Wait what? I thought they could be traded by the original team w/o penalty but the new team would incur one if the player gets re-traded.
Don't let these guys give you a hard time about that trade, Alex is a veteran and has already made 4 worse that that one.
I figured as much, ole friend. Hence me not PM'ing you about him. Although if I knew it was gonna be Boik I would've changed my mind.
Wait for GIK to make it official but.... http://www.thephins.com/forums/showthread.php?84996-UFA-Tags-RFA-ERFA-Tenders Thanks for Michael
Rules guy here. You will incur dead money on the trade if you successfully retain him as a RFA. If someone signs him to an offer sheet you will not incur dead money, but will owe the 2nd round pick on your pre-existing deal.
Well, you were quiet at the time and the other dude came at me with players I liked. I would have been happy to send him to Indy. The guy that PM'ed me about you is a bit of a whore anyways.
HAHAH - im in good spirits - you live and you learn. Im in need of a SS anyone want to send one my way?
that doesn't make sense. Essentially it means Jerrell Freeman or whomever the RFA is will either be getting paid double [once for the dead money and then again by the team trading for him] or the team trading for him will be getting him at a cost of $0. As a 1 year contract, there shouldn't be dead money involved unless he's cut.
I know what it means in the real NFL but it's done this way to not have people tagging and tendering players solely to trade them. It's meant as a way to keep the free agent market stronger.
You have 80million in cap space...I wouldn't worry too much about the 2 n change. Your a lock for "Best of FA"
I was gonna say that this rule probably help Todd more than most considering how much space he has...
God, I would have dealt Christine for Todd's punter at the time. Damn it Todd, why couldn't you have messaged me. :sadwalk:
