Sad thing is a team with a need at RB is probably thinking "that's too much to offer" which is comical.

Semantics much? Fleener caught 51 balls for 774 yards and 8 TDs last year [up from 52/608/4 in year 2]. That ranks 8th among TEs in receiving yards and 5th in TDs. That's the guy Allen made his backup. My point still stands for all intents and purposes, but if you'd like to pursue an alternative argument to suggest Allen edging out Fleener has little application in gauging his worth, I won't stop you my friend. I'll still debate it however.

Agreed. I've been lowballed with 4th round offers so far and it's like "really?"

and I watched every game he played at Clemson... and you would be one of the very few people, if any, that I've ever heard criticize Allen's hands at Clemson as if they're some sort of weakness.... other than maybe a drunk gamecock :p.... and your knock on his blocking is fabricated. I'm sorry but your desire for Miami to not draft him hasn't somehow been vindicated just b/c you've isolated one anomalous stat that you're hoping suffices for sinking him as a player. If you were to enter an Indy forum and conduct your very same argument, I'm guessing it'd be met with similar but more heated opposition. Anywho, for argument sake, let's just agree to disagree shall we.

Im not trying to sink him. Im flatly stating he doesnt impress me in any particular area and I see his hands as a particular weakness. That you feel otherwise is your opinion and youre entitled to it.

If you plan on using a 1st or 2nd round pick on a RB, then you're better off with Anderson unless we are talking Gordon or Gurley IMO.

RB is a pretty stacked class. Sure Gurley and Gordon are ahead of the other backs but it's not by much IMO.

yet, contradictory to your statement, Allen's rookie year receiving ranks top 10 since 2000. He's an outstanding outlet, is an asset as a blocker, and offers athleticism to allow you to do things with him that you frequently can't with most inline TEs. Plus you're significantly dulling down his speed, Matt. No, he's not a burner, but he's by no means slow.... unless you can rationalize this burst down the sideline as slow.

I like how you took what I said and made up an entire argument lol, all I was saying was draft position doesn't matter after a few years into the league. Thats all it has nothing to do with the ability of either Allen or Fleener. I frankly don't care.

Compared to a 2nd round pick? I know it's fun to draft, I get it...but like it or not your odds of drafting an impact player in RD 2 are slim. On average maybe 5-7 out of the 32 picks are high level performers. It's about the same when you get to the mid to late 1sts as well.

Draft picks are a good to have but some folks are way to attached to them. A young cheap PROVEN player for a 2nd?? What are the ️RB needy teams thinking?

Eagles Continue Makeover; Trade for Forte

After pulling off a stunning blockbuster yesterday to move up to #1 overall in the GML Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles capped the evening by trading for Pro Bowl running back Matt Forte of the Tennessee Titans. Forte has been a consistent player in his NFL career, and has rushed for more than 1000 yards in 5 out of 7 seasons. He's also a true dual threat running back, having broken the NFL record for receptions by a running back last season. Eagles Offensive Coordinator Marc Trestman had this to say:

The Eagles backfield is somewhat crowded at the moment, as Forte is expected to share time with the previously acquired Fred Jackson, who came over from the Bills in the McCoy trade earlier this offseason. Also expected to contribute are the resigned Chris Polk, and Oregon project LaMichael James.

Bengals are placing Pro Bowl WR Jordy Nelson on the trade block. Already have an offer that included a first rounder and a starting DB and we're considering it, so offers would have to be comparable for us to take a close look at it.

Please DM myself or AshyLarry if interested.
