I have no issue making my opinion public....those trades are so unrealistic that they should be 86'd. I get that a lot of unrealistic stuff goes down in this league but you gotta know when to say when or the league becomes even more watered down. It is my opinion that trades like that should not exist in this GML no matter the motive.
Yeah, I didn't like the trade but if he feels like JimmyG is the real deal so be it. Probably could have got him for a 2 and something else but oh well we all make strange trades at some point. Look at Kingdom he took Phillip Wheeler
How do we know those were the best values offered for those players at the time? How do we know there wasn't an ulterior motive? I do not believe that's the case, but that's my point...you can't apply values and intentions to different trades just because you don't like the way they look. If he wanted to make cap room for a greater purpose, who is anyone to see how he should do so if it's not out of line with the very carefully structured rules of this league?
I'm pretty sure Leroy inferred he offered #7, I don't think NE was getting higher than that for Jimmy G.
btw, in the other GML, the previous owner of the Pats wanted my second overall pick for Jimmy G-Love. So it's not surprising to me really. The dumb **** in the other one wants a ton for Geno Smith just cause it's a weak QB draft. So, you know, I dont think I can blame the Bears at all. They got rid of Cutler too. Leroy is ok in my book.
It's not, but I think the situation is a little different than making trades for no compensation. Maybe I'm wrong.
Absolutely, and my intent wasn't to throw a specific GM under the bus (which is why I didn't mention names)....more so, I wanted to point out that unfair trades happen all the time here, ones where 95% of the league can agree who got the better of the deal.
He walked away with enough money to bid on the player he wanted to round out his defense...I'd argue that that's a hell of a lot more valuable than a draft pick or a backup player with potential. EDIT: Which goes to my point...it's not on any of us to apply value to another GM's moves. If they've shown integrity in the past and have put in effort to better their team, who are you, I or anyone else to say what trade is fair or not?
