    Right?

This is about having solid talent. We had a solid starting oline, but thanks to Ireland's poor team building skills, we couldn't bring in enough depth. The line took the biggest hit it could and literally from that point on, our offense declined as did our wins. Albert stays healthy, Philbin is a genius.

There are many, many, places to point, coaching is the most convenient. For many.

There is speculation that the staff is staying in place. I will be disappointed if we cannot AT LEAST upgrade Coyle.

    Agreed.

I've been listening to the same story for over a decade now.

Simple logic says it's a highly complex system. Simpleton logic says, 'fire everyone!'

I generally agree but I do expect a splash in FA. I think Ross will push for that to try and generate positive buzz especially after the decision to retain Philbin. I could see them pursuing AP or Suh as splash signings.

I hope they don't do that.

It's those stupid moves that wind up in huge contracts for average players.

Avoiding those opening day signings, wrought with panic as they are, would be a good sign for me that the team actually knows what the hell it's doing.

Wow, imagine Suh and Wake together in the same D-line. That would be extremely hard to gameplan for... we might also go after a LB and CB early in the draft, along with all our guys coming back from injury, Will Davis, Michael Thomas, a healthy Chris McCain. If Coyle can't make a top 5 defense out of that...

No on AP, yes on Suh.

We solidify the oline with some depth and get a cheap RZ threat. We'll be elite.

Maybe Gurley drops with that nasty injury he had.

I think AP is more realistic than Suh. AP is the kind of big name Ross would want Hickey to go after. I'm also guessing they're more concerned with Suh's on the field behavior than AP's legal problems.

And how many times you gonna take that left jab to the face before you start to duck?

Philbins issues arent imaginary. Nobody wants a coach fired for the sake of it. But when you make the decision to start Dallas Thomas over Jason Fox in two season critical games, watch Thomas get obliterated, then watch Fox play light years better..its the same story with Philbin. To slow to make necessary changes. Stubborn to a fault. The dned rotation of the line does not work. But we still do it. Last years Go Go, where everyone and their mother knew our snap count.but doesnt change it. Kodak..which blew up in our face twice this season..so dont act like we are stark raving lunatics for wanting him gone.

Philbin will most likely retain Coyle, whos defenses have gotten worse every season he is here. Our personel favors a move to 3/4..but Coyle is 4/3 so will never happen.

Why are people assuming that Branden Albert is just going to come back from that knee injury and be Branden Albert?
He broke both bones in his leg and tore his ACL/MCL. That's not exactly rehab and come right back in.
There's going to be some time taking to get back. At the very least, he isn't going to be Branden Albert of 2014 next year. I think that is very safe to assume.

Does Orlando Franklin qualify as a splash signing?

Is he legitimately good or is the product of Peyton Manning running the offense?

I honestly don't know. I'm pretty much scared of anyone who's going to get big money after playing with Peyton Manning. I mean, Peyton always get his O-line in order.
