No. He did. He said "they'd get a trade from me"....for rivers to miami for RT and 14 overall. Guy is a basket case.
While you're right, drumming up hits helps him, I don't think its calculated at all. If it was Armando? Yes. Omar? Nope, he's just really a chucklehead.
You see he's an out-of-the-box thinker so we simply don't understand him. But that thankfully doesn't make us bad people.
From now on.....seriously....link anything to do with Omar Kelly using this: http://www.donotlink.com/ Thank you, internet.
Me Too...I actually broke my own rule of not opening up threads that are about him.... Nothing new to me. SFL has, by far the worse local talent in their media.... Too bad the few guys we have that are worth their salt have to be lumped in with the likes of Mando and Omar...
I'm not a fan of Rivers but I don't see why it's crazy for someone to be a fan of his and think he's better than Tannehill. Omar has personality issues obviously but I enjoy the beat writers that put out a lot of content, regardless of whether I always agree with them.
I don't think you can have one without the other. If someone feels the need to "find out the price" then they feel the need to potentially make the trade. If you are comfortable with where Tannehill is then you don't even ask the price. Would anyone actually support the idea of trading for Rivers? Even if you think Rivers is that much better than Tannehill you still have to weigh Tannehill's youth and growth ceiling to Rivers being at his ceiling and possibly declining. IMO there is nothing to support even "finding out the price" which is why you get the reaction to Omar even putting it out there.
Tannehill's "growth ceiling" is a certainly a subjective thing. Many people think he just had a good, efficient season and that may be about as good as it gets. Many also think Rivers has been carrying a bad team the last few years while they think Tannehill has been holding back the team. Again, not saying I agree with it, but I wouldn't call it crazy or anything.
If you weigh what he does, against every standard for an even mediocre journalist, he fails to fill the definition of "journalist"
Even if he never had a "better" season than last, if he played at that level every year, could you really complain about it? People like to ignore the consistent progress from Tannehill.
If he played like he did last year every year?? I wouldn't be very happy about our future...he needs to keep doing what he has and that is improve so we can finally have an upper tier QB.
My gawd could he be any more of a blathering blithering idiot? Oh, I miss the days when Ed Pope was in his prime. Pope has more brains in his toe jam than Omar the Blowhard has in his entire head.
It is kind of like when we are slowly passing by a car wreck and a detour along the freeway. We know we shouldn't take our eyes off the road as we pass and look over, but we usually do anyway.
Just saying, if he consistently was only a 4k passer, with an mid to upper 90's rating, with a 2:1 td/int ratio, and hitting at least mid 20 for tds, he would have us in a position to win in the playoffs. Of course I want him to keep improving, and I think he will.
I don't think he was lying, the Oct 20 post was the 3 goals he positively harped on all year, not the much earlier one. The question is whether the points per game can be assumed to be offensive points(22.8, I think) only. If so, and IIRC, he later clarified that is what he meant(which is really common sense), then Tanny did indeed only get 1 of 3 although .2 is pretty damn close..
