You mean ohi won in convincing fashion! http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/buckeyes-misspell-ohio-in-pre-game-celebration/
Should get the ball rolling on at least sign-ups etc. Just have to move a thread or 2 once they get around to the setup.
I'm going to send Crunch pictures of Urban Meyer hoisting the national championship trophy everyday until he opens the sub forum. Have a feeling that may get it done. (Or me banned)
I tried messaging Crunch, his inbox was full. But yes, I would agree, would like to get signups going at the very least.
Have you thought about just getting the initial sign-up, dolphins chosen and at least assign numbers while were waiting (can just move the threads later)? That way we can at least get into trying to guess what teams might be available in our general areas and research up while were waiting.
Because no one ever asks for my opinion, I'll give it. Draft Classes that I like: Denver: (#5) Teddy Bridgewater, (#13) Ha Ha Clinton-dix, (#48) Martavis Bryant, (#63) David Yankey As you can see they picked their players earlier then they were taken in the actual draft, but they added players that a team can build with and use. Teddy is on the all rookie team and pretty much the best QB of the draft class so far. Still a first round pick and definitely righted the wrong of Christian Ponder (who I hated back in 2011). Ha Ha is a great safety pick here and has some good numbers and really has stood out for the packers. Bryan is a bit early of a pick but 500+ yards and 8 TDs is good, especially for a WR with size that is helping the Steelers in their passing game. Should be really good down the line. David Yankey, well... maybe he'll develop later. We're all allowed one right? Atlanta: (#14) CJ Mosley (#42) Timmy Jernigan (#88) Jeremy Hill (119) Paul Richardson Atlanta definitely hit on their first three picks. Mosley was a DROTY candidate, Jernigan is going to be a solid DT and Jeremy Hill was the best rookie back. Haven't seen enough from Paul Richardson myself, but he was coming on late and it's Seattle, I never expect super impressive numbers from their passing game. I loathed Detroits, at one point they had #1 and #2 but somehow end up with Johnny Manziel and a couple of no namers. He was better in trades, but left quite a few holes to his team. If I had some of those picks you know there would have been a slew of picks to fill those holes, and with more effective players.
Whew. For sure I thought my draft was going to be pointed to ;p Detroit did flame out in excellent fashion.
Best of the FA signings: WR Julian Edelman - 972 Yards and 4 TD for $8,000,000 (Houston) Comparables: Hakeem Nick - 405 yards and 4 TDs for $5,000,000 (Jets), James Jones - 666 Yards and 6 TDs for $7,500,000 (Minnesota) Edelman was worth the extra cash as he was the highest paid FA, but it was a weak class overall. He started 13 of 14 games and barely missed out on a 1000 yards receiving. Meanwhile his closest comparables didn't match up as far as production with both Nicks and Jones playing in all 16 games. The difference is Nicks started 6 games, while Jones started 10. Lesson learned is, spend money on the WR that you expect to produce and not someone with a name who was productive in a system (Jones) or one that has shown nothing but decline since (Nicks). Best QB - Shaun Hill - 1657 passing yards, 8 TDs, 7 INTs QB RTG 83.9 for $495,000 (Patriots) Comparables: Michael Vick - 604 passing yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs, QB RTG 60.4 for $1,500,000 Big lesson here is don't expect a starter in FA, especially for QBs. Shaun Hill is the best bargain because Sam Bradford went down again and cost the league minimum. Oh those Patriots, finding steals. Vick was hardly worth the money, but got some starts in. Chad Henne had 3 starts but lost the job to Bortles as expected and the Jaguars still stink. Don't let your sons grow up to be GML FA QBs.
I didn't think it was terrible, but not what you want for 3 first round picks. I'm sure they'll pick up because they are back end first rounders. Course giving up JJ Watt, c'mon man. Seattle had a good draft too, but he'll tell you about it. However it isn't as great as he'll try to sell you on it (queue 10,000 word essay on why his draft was number, Iran number 1 -spits-). Of course you should make note Christine Michael is the second coming... Of course he gets TBay this year he'll tell you that Charles Sims is better then Warrick Dunn or Charlie Garner.
Yes, but I do have a schedule in mind and I probably won't feel the need to do that until late this weekend or early next week.
Well considering I started with Matt Schaub it could have been worse ;p At least Edleman got a QB who had a WR go for over 1100 yards and a TE who pretty nearly matched Edle's production. If there's one thing that's hard to do in this league it's get a QB when you have nothing. I think I did alright 2 years in a row while only spending a 2nd rounder each.
No one cares, talk to the man who had a running game of DeMarco Murray and Le'Veon Bell last year. lol.
Hey, everyone, look at this guy, he thinks he's funny? Not so funny when I come over there and kick you in the ***!
So I'm a fairly irregular poster here, although I lurk a fair bit. This sounds fun, but is there some way to figure out a rough idea about what's involved - what needs done when etc. I haven't really followed this in previous years so I'm not entirely sure what I'd be getting into. Sorry for the newbie-ish question.
The best way I can explain it is that it's sort of like offseason fantasy football. You take over an NFL team, and then you are responsible for that team's offseason, including cutting players under the cap, offseason trades, free agency, and the draft. It's typically pretty intense but it's a good way to kill time in the offseason. Usually starts just after the Super Bowl and wraps up right around the NFL draft. It's a lot of work, but a lot of fun.
Add in the fact we make A LOT of trades. Usually one day in this league has as much trade activity as 2-3 years of the NFL. Did I say we make A LOT of trades? Mostly though it passes time and is a way to interact with members of the site and hopefully learn a bit a long the way
