Only thing I'm concerned about is how serious this league will be this year. I've enjoyed partaking in the GML for the last two years, but the league on TP last year looked crazy ridiculous and that's nothing against Paul. I think keeping dead money included will weed out the people who don't grasp GMing very well and it would allow for more serious people to play. And if that happens, I feel like we will have GMs who will be more involved through out the entirety of the process.

Hypothetically, if dead money is used, would there be post June 1 designations to cut the dead money in half?.... or possibly make all dead money halved? Doesn't it make Free Agency more enjoyable, active, and longer if there's less dead money involved?

How can we do post June 1 cuts in a 1 year league? The whole point of post June 1 cuts is to allow you to split the dead money between two years

Speak with GIK on that, but we did them last year with no problem.

How did that work out with cap strapped teams? Did it force them to move some players they might not have if they had cap room? Or did they just sit tight and not really make many moves because they were strapped?

Right now what I intend to have is two post June 1 cuts per team for players that are originally on your team (ie, you cannot trade for a player then designate him as a post June 1 cut). This would cut their dead money charge in half. The deadline for these cuts are before the start of cut free agency. This will sweeten the pot for cut players free agency and give cash strapped teams a better opportunity to get under the cap.

I'm looking at allow teams to trade players without any dead money penalty up to two times. For example, JJ Watt could be traded from Houston to Dallas without any penalty. Watt could then be traded from Dallas to Miami without any penalty. However if Miami were to trade Watt then they would eat the dead money penalty. This will allow teams to flip assets that were attained if they so choose.

This will all work fine and people will get used to it. It adds more strategy to the game and it won't negatively effect free agency. You may not see as much inflation this year as in past years but that is fine with me.

I will also allow IRL restructures likely however they will have to occur before the start of cut free agency (so pretty much in February) for it to have any effect in the GML.

There will be no rollover or existing dead money. The cap will be set the exact same for every team; which is likely $140M or so.

I know that this isn't going to be a simulation style league but it's going to have the best of both worlds (simulation/arcade) so things may not be exact to the tee as how it works in the NFL for a variety of reasons... ala June 1 cuts.

Sounds good and gives cap strapped teams enough to wiggle out and at least be able to play some in FA.

On another topic.....whose throwing their name in the ring for the Dolphins? Kinda curious to see roughly how big our "playoff" pool will be.

it forced people to make moves. I'd definitely suggest those teams go to people looking for a challenge or if time is tight or want a huge project (so they won't overhaul the roster if not needed for tight time, and it could easily be turned into a huge rebuild too in terms of dismantling for your huge project)

Will be hard since it's all going to be drafted selections.

I can't wait to see who the last team is...that dreaded team no one wanted ;p

    Saints!

Well, people could use their draft pick to select a challenge. If I was playing, and not as the Raiders, and I picked say 10th (or 1st, or whatever early pick) I'd pull the Saints or the Cowboys solely for the perceived difficulty.

I'm bored at work and want to talk football.

Thoughts on Odell Beckham Jr since the season is over?

I saw he was taken 18th on the TP draft last year. I traded up to take him at 2.33 in the other league we were in. Draft steal of the year?
