I actually met Tannenbaum at the san diego game, I think it was like his first or second week as a "consultant" for the team. He took a pic with me. Looked surprised that I had recognized him. For what its worth my first impression of him in person was that he was a good guy.

This is an entirely new team. More than half of the starters will be new so we have no idea how this turns out. We could be 13-3 or 3-13. So its tough to give him a grade.

That said, for the last several years, we were stuck in 8-8 / 7-9 purgatory and its really hard to get out of that death spiral without wholesale changes. So Im ok with the moves. We werent winning a super bowl with tweaks to last years roster.

This poll just proves that no matter the move, some people will never be happy. Clearly, the way the Dolphins were run for the past 10+ years was no good. So, we change it up, and actually go get good pieces, and some people still are unhappy.

Also, I don't see half the starters being new. That would be 11 totally new players. People also seem to forget, some of the players who are gone played little, or not at all, and others were totally terrible when they did play. It's not like we lost all-pros in this purge.

Yeah, Suh. And Cameron, if he stays healthy. And Stills, since he does what Wallace did for a fraction. And McCain.

I mean, seriously man, you are just downing all these moves. Would you have really preferred to roll with last year's team again? This team needed a shakeup. I'm really not concerned with the losses of any of the players who are gone.

Wallace thing wasn't really a loss by the Front Office, but not exactly a win either.

If Philbin and Wallace could no co-exist, I'd rather they'd gotten rid of Philbin and promoted Lazor, to be honest.

Take a look at our future years and what guys are signed to. Next year, we currently have about 40 mil free space available. Now, thats before we account for players like RT, Clay and Pouncey, but we can also make more by redoing Wake's deal since its his final year. We're actually ok. We of course need to draft well, but as long as we do ok with that and can have some cheap producers, we're pretty good.

I liked the first two moves of Suh and Camero , not feeling the last two moves of Stills and Wallace. We will see i guess. Stills is a bit overrated on this site, im almost positive a lot havent watched him and are going by stats lol

2 pro-bowlers, One of them #1 in the nfl at their position, and then a 3rd who is a promising up-and-comer WR with a better catch radius than MW, more fight, and at fraction of the cost.

What more do you want for the first week??????

I am excited to see the pieces come draft day. I think Lazor will have a lot of guys on offense that fit his system. I think it will be exciting to watch.

I'm surprised that anyone is dissenting, especially at the Wallace move. I mean the guy is getting paid $9-10 million to play a game and he f***ing quit on his team. He was out the door regardless and we managed to salvage a draft pick out of it.

We traded him for a younger guy, still developing with a similar skill set for essentially a 4th round pick and freed up $11+ million of cap space. If we can use that to sign Clay and/or a couple of players who can contribute or start, I say great move!

I believe Tannehill's 5th yr, $20,000,000 option is not included in your 40 mill number. Factoring in Tannehill and his potential raise plays a large roll. We still have about 10+ guys to sign. We are currently 139,500,000 with a cap of 152,365,000.

The numbers just beg questions. If we are only 11.8 under right now with the guys we have on the roster, how do we sign more quality guys. Sure we can get a few and Stills is a steal at $585,000. However next year Stills is going to want to a raise because 2016 is the last year of his contract at $585,000. So either he is a stop gap or going to command 5-7 million a yr, depending on the numbers he puts up. Just not sure if this is money we have. I think Stills is a hidden Gem.

Suh's cap number single handly is 28.6 mill for next year which exacerbates the problem. Suh is only costing 6.1 mill now which is excellent.

Not trying to purposely be negative but there seems to be a handful of guys on here who are sceptically optimistic. I know I have been quiet about the cap because it will just be brushed off as being negative.

It is way to early to say good or bad he really hasn't done anything yet. The things he has makes one pause. We literally are all in. A lot of moves that are killing team chemistry across the board. I mean in reality Tannehill needs to start building his chemistry with our receiving core asap. It took years to develop what we had and it really wasn't all that good. This is a clean sweep. Hope they can get it together quick. Still need lots of other guys to play for free.

I'm happy BUT I hope we continue the direction of going for impact players over the safe picks in the draft. Of course everyone wants impact players but we need some physically imposing players on this roster, and we have been going that direction with Suh over Odrick, Cameron, etc. As much as I like Clay even, And u need some sure handed players, I'd be ok spending that money elsewhere.

Hard to say yes or no at this point because he's not the GM. Hickey could be as responsible for these moves. This power structure is completely unclear.

Right now he is building chemistry with Landry and Mathews.

however I do not agree that WR is killing chemistry. Wallace and Tannehill didn't have the best chemistry. Gibson was hot garbage. Hartline didn't fit the offense.

If you are complaining about the 7th round pick, then you have inflated the value of a 7th round pick. The 3rd round pick is valuable, but we get a proven contributing WR with low cap numbers for the next two years. It is hard to imagine doing better than that with the pick. I believe the loss of pick is worth it in this case.

The 3rd round pick could be a future great player for longer than two years. Don't forget that Tannenbaum lost his job in NY because he routinely gave away draft picks and left the team a mess. My hope is Hickey doesn't let that happen.

Soooo you wouldn't want another T.Fede? Or what about Seantrel? Yes, weed was the reason his stock plummeted but the point is he was available in the 7th. There's always a chance of finding someone. Odds are against it but they're better than not having a 7th at all.

Do you also routinely play the Powerball as your retirement plan? I mean, it's almost the same idea. 7th round picks are almost always just camp fodder. The fact that the same couple guys are always brought up, i.e., Brady as a sixth round pick, shows how rare it is to find any talent there.

Well in fairness Brady's brought up because he was 6th round, AND a QB...you NEVER see QBs succeed from that round really. I agree though.

Not disagreeing with the basic argument, but the other QB that succeeded (nowhere as much as Brady but still..) is that undrafted one: Kurt Warner.

I know your not fond of the guy and I had my suspicions as well looking at him from a far, and a lack of real personal information..But, were not asking him to burn the midnight oil in the film room, were asking him to set us up with a progressive analytics program, a cutting edge performance science and nutrition program, and to speak for our organization and have the intellect to close deals with hi level personalities..

maybe your disdain for him comes from him trying to be both scout and exec vp...
