What is your highlight of the season? It can be team wise, player wise or personal. Mine would be taking my son to the Jet game at Metlife. Sitting there with so many Dolphin fans was thrilling. Then to sit through 3 horrible qrts of football and to take all the abuse from jet fans, only to take the lead late and end the game on a pick!. Dancing in our seats as we wave good bye to the jet fans as they slitthered out of the stadium. Was as high and excited and optimistic I was the entire season. Sadly, there really was not much else to choose from, besides some really good stretches of improved offensive football we have not seen in a long time.

Shutting out the Chargers. It has been a long time since I saw a Miami team play that good. They were efficient on offense, and a terror on defense. They looked like a legitimate playoff team at that moment.

Beating the Patriots and Chargers were the highlights of the season IMO.I laughed at the members who claimed who thought the Pats and Tomn Brady were done after that. Now they look to be the odds on favorite to win the SB with only the Seahawks in front to stop them.

I also laugh at the people who constantly say how well we match up with the Pats. We have been fortunate to have beat them once a year. But does anyone think we match up well with the post season Pats...those are the real Patriots. Chargers were our best all around game in years..close to my Highlight this year.

My highlight was going up 10 nothing on the Ravens and thinking we were going to be 8-5 after the Ravens went 3 and out on their first drives. My low light was losing to the Packers when I thought we had that game secure.

Most of the Denver game I wa thinking not only were we a playoff team, but that we could get in and make some noise in the AFC.

    I was wrong.

Week 11, coming off the Detroit loss which left us at 5-4 and playing the Buffalo Bills, a game some fans didn't think we'd win, and one in which Leodis McFumbles, er McKelvin, guaranteed the Bills would win with this memorable quote "Sh1t, we’re going to go out and beat that ***. Point blank. Period."

So Fins at home and both teams coming off losses. We were 5-4 and still in full control of our own destiny. In the first half, Bills CB Leodis McKelvin, who pledged his team would win in convincing fashion, left the game with an ankle injury while attempting to tackle Miller on a 2nd and 10 run play at our own 36 yard line. Leodis ended up getting juked into breaking his ankle and Miller had a 33 yard run on the play. Miller finished the game with 15 carries for 86 yards and 5.7 avg. McKelvin finished on IR.

In the second half, we scored 4 times, going 19-0 over the final 18 minutes with Landry diving into the end zone for a fourth-quarter touchdown. Tannehill finished 26/34 240 yards and 2 TDs and a 114.8 PR despite being sacked 5 times. The Defense held the Bills to 54 yards rushing and 193 yards passing.

After the game, it was announced that McKelvin had been diagnosed with a fractured ankle and would be on IR the rest of the season. When asked, Odrick said his "a$$ feels fine."

Good Win, solid all around play. Good times.

I'd have to agree. That game was glorious. Especially with all the praise Rivers and SD were getting at the time. Throw in beating the Pats Week 1 too. Also... I guess the first 55 minutes (or whatever it was) of the Denver game. I know they just layed an egg in the playoffs, but that was a damn good football team that we hung right in there with.

I do believe we match up well with the Pats personnel-wise. I don't think we match up well with them coaching-wise.

The Dayton Flyers (my alma mater) making the Elite 8 (and looking strong so far this year)...oh, you said Dolphins highlight?

Dolphins-wise my buddy and I went to the game in Detroit this year. We've been friends since 3rd grade. He's a die-hard Lions fan and threatened to make me walk home if Miami won, but it was still a good game and we had a blast. Met some other Dolphins fans at HockeyTown USA Cafe before and traded some stories over a few brews.

I guess overall, seeing Ryan Tannehill take a bigger step forward than he did last year. That's about the best I can muster given the state of the team and finishing 8-8 with Philbin NOT being fired.

That's very sad or totally untrue. Even following this team when they are mediocre or bad is a joy to me. Not one highlight or moment that brought you joy? That is honestly sad or you are just trying to stay in character.

Seems like the less the Dolphins give us on the field, our best moments as fans are days spent watching them with family and friends.Someday soon, we will have some great moments on the field to share with them....I remember them vaguely in the 70's and the 80's.

Agreed. I usually try and make a trip to one Dolphins game each year. My dad and I went to a game in 2004, and since then I've made it to a game every year except 2008 and 2009. Probably going to go to Tennessee next year since I've got a few friends in Nashville. I think so far, my favorite Dolphins memories would be the "Leon Lett game", Dan Marino's playoff comeback against Seattle in his final year, the Denver game in 2002, and seeing them beat Green Bay in 2010 - my friend and I went to the Ohio State vs. Wisconsin (UW upset OSU when the Buckeyes were ranked #1) game the night before and somehow made it to Lambeau and didn't miss kickoff. We agreed that since we "split" the weekend, each of us got the appropriate victory.

I loved that Lamar finally broke a long one, too bad it came in a meaningless game at the end of the year that we lost. Completely embarrassing the chargers was great too, I'm in LA and have a ton of friends from San Diego that I mercilessly clowned after we shut them out.

I skipped the Detroit game this year, I probably shouldnt have, but the way we lost that one, I'm glad I stayed home. I'll likely hit up the Tennessee game next year as well since my wife is a Titans fan. I guess it all depends when the game is. I'm hoping its early in the year so the weather is nice for the drive and we can make a weekend out of it in Nashville

Being from N.Y, I try to make it down for one game a year, with my family and my brother's family. We once flew down for a game on a sunday morning, Phins won in OT, ran right to the airport to fly back home since we all had work on Monday morning...nuts. This year was the time to finally see them in N.Y. The picture in my avatar is of me and my son right after they won on Monday night. BTW, my son told me after that game that taking him to that game and the Dolphins winning was his greatest highlight of being a fan....hence MY biggest highlight of the year.

If you're feeling up to it and don't mind a bit of a drive, I'd check out the University of Tennessee's home schedule. Knoxville is FANTASTIC (2nd only to Madison, WI in my opinion) for tailgaiting and tickets are relatively cheap. Cumberland Avenue is basically the Las Vegas strip of central Tennessee.

I'm trying to convice a few of my friends to do just that if the schedules work out.

Destroying the Chargers was probably it. That and realizing, as the season progressed, that Tannehill is the future at QB.

That's good stuff. Sadly, I've only been to one Dolphins home game. I've seen them play in Cincinnati three times, Houston twice, Indianapolis twice, Chicago, Green Bay, Detroit, and New York. I need to get back down to Miami for a game sometime, and I do remember one time my uncle and I were at a game in Houston having to go straight from the game to the airport to catch a flight back home. Would have been worth it if the Texans didn't absolutely own Miami.

Only reason I finally gave in to going to Metlife was because we were sitting with over 2,000 other Dolphin fans. Great to see the sacrifice some of us fans do to follow this passion we have. I have always liked your views and posts...now I have even more respect for you seeing the efforts you have made. I try to respect all other posters but have a special fondness for those that talk the talk and walk the walk...whether it is attending games or watching every minute on TV.

Definitely week 1, defeating the New Brady Bradies. I didn't think New Brady was "done" at that point, but I thought the division title might actually be a race rather than another annual Brady victory parade it has been nearly every year.

It's really cool that you got to share that moment with your son. Going to games with my dad was always really special, regardless of what happened on the field.

The highlight for me was after Week 17, not having to watch this mediocre team play another down. Unfortunately being the masochist that I am I will be watching them again next season.

Week 1 beatdown of New England. The blocked punt early in the game made me think this season was going to be special, and then we get a full dose of Knowshon. Next week, we lose him to injury against Buffalo and the thread unravels from there.
