Quick question, is their a chart or percentage a player must get in FA to get a comp pick and how high?
not sure how GIK is doing it this year, but last year this is how I did it: top 32 UFA deals (doesn't include cut players signed)... and from there I just looked at the # amounts to spread them into each round... starting with 3rd round... but as the rounds get higher, there were more picks distributed... so 1 3rd... 3 4ths... 8 5ths... etc etc.
The Lions are very happy to welcome back one of the best young DTs in the NFL in Nick Fairley. As long as nobody tries to steal Suh, we feel that we currently have the best defensive line in football with Suh, Fairley, Ansah, and Dumervil along with one of the best front sevens when you add CJ Mosley, Deandre Levy, and Van Noy.
Cincinnati is pleased to announce that LG Clint Boling has been retained. Bringing back Boling was a key part of our organization’s plans going forward. Not only did he grade out as one of the top left guards in the NFL last season (+5.0 in 14 games), but his best football is ahead of him at 25 years old. The main reason Boling was a priority was that he formed an extremely effective, yet underrated, guard pairing with Kevin Zeitler (+17.2 in 12 games). With some key personnel changes on offense, it was important to keep continuation along the offensive line (4 returning starters) that paved the way for RB Jeremy Hill’s stellar rookie campaign. Boling puts the finishing touches on what is arguably one of the top offensive lines in the league. Jared Veldheer steps in at LT, where he’s been a stalwart in recent years (+16.5 in ’14, +16.5 in ’12, +13.5 in ’11) and allows an aging but still elite Andrew Whitworth (+36.8) to move to RT, a transition that likely prolongs his career. Mike Pollak (+5.0) will play his natural position at center (why the hell did Cincy not let him play there in ’14 is beyond our current regime). Numbers aren’t everything, but in this case the whopping line total of +63.3 matches up with recent production and perception, and we believe this group is as good as it gets. Pair this line with QB Drew Brees, Hill and the top receiving trio around, and this offense will be awfully hard to stop in 2015.
Agreed. And price is all relative, imo. If you have most of your positions filled and have just a few needs, it makes perfect sense to spend 20% more than market price on a guy. You can't take the money with you.
I wouldn't worry about anyone calling you a child, considering one page has an exchange of semen memes/gifs between guys. I think you're fine.
The Ravens front 7 says hi :hi: DL: Ngata-Brandon Williams-Jernigan (Starks/DeVito as primary backups) LB: Suggs(OLB)-Dansby(ILB)-Daryl Smith(ILB)-Ware(OLB)
I thought the Colts would be spending more in FA, they're probably waiting until the next wave of FA to throw down when most other teams have spent their cap. Hopefully he can hit that Salary Cap Floor of 89% expenditure. Afterall this league's rules are closely associated to the CBA of the NFL, so it would be assumed we have a floor. I know FinO would consider salary left for rollover, but he would probably consider the fact that a team would violate something like not meeting the floor. Afterall, all it would do is inflate the salaries on the players on his roster. Given those facts it's going to be pretty easy for the Colts to throw around $50,000,000 to hit that floor.
Anybody want an ex 4th round running back that should see a ton of action for NE this yr? James White - he's cheap labor. not looking for a whole hell of a lot.
Titans are happy to announce the signing of the ageless wonder Rashean Mathis....one of my favorites throughout the years, I've either had him or tried to have him on my team every year. The guy is one of the most underrated players of all time.
James White RB $609,272 $297,816 age 23 White was viewed as a plus pass blocker and pass catcher coming out of Wisconsin. also have tyler gaffney $435,000 $0
The Packers are happy to announce the resigning of CB Davon House. With the likely departure of 32 year old CB Tramon Williams, it's time to commit to youth at the position. Having drafted well in recent years with Casey Hayward and Sam Shields, we're happy to include Davon into the rotation in the secondary. We predict he will start opposite Sam and that Casey will continue to cover the slot. Welcome back Mr. House.
The Cleveland Browns welcome Rey Maualuga to the team. We believe he is going to be a cornerstone to a vastly revamped linebacker corps.
I was really surprised no one else put any kind of bid on him. Seemed like a no brainer to me even if he's not a huge name. And he played safety and CB.
Quiet ya putz. I didn't sign him for that reason. For 510k for a backup who can play SS or CB or Fs it just seemed like an intelligent move. I value versatility
Right because they had Allen playing CB against other teams #1 wr. He's really a strong safety. He can play elsewhere as needed but asking him to match up vs a Demaryius Thomas or a Jordy Nelson is a bit much no?
Believe I'm timidly holding onto a 4th comp for now........you know as long as there aren't anymore barely solid corners to bid on
