I would say his extensive work with Kevin Long had more to do with it then a leg kick.

    Well away from here
Yankees are still in deep **** though. They've got a few guys hitting below the Mendoza line at the moment. Gregarius (**** if I know his name yet) at SS can't hit worth a ****. Unless he figures it out the team needs to find someone else to replace him.

I just cannot believe the farm system has gotte this bad for the Yankees. I mean damn.

Now, is when this team could really use Robinson Canoe. With him the team could possibly be competitive for a playoff spot provided the pitching comes around a bit.

Oh a difference a few days makes in baseball eh?.....every team has problems. If the Yankees can get ANY sort of hitting they will be competitive because their starting rotation is better than what it has been and their BP is a major problem for opposing teams...It is still very early so we will see....

If I am Cashman I send DFA Ryan, slide Drew over to SS to platoon with Didi and bring up Pirela to play 2nd and see how it goes.....The farm system has talent, problem is they are all in AA or younger....They have 3 picks in the Top 50 this year as well....

Agreed that was pretty great what he did last night.

Too bad it wasn't off David Price though, that would have been a fun post game interview.

Relief pitching is very volatile from year to year and it's still a very small sample size of games.

I think Seattle will ultimately be fine, everything gets overblown at the beginning of the year, whether the team is doing well or not. Good news is no one in the West is running away with anything at the moment.

Yeah! I always wanted to go to see Seattle's ballpark. It looks beautiful on TV. Maybe one day I will do a West coast trip and hit up Safeco and AT&T (or whatever the heck they call SF's park now).

So the Forum was down for a few days but couple of thoughts:

The Royals officially turned heel, fantastic drama but is there a more unlikable team in baseball right now? I mean serious Ventura and Cain need to freaking relax. Three teams want to kill them right now and I suspect that list will be bigger by the end of the year.

Remember the discussion/debate about whether you'd rather sign Zack Grienke or Josh Hamilton a few years ago? That didn't work out so well for the Hamilton band wagon.

The debate was silly especially the Greinke stuff. The guy had an anixety issue in 2006, got help and had been fine for 7 years. Meanwhile Hamilton's issues were well documented and he had even fallen off the wagon a few times before his free agency, even with teams employing basically a babysitter for him on the road. He just had way too much risk.

I hope Hamilton gets right too, you never want to see anyone have to go through that crap. The way the Angels handled the situation was a disgrace and classless though.

What getting rid of him or trying to? Maybe I am not reading something right here, how so? Some reports were saying he is getting a divorce and fell off the wagon, which presumably means he would have bunked a drug test....They have a suitor in Texas right?

The Angels showed zero compassion for the guy and the minute it was leaked he fell off the wagon everyone from the owner to president to the GM all talked about how they never want the guy to play on their team anymore because of all the money they owe him. I get they were upset but why say that stuff in public. I'm not a Hamilton fan by any means but why not try to save face and say something like "Right now we're more concerned about him getting his life back together then about him playing baseball" and in private try to work something out to get rid of him. Everytime someone in their organization opened their mouth about him they kept saying something dumber and dumber.

Yeah, reports are Texas is going to get him and the Angels are going to pay most of his remaining money on his contract.

The one thing i think a lot of people missed (including myself initially) was that Ventura was responding to something Adam Eaton said. Also WTF was Chris Sale doing trying to get in to the Royals dugout during the 8th inning of that game? Ventura is a baby for sure but Eaton definitely initiated that.

Also with Wainwright getting hurt while batting and is now out of the year, hopefully the new MLB President will look at having a DH in the NL now. It's time.

I think the issue with Ventura is that this is his 3rd time where he got into it with another team this year so it's hard to give him the benefit of doubt there even if he's 100% right. Especially since earlier that week Ventura randomly started yelling and screaming at Trout. We don't know what Eaton said but we clearly see what Ventura says. I don't understand why he just didn't let it go but it's clear Ventura is a hot head.

Bottom line is the Royals are acting like fools and if they don't knock it off someone on their team is going to get seriously hurt.

I am a Hamilton fan and I think that was a bush league move by Anaheim. You liked the guy enough to give him a 100M+ contract but the second he falls off the wagon despite the fact you knew his past issues you turn you back on the guy? Supposedly they were picking up 68M of the 80M left and sending him back to Texas. I hope he knocks them out of a playoff spot on the last day of the season. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2015/04/26/angels-josh-hamilton-rangers-farewell/26431967/

This. And agree 100%. I believe C.J. Wilson said it best when he said something along the lines of "If Hamilton was hitting 30 plus HRs a year and driving in 100 RBIs this wouldn't even be an issue".

    No.

And that would mean no more Bartolo Colon at bats so definitely not. The NL is the only league that does baseball the right way. Youre a baseball player. That means you play offense and defense.

The Rangers have been hit by 20 pitches this year, I don't recall them having any bench clearing incidents this year. Red Sox have been hit 12 times, Pirates 11 times and nothing from them either. So I don't think that's a good enough reason. Like I said they have had issues with 3 teams already this year. After awhile they need to look in the mirror and see what they're doing wrong.

I think it's hard to look at that number without watching every game they have played so far this year. Maybe they have a bunch of hitters like Jeter or Victorino who stand on top of the plate and dive into the zone. Out of those 16 HBPs how many were because of something they started though or because they were in the middle of a HBP war with another team?

Yeah maybe it's just me but I'd rather see a real hitter hitting instead of a nearly automatic out every 9th batter. The NL because the only league that has pitchers batting is exactly why they should get with the times. Plus NL teams are at a disadvantage during Interleague games and in free agency.
