Man, it's been a LONG time since Miami was actually set at QB for years to come! Enjoy! http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on...eration-rankings-how-screwed-is-your-nfl-team
That's not really saying he's the 5th best QB, just means because of his age and potential we aren't desperately trying to find a QB for the first time in 15 years.
What makes you say this? His poor deep ball? Poor pocket presence? Inability to win big games? Captain checkdown on 3rd down?
Hey... you guys go talk about your poisonous nuts somewhere else mmmkay??? Go Blue! It sure does feel nice to not really have to go into a season wondering who our QB is going to be this year. Nice to know we have someone capable under center. The cieling is still so high for Ryan IMO. He may never be Brady or Peyton, but he's going to have a good career as a starter in this league, and if we continue to build around him and he continues to improve, our chances are great.
I think he's good enough to eventually become the fifth best QB in the league. You have to think he's part of the new wave of QB's that are coming through the league. Other guys like Brady, Manning, Brees, Ben R, Rivers, Eli, and even Aaron Rodgers are in their 30's. Not calling them old or anything, i'm saying that Tannehill is part of this new generation that is taking the league by storm...The Kaepernicks, Wilson, Luck, Mariotta, Manziel (if he gets his ish together).
Fist bump all except for the "Go Blue" part. In Ohio it's West 'til you smell, North 'til you step in it."
When the bar is set low, that's not something to get excited about. Wow, you came in a distant second to the best guy, and you are better then all of the bottom feeders..... Mediocrity is celebrated around here, it's insane. Just because mediocrity looks good in our world of QB's (in miami) doesn't mean that it should be celebrated and accepted as the future.
If mediocrity completes two - thirds of his passes and throws 15 more touchdowns than picks, then I'll take it.
You can call it mediocrity since its not "amazing" but the fact remains we are in good shape at QB. Our starter is already good, and has only gotten better since taking his first snap. I agree with the author as far as ranking us around 5 at QB situation. I think this year will be even better for RT17. No reason to think otherwise...really. I cant imagine being grumpy about our QB situation right now but its a free country.
Still waiting for your answer to the QB question, What is your solution that will not take another 3yrs+ to find out. You constantly run down our QB in every thread, say that we all except mediocrity. What is your answer for this year..right now...Draft? FA?
I have him as an up and coming #13 QB in the league as of right now... I expect him to be in the 6-9 range after next season..
I wouldn't put him in the top ten yet! He still has to hit the deep ball and get some pocket awareness.
Pretty sad when personal hate blinds fans. Every single expert says Tannehill is the next franchise QB. Oh well. Jealousy is an ugly trait.
You don't have to follow expert opinion. Marino was exceptional, if that can't be understood, and the growth in Tannehill from year to year is ignored, then just leave it alone. Haters gonna hate.
No I call it mediocrity because that's what it is. There is Brady/Rodgers amazing level. Wilson/Luck/Stafford/Romo/Big Ben etc above average level (luck is leaving this group next year) Then there is mediocrity - Tannehill, Flacco, Alex Smith You guys elevate Tannehill to a level he isn't at. You only look at this TD #'s. You don't look at what caused those #'s to go up, and how he is seriously deficient in many aspects of the game. Kid yourself if you want, but this guy is not the future. His YPA is awful, and this is a very telling stat in the NFL. He can't win big games, has zero pocket presence. And always checks down on 3rd down and the defense knows it. And as much as you downplay the deep ball problem, it's a problem!!! BEcause he can't hit it, no one covers it, and it only makes it that much more difficult to throw the intermediate stuff because the field is all muddied up with defenders not respecting the deep ball. I'm glad we are about to sign Suh and eat up the money we would give Tannehill.
