Not for 10 million a year you don't. Let him go somewhere else for that kind of money. We can buy the same mediocrity for half that amount.

I dont think its reported anywhere at 10 million per season, there isnt a sane GM that would give him that kind of money. As ive stated before he is no better or worst than Mitchell, so 4 years 16 million should be the money he's getting. Maybe 4 year 20 is a little overpaying but not that much. Anything above 4-5 million per season for an average rotation DT, is overpaying.

stats says no, theyre the same. Actually Mitchell had one more sack than Odrick. So that means two since odrick only had one all season. 29 vs 33 tackles. About the amount of pressures. Theyre the same player.

People just like aodrick more becsuse he does a little sack dance, which we only saw once all season. Last few games he was a revolving door.

I like him more because he is better at taking on double teams and is a full time player rather than a rotational defensive linemen. He is also much more versatile. PFF had him ranked 19th. I cannot find Mitchell's ranking, however I highly doubt it was close to 19th in the league.

. I have no idea how you can watch both players play and come to the conclusion that Mitchell and Odrick are the same players. I could see if you just go by stats, however there is not the best way to grade linemen.

Where did you hear $10 mil? Or was that a number you just pulled from some dark orifice?

I'd much rather pay for Ndamukong Suh as he's going to do much more for the defense than Jared Odrick ever has or ever will. That being said, if they bring back Odrick, I don't think that takes Danny Shelton off the table. At all. In fact, it might make him even more front and center for Miami's first round pick if he's still on the board.

I think you can do about the same as Odrick for less money though. I'd be interested in guys like Tyrunn Walker, Tom Johnson, Stephen Paea, Nick Fairley and C.J. Mosley. I think you can also look to 3-techniques in the draft like Xavier Cooper and Michael Bennett that'd give you the same, if not more, production than Odrick. In my eyes, while you're not paying top dollar for Jared Odrick, you'd be overpaying for his production more so than you would for Ndamukong Suh even though Suh will get top dollar. Suh's just that good. Odrick's had one good year (2013) and was middling last year.

I hope this is one of the times that Abramson's sources aren't the best.

We can make up for that this year by grabbing Gerod Holliman in round 1.

my bad if that is not what he meant and totally confused why his post has anything to do with you. In my head went 20 mill on 2 tackles. Why would anyone think Odrick is as good as SUH ----Duh

I love his playmaking ability and the way he plays center field, we could open up our D with a guy like Holliman, I do think I am higher then most on him though.

His bad habits are fixable (poor tackling)

If he was a SS, I would be more concerned about it but he is a FS, Ed Reed was never a great tackler but his playmaking abilities trumped his poor tackling tendencies.

Yep I get it. My brain just automatically went 20/2 = 10 each ........silly me

But with that being said 2 tackles and a QB = 35 mill or 25% of the cap tied up in three players.............probably not going to happen

Ed reed took angles to the football that this kid doesn't have, the only player I've seen take as good as angles from point a to B is earl Thomas, he was a freak coming out, it was remarakble.

Believe me, as a Texas Longhorns fan, I was a huge fan of Earl Thomas coming out of the draft.
