Whoever crushed Jackson is clearly uninformed. Its in his agreement that he wouldnt be working out of NY and for the most part that he wouldnt be traveling with the team. Hes not a coach anymore. He has scouts. His job is to create structure and culture while improving the talent level. In order to get better in the NBA you have to get worse. The talent at 4 is much better then it would be at 12 or 14 where they probably would have been if they hadnt traded Tyson. Whats really funny is hes getting bashed here because he encouraged the team to play hard over the last two weeks. For most of the year they had the worst record in the league. Last 2 weeks they go 3-3 and Phil gets bashed. Media cant make up their damn mind. I like Winslow a lot. You'll get no complaints from me if we pick him. Hes a strong compliment for Melo. Id much rather have a wing player that can defend and shoot then a PG. If Phil thinks Mudiay can play off the ball, Id trust hes seen more of Mudiay then I have but I think hes another ball dominant PG with limited range. Winslow could be another Pippen or Leonard type wing player that does everything well. I dont like Duke but Im a fan of Justise and at 6'6" he could be a 2 guard in the NBA which is valuable because aside from Wade, Harden and 3-4 others there are no good ones.
I still don't think the Heat will use the pick. I think they'll package the pick and McRoberts for some veteran player. But, if they do use it, I like Devin Booker and Stanley Johnson.
Look at that whale Windhorst hating on Curry for bringing his kid to the post game presser because "us media people want to ask questions about the game and we can't when players bring their kids." Just when I thought I couldn't like him any less....
What a tool. What questions was Curry unable to answer or were reporters unable to ask him with her there? She may have been a (adorable) distraction to viewers, but Curry answered all the questions asked like a pro as if she weren't even there. I agree with Serpico. I don't see anything that he brings to the table. How he has a job with ESPN is beyond me.
The NBA really restricts how much availability the media has to players. Bringing their kids out to the podium is kind of a loophole for players to not really have to take it all that seriously. I mean - I enjoy seeing the kids out there, but I get the media's point. They get maybe a minute in a scrum before the game, same after, and then the podium. A lot of players seem to skip out on at least one of those. Or look at it this way - Ethan Skolnik has been talking all year about how hard it is to be on the road 15-20 nights a month with a newborn at home. If a player brings his kid out to the podium - you know you aren't getting anything good so it's just a waste of everyone's time. Why make Skolnik sit out in the media area and waste his time instead of just go home. I get both sides of it - from a fan's standpoint it's fun to see the players with their kids - but if it were your job to work long hours and be away from your family and then you can't even get players to take it seriously in the limited time you have with them, that would be pretty frustrating.

By the looks of it, I would say a stack of pancakes smothered in chocolate chips and syrup, a side of sausage, Bacon, a piece of caramel cheesecake, and a double fudge shake.
I am busy as hell, but I am going to make time to give a detailed evaluation of each player before the draft.
I watched a few games of Justise Winslow today. If the Knicks stay at four this is a no brainer choice if KAT, Okafor and Russell are gone. His ceiling is excellent as the consummate glue guy who does a little of everything and a lot of defending. In watching this I've determined the Knicks are going hard after Gasol this offseason and KD next offseason. Mix in Winslow and a PG...Beast team.
One thing I left out of my last post....one player I really like at 10ish would be Trey Lyles. He's going to be a very solid David West (in his prime) like player in this league for a long time. Every team needs that gritty big who can play with his back to the basket. Lyles can do that and may have NBA range on his 3 in due time. If my Knicks were picking at 10 I'd want them to be all over Lyles. I like him more then the guard options there and most of the euro-stash options there.
I see him as a safe option that fills an immediate need, but will probably never be more than a 3 and D role player. There's nothing wrong with that, but I think there will be guys there with big time upside. It just depends on whether you want to take the risk on upside or make your team better now.
Turns out Devin Booker paid for Synergy to begin to study how to defend Guards and Wings in the NBA. Like him already.
He compares himself to Klay Thompson and models his game over him. Anyways as far as the cavs/hawks game goes, atlanta looks good but you just get the feeling the Cavs havent given them their best shot yet and come out with a win..
Actually, his upside is one of the reasons I favor him. He just doesn't have elite athleticism upside. I think he's the youngest player in the draft and already has a great feel for the game. I see upside in that. I like his size and he's arguably the best 3 pt shooter in the draft. I think that he'll contribute as a shooter immediately since we have all these slashers and penetrators. And I think that he's a smart enough player to not be a defensive liability early on. He strikes me as a guy who works on his game b/c he never seems to be out of position. On the downside, he's not one of those that plays above the rim and I don't he'll ever be one of those that can defend 4 positions. As VL mentioned, there's the Klay Thompson comparison. I really see that level of player as a good and realistic get with the 10th pick in the draft.
The other guy I like so far is Oubre. He's more of an upside pick, he has that athleticism where he might become an elite wing defender which is something Riley always wants. He's not as good of a 3 pt shooter as Booker, but good. I don't think his basketball IQ is as high as Booker's, but his individual defensive upside might trump that if he can learn.
This is a deep as hell draft, the Knicks having the 4th pick will land them a very good player.. so I don't understand the overreaction lol maybe because yeah they did obviously tank, but eh... theyre still getting a damn good player .. everyone in the Top 10 is... the issue with the Knicks is, can they trust Fisher to develop that player?
I watched about 20 Kentucky games this year. Booker is a smooth, sweet player. Great shooter, can drive to the hole with ease and moves well on defense. He can create his own shot and comes off screens well. The Klay Thompson comparions are not far off. Ps- Twolves would be crazy not to pick Karl Anthony Towns.
This is what I was talking about earlier... Atlanta looked good but the fact that Cleveland was sticking around... you just knew they were still in their first gear..

I fell asleep at the half and just woke back up...looks like Atlanta couldn't maintain that insane shooting percentage from early on. It's a shame for the peeps in Cle that Kelly Olynek is a dirty red head and hurt the third leg of the big 3...they would have a very real shot at beating GS in the finals.
Atlanta will only go as far as Kyle Korver and Dennie Schroeder take them. Korver has to give them more then he did tonight. He's gotta keep shooting 3's and not put the ball on the floor. If he's only gonna take 5 shots he may as well come off the bench cause he's not in there for his defense. Milsap gonna milsap and Horford is a beast.
Pretty sure Windy has a fairly serious medical condition that forces him to stay on a type of steroid all the time - thus the weight gain. When he was with the ABJ I feel like there was a pretty big scare that he might not make it. I just always try to relay this story to people when I see fat jokes about him so they don't have a "KG mocking Charlie V's eyebrows" moment.
Haha so one time back in LeBron's first Cavs stint I was at a bar downtown and Craig Sager is there. He's got a tucked-in polo-shirt, dad jeans, and bright white sneakers. Total uncool Dad look going on. It's a trendy bar with mostly an under 30 crowd. He's standing at the bar next to a couple of bar girls who couldn't be older than 24. I say "Hey Craig! Hope you enjoy your Cleveland stay!" Just trying to be nice. He looks at me like I just insulted his mom and goes, "Yeah, ok." Totally condescending. Like patting a child on the head and saying "nice job" after they fall on their face. The worst. Then the turns around and goes back to flirting with the blonde girls. Hated that ******* ever since. But now he's sick and everyone's doing #SagerStrong or whatever and I look like an ******* for talking trash on him for the last 5 years.
So turns out Sager is a jackass I mean, you kind of got to be if you think most of those suits are a good idea.
I have less issue with Fisher then most. I think he did a fantastic job last year given the predicament and he did well developing guys like Langston Galloway, Cole Aldrich, Alexey Shved and Lance Thomas. They arent all star level talents but theyre good bench guys in my opinion. The biggest challenge for any rookie coming to the Knicks will be learning the triangle offense. Basketball is supposed to be played that way but its not taught this way at lower levels because coaches are either too lazy or too inclined to let players play the dribble-drive style that perpetuates isolation style or drive and dish style basketball. That style offense also requires the player to have fundamentals (Dribble, Pass, Shoot, etc) and the ability to play without the ball that other offenses may not require you to have all of.
I'm no doctor, but I find it hard to believe there is a steroid out there that makes you THAT fat. I have heard of people being overweight due to different drugs, but the guy is easily over 300 lbs. I don't think that's steroids alone.
Even if it were entirely steroids related, and he really did have a medical condition, taking shots at Windhorst is totally justified based on his history of taking shots at everyone else. You get what you give.

It's early, but I kind of get the same vibe with Oubre that I got with DeVante Parker to the Dolphins. A skill-set to really fall in love with; big upside; and strengths matching what Miami is looking for. You also have already heard the connections to him like you did early with Parker to the Dolphins.
