http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/198409020was.htm We crushed them 35-17, it was the start of one of the best seasons by any QB in history and we went to the Super Bowl that year. Bring it on.
False. We lost 16-13 and had the single worst season in team history. [edit] Appreciate the optimist tho!
Jesus, what's the odds we opened up a season in a NFC city three times in 21 years? I always remembered the 1984 game so it always been in my head.
The Washington game was very close in 2007 though! Honestly, that was a mediocre team where absolutely everything went wrong. I think that with an average amount of injuries, the 2007 team was better than the 2004 team, which is my pick as the worst of my lifetime.
I predict the Skins get dominated. But I also wouldn't be surprised if the Fins continue to come out flat and get beat under this lame duck coach.
I was at the '84 game. 12 year old Dolphin fan. I just remember one bomb after another, followed by silence. RFK was an incredible venue. Whenever we scored, the jumbotron would say "miami dolphins touchdown", all lowercase, at the very bottom of the screen. When the Skins scored it was such a celebration, it would make a gay pride parade blush...
Anyone else think that they may go to the game? We'll see what Stubhub and the NFL's secondary market have this summer as far as pricing, but I'd love to meet up with anyone from the board if I'm there.
I will be there with my father, he hasn't been to a game since Miami played the Saints in pre-season in Baltimore before the Ravens came around. I just spoke with a friend who is a season ticket holder, and he will be getting me 2 tickets. I am also planning a trip down to Miami for the Ravens/Dolphins game again this year with my son (Ravens fan , so hard to swallow). So excited I can't wait.
I think I am going to make the trek to FedEx as well. Never been to a Redskins game but they are close enough that this is worth it. Here's to hoping tickets aren't TOO outrageous.
I'm expecting to pay more than I did to the games I went to in Cincinnati and Carolina, for sure, but I have a limit (I'm unemployed). Hopefully, I can find a reasonable deal on a couple in the upper deck around the 40. Right now, those are starting at like $130 each, which is a lot more than I paid for the other ones.
Ah the memories of 2007. I took the blue line with a Redskins fan to the stadium quaffing beers the entire ride, despite the fact that quaffing beers on the metro is expressly forbidden. Watched Miami lose a close game. Had no idea what was in store for the rest of 2007. I'll probably do the same this year, minus the drinking on the metro. They have gotten much stricter about all that.
I wish that the stadium was on the Western side of town instead of the Eastern. Would really cut down on my travel time and headache. I really hate driving around DC.
Fredricksburg and North on 95 can be Hell. Any time, any day. I'm considering going North to 66 and then East to avoid it, even though the distance of the drive is longer, to miss the worst traffic.
South is even worse. I avoid it at all costs. But Woodbridge has that Wegmans so sometimes it's necessary. At least until June 15th when we get one a stones throw away.
130 for upperdeck? Wow. Might be a sportsbar type event, actually. I'll be on the lookout for cheaper ones as the game draws near.
Agree with MonstBlitz. From 4 pm on heading south from NOVA to Fredericksburg is just awful. Can be terrible from Fredericksburg north as well, but normally not as bad unless it is weekday rush hour. I hate DC traffic. Makes me appreciate Miami's, lol.
Oh I agree, I meant from that point North. Not the north side of 95 specifically. We've sat on there for hours after leaving IKEA and heading back home.
I didn't know that we play Baltimore and Houston this year do we play the steelers this year too ? I predict tough times ahead but if things come together maybe we can win more then 7 or 8 games .
