Basically. It was either that or no trading altogether. Compensation through the tags/tenders exist for a reason.
The idea of both the trading team and the receiving team getting hit for a 10m+ cap hit for the same player is pretty silly IMO.
I know I read this thread rather religiously, but some of the other GM's might not. I would suggest posting at least a snippet of this (if not the whole thing) sooner rather than later. Just so everyone is aware.
Not out of the realm of possibility. I have yet to get any real offers for him. Just a few people asking about him. I would wager I will end up trading him eventually, though based off of my GML history. I have a tendency to trade my best player.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, last year I basically didn't take any shots. I also got a couple more late round picks in return. If Jimmy G "doesn't turn out" I always have Cassel to back him up until I have a chance to get another franchise QB. Not mad about that trade at all, I love it
Can we all agree on the ruling that we cannot vote ourselves in for any category this year? You must vote for someone else in every category. I think that would be the most fair thing to do, no matter how strongly you feel about your team. If its mandatory for everyone, then no one will have a hissy fit.
It wasn't exactly directed towards you, so much as it was for the scenario that went down two years ago when people voted for themselves, then more people did it and it just wasn't a very credible voting system in my opinion.
While.. Right now you'd be hard pressed to top the Patriots trade of Garapolo for a first.. It does make me wonder what NE plans on doing for QB. JG seems to be the heir apparent... I know many NE fans who would castrate Belichick if he made that move. Brady isn't a spring chicken.. And chances of getting a guy like Garapolo to wait in the wings again... Are pretty slim. Right now.. I think the trade hurts NE.
I've gotten some amazing offers for OBJ over the last day from the Colts, Ravens, Lions, and Bengals. I'm still not sure I will trade him, but if you want to make an offer, go ahead. I will make a decision on if (and to who) I would move him by 10 CST tonight. Todd and Boik were the first to offer, so they will have to be beaten. This should add some excitement for all you tonight! That said, just to temper expectations, as I've been very transparent with everyone asking, at this point I'm 40/60 on not trading him.
Beckham is a flash in the pan, so what he made a couple lucky catches...one year wonder. ....I will begin packaging a deal ASAP.

I'm not turning this into Manning vs Tannehill... But It's amazing what having a non-idiot coaching staff will do for QBs like Manning and Rothles
Agreed. And I like Tannehill, I just find it insane you're going to give someone still relatively unproven something in the neighborhood of 15 a year.
