Three OL in the past seven years have been taken in round one. Interesting that the last first round linebacker was in 1984 Jackie Shipp.

Is there a stat showing what position overall is the safest first round pick and the worst position to take in a first round?

    Interesting to me.
Six of the Patriots' past seven first-round picks have been used on defenders.

Makes it easier. Dennis Hickey was with the Bucs and the Bucs have used five of their past eight first-round picks on defensive players with no Tom Brady.

    Just Something to ponder.

Seahawks have been O linemen heavy. And have kept a stout running game for Russell.

OT,QBs,CBs ,DLs WRs always seem to be the favorite picks at the top of most teams draft .

LBs,Ss,Gs,TEs and lately RBs seem to lag behind.

Seahawks hit on so many late round picks (esp. on defense) as well as on mid-round picks (e.g Wilson) in the past 5 years that they could afford to go without a 1st, or if they have one pick OL with it.

Bill Belichick is still very much in line with that Parcells-style drafting.
