Gotta get Muck to break up with the lady friend because this keeps happening lately. IT guru cant IT when hes getting the truckfit!
Speaking of the nightly reboot. When FA starts...maybe we wait until 0005 to open the threads. That was comical last year with us all trying to hit the site for our FA posts during the reboot.
Wait.. We didn't trade away Jesus. Kyle made sure we kept Jesus... Said he reminded him of Notes Dame for some reason. I dunno..
Still looking to move Jason Babin, had a huge bounce back year moving to a 34 outside linebacker. He was rated in the top 10 according to PFF, but just a scheme fit for us as we move to the 4-3.
GM League is 100x more active than last year. Its frustrating as I feel I've disappointed multiple GM over players they've had interest in. As of now I'm willing to move Manning for a second rounder and work out lesser compensation for anyone who wants to match D. Thomas non exlusive franchise tag.
The Bucs are doing some work today For the record, pleasure dealing with Bucs' GM. Responsive, has a good grasp of his team and -- most importantly-- willing to make counters and go back n forth with trade talks. Felt like we both helped our teams out. Getting David gives us arguably the best LB in the NFL. At 25 he's been a top-tier player for a few years now and he's inexpensive. We shed a contract we weren't fond of (Andre Smith is a real nice RT if he's fully healthy, we'll see) and Atkins, who was described as "just a guy" by our DC after taking a big step back this year. I think he'll get a nice jolt in Tampa next to McCoy -- I'd hate to be an offense in that division -- but just wasn't productive enough for his price tag for what we're trying to do. Hate to see Jones go at WR, but again another guy coming off an injury and we feel we have a more-than-suitable replacement for him in Stedman Bailey (avgd 58 YPG in final 6 games, high PFF grade, plus will have an actual QB throwing him the ball this year). Throw in a very early 2nd plus a lot of cap flexibility and we're thrilled with the trade.
You could at least throw some lube in with that deal. Jesus, way to take advantage of the guy. No way that 2nd should have even been involved.
This big boy job, and the lack of a girl friend makes me pissy... AT least I still have my dipping tobacco....
1. I prefer coconut oil to lube. My GF tried it recently, it's life-altering. Makes HJs worth getting now. Give it a shot. 2. I don't think it was that bad for him. I like to think I came out ahead in the deal (don't we all always think that after making a trade) but do not think it was lopsided for Bucs since they had cap space to take a risk on Smith and Atkins getting back to top form. We didn't have that same luxury. Plus Jones is a nice WR, only a few savvy teams exhibited interest in him, not sure why more didn't inquire about him.
3 injury-riddled players dog, AND you received a 2nd with it, along with a Top 2 Cover 2 LB. Smith is AVERAGE at best, when he keeps his weight under control, even at RT; Marvin Jones, one year wonder, Geno Atkins is about the only valuable piece in this deal to me for the Bucs, IF he can rebound, that's a BIG question mark. Personally, I would feel sorry for the Bucs. I wouldn't have even let David go for any of the 3 players offered. Geno tore his ACL, that's a MASSIVE injury to those in the trenches, unless you are Vince Wilfork. The show will go on, but man, by saying you aren't ahead by a landslide on this deal, you are kidding yourself. Just my opinion.
If both GMs are happy w the deal its fine. If it makes you feel better the Bucs got a damn good deal from me and their GM was great to work with. Normally I'd never have given so much but cutting cap and moving down to #1 overall was a huge priority for me. I had a much more favorable deal worked out with PSG before he dropped out and had to redo it.
Hey sean - i love that you have opinions, and maybe you're right, but remember you're going to want to work with some of the people you're undercutting.
I publically refuse to negotiate with the Bengals in trades. The Chargers and Bengals will not be making deals. - Sean
Sean- You realize by alienating other GM's they will remember this during voting, trust me. That is why you must be super duper positive and congratulate all.
This is true, but weeding out the prey from the predator is always the best way. We'll see who assembles the best team. Voting isn't a concern, maybe to the Bengals it is so they get the "Best in Trade Rape Collusion," but I'm not too concerned on who will have the better team. Good luck having the wiggle room in f/a or the draft with those large contracts there, Cinci. I wish nothing but the best of luck to their team.
