It's not like MANY, MANY players, fans, and analysts seem to see it as well. I guess it was someone else who injured Korver when he went barreling into his knees and some other player that did the same to Horford leading him to react the way he did.

Something Knicks and Heat fans can agree on :ffic:

sometimes cheap players need a good knee to the face. If I was Kyle Korver and someone did that to me you'd be missing a few chiclets from this knee. I agree he's cheap. I hated Bruce Bowen for that same bs. Bowen would stick his foot right where a jump shooter was going to land and I forget who fractured or sprained an ankle. Someone like that I would DESTROY on their way to the basket. There's just no room for that so if someone's going to do that I'm all for teaching a lesson. Some people need that.

Yes you obviously are silly. Horford drug Delly eight to ten feet away from the hoop and after he tripped over Carroll he fell into Horford. He didn't dive at his damn knee.

He also dove for a lose ball and Korver chose not to do the same, instead only bending down for it. Delly didn't dive at the knee, he dove for the ball. If Korver actually leaves his feet and puts out the effort he almost assuredly doesn't get hurt. And it was his ankle that got rolled up, he isn having knee surgery tomorrow.

So yes, you an lots of people are absolutely being silly.

MANY, MANY fans, analysts, and players see the opposite from you as well. And even if they didn't the majority isn't always right. I am sure Kenny Smith and Reggie Miller opening their mouth bigger than anyone else had no bearing on the common fans opinion.

    Crept this Knick fan.

U.S. Ohio folks have an unparalleled loyalty that runs inside of us. LeBron has never forgotten his roots and loves this state we both call home. He won me over with his speech about LIFE when Miami beat the Spurs in '13, the dude is undoubtedly a premadonna but his passion to lift an entire region is hard not to root for.

That being said they are likely overmatched, a healthy Love and maybe I'm singing a different song but it is what it is.

Yeah he never forgot his roots...except for those 4 years in Miami.

And I'd say southerners and New Yorkers are pretty damn loyal to their roots. Never lived on the west coast or Midwest so I can't speak to that as much. I'm not sure I'd call Phil's loyalty to Lebron unparalleled when half the city was burning Lebron jerseys a few years ago. Maybe YOU have a significant loyalty to Ohioans but I wouldn't call it a majority.

Can't blame a young kid for wanting to see what the S.Florida life is all about. It's what he called it....college. Except he made a fortune and won rings.

I'm not saying only Ohioans are loyal, but IMO it's on a different level. LeBrons letter can explain it better than I can.

Either way, Heat fans don't want to hear this shnit...lets go ahead and start predicting the finals.

Yeah loyalty....thats the first thing I think of when I think of Lefraud :smartass: Dude cant win unless he assembles the best players with him. My disdain for that fraud grows by the day. the entire NBA should be hoping Phil or someone knocks him off his perch

Booker will be Miami's pick IMO. I've watched him against Wisconsin and Notre Dame and he looks good as 3 and D guy. 3rd highest scorer on the team even if playing off the bench behind established guards in the Harrison twins. Also consider that the team is loaded in talent. He's got a smooth shot that releases high. Shoots like 41% on 3s. He comes off screens and locates space really well for jump shots. He also runs the court well in transition. He's not a half court driver but you have Wade and Dragic for that. His defense is good. He always uses his feet staying in front of his guy.

He's a lot more ahead of Oubre. Oubre needs more developing IMO so I'm not really high on him. The other guy I like though is Jerian Grant. Grant is a senior who is ready for the NBA now. He's a true play maker who can play both 1 and 2. He is a more uptempo guy than Booker and is a good defender but he's not as consistent as a 3pt shooter. Shot 30% last season but 40% the previous season from outside I think. Booker is the type of guy you need to help the team spread the court and when Wade misses games from injuries.

Assembles the best players with him? You mean like every champion in the last 25 or so years except the recent Pistons, and arguably Dwayne Wade in his 1st championship.

Pretty much no one wins a championship without a HoF player and another All-star (or multiple all-star) level player, or multiple HoF players.

"The best" players around him? Sounds like your distain is kicking in. If you can't see the loyalty in what he did then God bless ya.

Let me be the first to congratulate Cleveland and Bron...I called a finals trip the day he returned, he is that great (or I knew he would acquire the best players in a trade like Shump n JR, lol) but the road ends here, they would need a godly performance to beat the Warriors. Won't happen IMO, but if ANYONE can defy the odds? It's a kid from Northeast, Ohio.

I didn't think the Cavs would make the finals this year based on how the team was when the season started. Too many new pieces, needed experience together, and more playoff experience IMO. The JR Smith/Shump trade, and the Mozgov trade really pushed us over the hump. I was very skeptical that they could pull so many new pieces together. Great job Blatt and Griffin.

One of only two rookie coaches (with Riley being the other) getting two sweeps.

Something meshed well with those guys, it's unprecedented really. They were undoubtedly the best team in the East from that point on. One can only hope they play out of their minds next week and have a chance.
