I like Grasu. I want Grasu. I get Grasu. Whatcha gonna Grasu about it?? After seeing Erving go early, I really didn't want to miss an opportunity to get the only other top tier center in this draft class, so I traded up, and got him
I'm not risking the chances of my "beloved" (as some of you might call him) Jimmy G dying in the pocket behind a late-round or undrafted center Bears fans don't want to see Caleb Hanie any time soon...
#16 - Texans [A+] - Dupree is the most athletic edge rusher in the draft but he also is the rawest. Dupree needs solid coaching and he is going to get that with Romeo Crennell. Texans select Bud Dupree. #17 - Titans [A] - After acquiring Forte they shipped him off leaving a huge hole in the backfield. They happen to land the best RB in the draft at 17. Gordon gives the Titan offense another huge weapon. Titans select Melvin Gordon. #18 - Chiefs [A] - KC needed a real threat at WR and they happen to get one of the best red zone/possession WR in the draft. While he isn't much of a deep threat he can body most DB that cover him, offering a wide catch radius. Chiefs select Jaelen Strong. #19 - Lions [A] - Another spot, another need, another solid player. Lions needed another corner and I had a feeling Peters wasn't going to last much longer. Peters big enough to bully opposing offensive players, athletic enough to run with the best of them. Although he got kicked off Washington he is quite the talent and should thrive in Detroit. Lions select Marcus Peters. #20 - 49ers [C+] - Must really suck missing out on Peters and having to reach for the next best thing but still a reach. Collins is a gifted athlete, has the size you dream of in a corner but was very meh at LSU, doesn't have the ball skills you look for, looks lost at times. Needs time to develop but 49ers are hoping his best days are ahead of him. 49ers select Jalen Collins. Wanted to clear something up why I give out so many As. [A] represents a team picking a player close to my rankings, fills the need, doesn't reach. So like with 49ers I didn't have a 1st round grade on Collins but I can see why others do. Also don't get too hung up on my rankings. All of this is my opinion and to kill time.
Y'all are welcome that I prevented this nightmare of a concept from ever happening. (This is genuinely terrifying though. Those three would've been nigh on unstoppable)
But I like most of the players. I can't knock KC for taking Jaelen Strong or Titans for taking Gordon. Value is round 1 and fit a need. Not a whole lot of reaching, most people are sticking to a general rankings. Basically if you don't draft a 3rd round prospect in round 1 you're not really going to get below C.
it's why I grade with my kiper character, easier to grade as a different person through different evaluations.
About time Malcolm Brown went. First A+ pick of the draft (besides mine of course ). Phenomenal value for the Hawks, I had him as 10th best player.
So much front seven value remains that I wish I would've left room to justify taking one soon. It's insane.
Wow... 2nd round up... Cleveland... Silverphin looks to be online.... then Dallas... Van? VAN?? Then Green Bay... can't believe this guy is still available... lets see if he lasts to 35...
That's how I felt about Peat at 32. I had a top 20 grade on him. Best pure LT in this class. Not a mauler like a Jake Long at his peak or a beast like Joe Thomas...more a technician like a D'Brickashaw Ferguson or a Andrew Whitworth.
