Well yesterday my 360 crapped out on me again. This was the refurb they sent me after I sent them the original last year. Hopefully the 3rd Xbox is the charm. I also sent an email to support asking if they would send me a rebate and just let me go buy a new one, we'll see what happens...

If Microsoft could only count the number of new/refurb 360s in their sales numbers then they would be blowing the Wii out of the water.

You want to buy another one? Usually when someone sells me a piece of crap I go in a different direction. I don't know why video game consoles get a free pass. If my PS3 craps out two times I guarantee you I'll give Sony the middle finger. Just my two cents.

Well to be fair the new 360s have solved these problems but yeah I agree the older 360s are pretty much crap hardware wise.

    I think you're being generous...

The Falcon models have reduced RROD, not solved. The new Jasper chipset due out in august should further reduce the RROD, but by no means solve the problem. when the 45 nm chipset comes out in 09 (probably the last year of the 360 I imagine) that could solve the problem.

No 360 is safe from RROD. It sucks, but it's the reality. I've also read on 360 forums that if you receive a microsoft refurbished 360, a RROD will happen again, at some point.

I had 3 different Xbox 360's give me the red rings of death in the span of a year. Luckily for me, I purchased them at Costco and got a full refund each time.

Got a PS3 now to compliment my Wii.

When Microsoft makes a reliable console, I'll buy one...next generation.

Well at least they are trying, maybe not much of an excuse but at least its something. Its getting better and who really expects quality from M$, where its all about profit?

Yeah. I know I would be a 360 owner if they did produce a quality product.

****, with Left 4 dead, gears 2, and fable (combined with the fact that very little on the PS3 interests me) I still might be if I hear good things about Jasper.

Actually I got a PS3 over the 360 because of reliability issues among others.

The main reason I would want a new one is for the bigger hard drive. I got the 360 at launch and didn't really know about the issues, just was excited about the games coming out. That one lasted a year. The refurb lasted until the other day. Now I've got too much money invested in games and online to throw it away, I'd rather just go pick up a new unit and hope it lasts until the next gen.
