Top 3 center in the league. Glad we retained one of our good players instead of letting another one walk.

If he goes back to being the center, I'm okay with this.

Maurkice has a 5yr/44mil contract and Mike is better than his brother so, meh. That's a big number to swallow after a down year but, glad he'll stay around for a while. You got paid, Mike don't fkn get lazy!

Worst move of the offseason pretty easily. Pouncey doesnt deserve that even without his behavioral issues.

you guys need to relax, its "only" 22 million guaranteed for a 5 year deal, i think this will look like a 3 year deal when we will see the numbers

One less monster contract to deal with next year.

That said, what are we paying him with, bitcoin derivatives? Damn that's a lot of money...

The horror never stops with this team.

I believe an exorcism may be needed.

Mike is better than Maurkice? Why? Because he plays for the Dolphins? Maurkice has been named All-Pro 4x. Mike never has.

Some of you guys are being awfully negative. I thought the point was to keep to pro bowl talent around. Another year older and another year wiser. I'm ok with this.

I'm just glad the team is investing in the trenches. I'd love to have Shelton, a guard, and Tevin Coleman.

Locked up a 25yo top Center that is versatile and can fill in at other positions.. what do you want? Rookie contracts for all OL? Either he will earn the money, it will be restructured in a couple years, or he'll get cut. What's the problem? Keep Tannehill upright.

I mean he was terrible at guard last season. Versatility is not one of his strong suits, as we just learned.

Not a fan of this extension, really.

I agree. I think some people get blinded by the fact a certain player plays for the Dolphins. Mike is coming off a terrible season, even if it was at guard and not at center.

As far as he and his brother are concerned. So far Maurkice has proved to be the better player and it isn't even close, IMO.

I have no issue with this deal, I mean hes a top center in the league and we would have had to franchise him if we let him go without and extension. This way we have him locked up. I don't get the negativity, I really don't. The guaranteed money isn't that much and his off the field concerns are overblown, he's never been suspended or in any serious trouble. He's a knucklehead and probably not a guy I want to hang out with but who gives a ****.

I'm happy to lock down Pouncey for the next five years to start rebuilding the interior offensive line. The price is certainly a but hefty, but the guaranteed money isn't too large of a sum. He didn't have a great year last year, but that's because he played at OG - he's a more natural center.

What's funny is...Philbin's probably crying inside. We're well aware of the culture he's trying to build, and Pouncey doesn't exactly fit. He's infamous for the bullying scandal and "Free Hernandez." Let's just say he's probably not the cleanest guy on the team - but he can play football. And pretty well at that.

Eh, the league likes his game, he is young and really mobile.

Not worried about the $$, afterall it is not "my" money

Amen...he's not Top 3 Center in my book...he's very good, and I like his play, but can't see Top 3.

But like with any other signing/extension...it's not my money, so I don't care what they pay him.

Aren't a fan of PFF? Haven't they ranked Mike over Maurkice every year since 2011 with the exception of 2014, the year where Pouncey was probably rushed back from hip surgery to play RG rather than C?

It's not far fetched to think Mike is the better player. It's probably the truth.

He should forfeit a million every time he mentions that name or wears some idiotic piece of clothing referring to that.

Not one of our better moves this offseason. What has he done to deserve being the highest paid center in the league?

He is the top paid C now but it wont be long when others will get paid more and in a couple of years we may think that this deal was worth it IMO.
