whether on this is realistic or not here is what I might like to happen .

trade for ADRIAN PETERSON and draft a late round running back cut Daniel Thomas .

add two vet olinemen and draft two olinemen maybe three linemen.

fire the entire coaching staff except maybe Lazar keep Hickey unless it keeps us from landing J.H.

Cut the entire linebacking crop and rebuild the defense.

add a second qb to stiffen up the qb competition next season.

most of all I want to stop losing to new England and blowing leads .

how unrealistic is this that I want.

I'd like Peterson but I doubt they go for a guy with a public image problem after last years headache.
I think the linemen are a necessity.
im ok keeping Lazor and Hickey (if the new HC is ok with Lazor)
Can't afford to spend a high draft pick on a guy just to push Tanny.
Id keep Jenkins and hopefully the staff will use Jordan correctly and move him to OLB

DT is the best back on the roster and is very good. He should be kept. The other two not so much.

Clean the whole house. No half measures. Let the HC choose his assistants and find a compatible GM.

When I look at the team, this is the core group I see:

    QB - Tannehill
    RB - Miller
    OT - Albert & James
    OC - Pouncey
    TE - Clay & Sims
    WR - Landry

Clear needs on offense are OG and WR.

    DE - Wake & Vernon
    DT - Odrick & Mitchell
    LB - Jenkins & Misi
    S - Jones & Delmas
    CB - Grimes & Davis

Clear needs on defense are DT, OLB, CB

    Personally speaking...

I'd trade Wake for draft picks and move forward with Vernon & Jordan as the franchise pass rushers.
I'd trade Wallace for draft picks and get a cheaper alternative with a bigger body.
I'd flip a coin on Hartline and Gibson and keep one for continuity's sake, while getting rid of the other to open up a spot for a new-comer.

I think your core is pretty tight

I'd add Moreno to your list. I think when he gets back he will be a beast. He was on the verge before getting hurt

F no on Peterson. I'd rather see the team go 0-16 than bring that bastard on board.

    - Fire the coaching staff
    - Hire Gus Malzahn as HC, Rex Ryan as DC. If Malzahn turns us down, Rex Ryan as HC. Let the coach pick their own GM (maybe that's Hickey?)
    - Convert to a 3-4. We should be able to do that easily enough.
    - Cut all the big cap players we can afford to get rid of
    - Resign the important players
    - Draft/sign FA LB's, pass rushers, CB, and guards.
    - ???
    - Profit

Adrian Peterson? Well, I mean, he's no Daniel Thomas but he's probably got a couple solid years left.

We should cut Ellerbe and Wheeler and pick up a couple linebackers...

But I'm not cutting Jenkins, McCain or Misi, no sir!!

Rex will get HC offers. His rapport with the players and his early success in NY will earn him that.

I see no reason why Rex Ryan wouldn't be on the top of our list. This team is not devoid of talent or ability, we're devoid of passion and leadership. Those are Rex's best qualities.

The loss today sent him over the edge. Sad really, he was full of life and had so much left to live for. Sad story...

And if Ryan Tannehill isn't the solution we have another wasted season. I agree that we need a competition at quarterback.

Jim Harbaugh got swept by a division rival, with that roster that Baalke put together. Jim Harbaugh is a clown man! Niners scored whoping 10 pts in 2 games against the Seahawks. Jim Harbaugh cant coach. His best bet is to go to the FO and apologize for being an arse and a bad coach, and ask for forgiveness from Baalke and the owner, because he will never in his life get a better opportunity to play a make believe coach for a more stacked team.

You'd have to draft a guy pretty high for him to be any real competition for tannehill. And that would be an idiotic use of a draft pick given our oline issues, we need a FS, and linebackers.

    Exactly.

And the problem with bringing in late-round prospects or UDFAs is that they don't get a fair shake because the coaches are completely tied up in developing the #1 guy.

Agree completely. There are no sacred cows, no one who "HAS" to be back next year. No one in this organization is special. Not the HC, not the OC, not the DC, not the QB, not the WRs, no one on defense. If the HC wants to keep anyone, say RT for example, I put him on two year lease. If you keep RT, you have two years or you are gone.

    Three things?

    1) Philbin and staff gone (Lazor optional to new HC and his own wishes)
    2) A WR who has size/speed/hands. I guess asking for a Dez Bryant or Calvin Johnson is a lot but even a poor mans version would be nice.
    3) A playmaking MLB to replace Misi or kick him outside. Misi has been alright to very good at times but he cant stay healthy.
