No...you want to win this league...**** PFF....what you need is this: Oh...and a really good one of these as backup:
Wait WAIT ......I need to call someone before we start voting: never know what might come up in the next few hours.
Not sure it matters, but PFF ratings won't sway my vote (unless there is overuse in which case I may ding you for over-reliance).
And as far as injuries to draft picks go, I am sure most people won't negatively rate a draft class due to post-draft injuries, but I certainly could see how it might affect someone's opinion of the team. That's not a negative on the GM, it's just bad luck sometimes. If I drafted Mariota (for example) at #2, and planned on him being my starter, if he went down with serious injury, I'd not expect anyone to think my team would do well this season if my backup were Matt Barkley (again, for example). You can carry that logic over to any player and gauge how much their loss hurts the production of a team vs the replacement. Now that doesn't mean that GM didn't have the best season, but there are other awards to look at which it might affect. Similarly, I'm not going to knock BK's pick of Collins just because he went undrafted, as it was out of his control.
It's no biggie, I'm not going to change my vote for Jacksonville. Basically anything that happens after the draft has no affect on my voting. They killed the draft and just because their rookies happen to get season ending injuries after the fact won't change my opinion of their class or roster. Also we might as well have a 'Best of PFF team' because so many people obviously use that to build their teams.
lol...we didnt, not sure if that was a good or a bad thing. I think you can kinda get lost in the numbers with PFF
I think PFF is good but only for certain things. Notably the secondary and OL where it would be hard to convey how good a player is otherwise. I agree that it tends to be overused though, I might have even done it myself some lol.
I wouldn't dock you because you draft a player who randomly gets injured when they have little to no injury history beforehand and I dont believe anyone else should. It doesn't make sense why you would honestly. I could see someone disagreeing with me because I took Todd Gurley and he has an injury history, thats fine but I don't think anyone should hold it against you taking Fowler at 8 (still a huge steal) and he randomly tears his ACL.
personally....sans injury Gurley may have been a top three pick...so...cant knock you for takin him at all.
lol....I just imagined you actually saying that and cracked up out loud...lol Whats a Hawkeye accent sound like?
Nomination thread is up. I will not allow you to nominate your own team for the awards. However if your own team makes the final nomination list, you may vote for yourself. The only exception to this will be for GM of the Year (where all teams that have submitted a final roster are eligible).
Any chance of getting nominations pushed back to Friday night? I only work a half day on Friday, so it'll be a lot easier for me to be able to go through all the roster information that day and make informed nominations (and subsequently votes).
Interesting that Falcons have received a few votes for Team Built for Now...I have them as a team built for the future. Rookie starters all over the field, just a handful of starters in their 30s...team can be a force, but most likely down the road. I could only nominate a few for Man/Woman of the year, but there were a handful of GMs that were pleasant to work with via PMs and on the board. I based it off of those I had extensive trade talks with and who was willing to continually work things out to make moves (or at least attempt to make trades).
Stubborn? Absolutely. Savage? Far from it, you're good people...even if you undervalued Andrew Hawkins
Next year I feel like teams should put what categories they want to be considered for. I feel like that would be a lot easier than going through each post to see. So like for me I probably would have just placed best in FA and Secondary. Bam all you have to look at is 2 things. I noticed some teams kind of did this.
Thank you, GIzK, for letting me join and take part this season. It was definitely an interesting experience compared to the other GML leagues I have been apart of and the sim leagues I've been in since forever ago. Thank you all!
Yah pretty much what I did. Put notice to my OL and then put my draft up as a few people seemed to have liked it.
I see I have no chance at that award then (assuming others use the same criteria), since I actually want to treat my team moderately realistically, and therefore do not do many trades at all outside of the draft.
I'm ashamed the common GM'r doesnt know who Avery Williamson and Zach abrown are. I wont even get into Joel Bitino. #ishouldvetradedthoseguysforEvanMathisyallwouldloveme
