It appears no QB stood out this weekend and I did not expect one to take leaps ahead of the other 2 anyway. I think, overall , this is going to be a real close competition up and down the board. Not just for the starters spot but back up also. IMO all three have the ability and upside to be an effective, came managing QB who can be succesfull and will trust the staff to make the right decision.

QBs just like everyone else need to get into their groove. They've been away for some time and it takes a few days. I'm much more worried about the O-line and some of the things written about them. It sounds like Carey, again is our only true pro. We can only hope they "get it" quickly!:yes::wink2:

I don't think its "in fairness to Beck" that Henne didn't look much better. If Henne is on par with Beck, that isn't good for Beck, regardless of the circumstances.

And from the reports, it sounds as if Beck's problems were physical, not mental. His throws look like they "had wings" according to one report.

Thats not caused by the Oline, or the lack of running game, or the lack of a coherent game plan. It reminds me of his propensity last year to fumble the snap. You shoudl be able to take the snap cleanly. You should be able to throw a spiral.

Unless Beck makes huge strides, I think Henne will eventually be groomed to take over the starting job.

I think all 3 guys need to step it up. How many other team in the NFL would any of these 3 guys have a chance to start on this year? It's not like we're asking for a Pro Bowl performance. I just want to see one of them make the other two look like its not even a contest; because for any talented QB, this really isnt a competition.

It's really starting to sink in that we have one of worst QB situations in the league. Even looking at this QB situation through Aqua and Orange colored glasses it's terrible at best. We have a rookie who has never taken a snap, a 2nd year guy who was terrible last year and struggling with mechanics, and a 6 year journeyman QB who has been less than stellar in his NFL career thus far. I just hope one of these guys can get it together enough to be serviceable this year.

We go through this every year. The first weekend of practice there shouldn't be any judgements made, good or bad.

It's far too early to know how it'll work out.
