Not at the expense of the integrity of the league, but you're already invested cause you lose out on a free 4th. If I knew this was going down I wouldn't dealt for Konz (Mach's Oakland 2nd rounder in 2012) to be a part of it. I like to bend the rules for fun, but I know when somethings wrong.
I just remember someone saying ****lons would be a zoo because of the new blood... just funny looking back
Ironically I always wanted to implement a trade committee to pass/veto trades that go against the integrity of the GML...
Well I'm glad I snuck this through earlier without GIK giving me the stinkeye ;p Cincinnati trades 6.175 Dallas trades TE Gavin Escobar $1,148,317 (-$721,090) 7.207 ($449,850) PK Dan Bailey $2,500,000 (-$3,200,000 ) That was pure salary dumpin'
It wasn't free. I absorbed money for it. That was the cost of making the transaction. I guess the cloak of a ****ty backup thrown in would've made this all on the up and up, huh?
Is that what I said? I mean, for all intents and purposes that's what he did...but it's not technically what he did. He found a loophole in the rules, it appears. So he's going to be penalized for that? I'm not sure that's fair.
Again, he shed salary. That was what he got. It wasn't nothing, unless you want to look at it in a vacuum. And let's say this concocted scenario you presented is true; I'd be pissed that it was one-sided, but if the proven GM -- who has won the league twice and is always in contention for GM of the Year -- made the lopsided move to ultimately make his team better, then that's his prerogative and I'd probably adhere to his decision making. Are you implying that UCF Finatic does not know what he's doing and that he got ripped off?
If anyone wants to dump cap on those pricey first rounders, I'd be happy to take them off your hands lol jk dont ban me
Guess you can take the feud of the year out of the league but you can't take the league out of the feud
He knows what he's doing, but this isn't the norm in terms of his transactions. You can throw that he won twice all you want but it doesn't make a difference based on the negative impact now. I can say I won (I have) and all my moves in the past have been to make my team better and do things now that would be wrong and hope to get away with it? (Trading cap space, offering franchise players the minimum contract...all those were wrong and I was fine with it, though I did it for giggles.) I've set a lot of precedences so rules would be put in place, but never to the extent that a trade council might have to be put in. Heck I'm the reason why Van was so scared to non-exclusive tag because some GM would trade back for #31 and #32 and offer up for Dez so he would get nothing (see Big E/Arian Foster.)
its free agency. free. highest bid wins. its not i'll let you have this guy and i'll take this guy. there dont have to be any concessions to anyone. you go and earn who you want by paying the most. who cares what old arthur blanc thinks we're also on the internet.
taking an outside view, here's what stands out to me. There are rules and norms of the league and the focus on the return has little to do with said rules and norms.
Actually VO did it to me 2 years ago for ironically...a Free Safety (What the hell is up with FS's?) in Byrd. Although that time I wanted those picks ;p
I just want some due process! Some of my boys out in the Marcy projects ain't get that and now they got d*** holes in they underpants...ya feel me?
Honest question, if I would have cut those guys instead of trading them would there be this outcry? All I was trying to do was avoid dead cap. I mean honestly they were mostly scrubs. Had they been on another persons team they would have been cut already. I literally only cut 12 players all year, 12 that's it. Out of those 12 cuts I only had dead cap of $829,230. I feel like my moves have been consistent throughout.
In the real world 70% of the trades that go down in here wouldn't happen and the GMs would get crucified, so those shouldn't count too? I'm sure Jim Irsay wouldn't be too happy with some of the deals you made, but guess what.....this isn't the f'ing real world.
In hindsight, I probably should have. But at this point I valued cap space more than draft picks especially in the 4th round where the players have little to no impact in voting.
