Is the deep ball that important?

I don't think you can really give too strong an impression that Wallace wasn't getting deep targets. He was getting a fair amount still in 2012, but he did lack Bruce Arians doing what it took to make a player like him productive deep.

Ultimately though, Wallace has been successful as a deep threat with just one of his four professional offensive coordinators, where we've seen him struggle at it with both Big Ben and Tannehill as QBs.

Is this the game we're talking about?

I will say, I remember they connected on two 40+ yard passes that game which was nice. Unfortunately, we still lost. Shouldn't have ****ing lost.

The offense had the first change to ice the game.

I like the rule if the OFFENSE scores 21 points and team loses it is on the defense. If they score less then 21 and the team loses it is on the offense. That seems fair to me.

Why was he known as a deep ball threat before coming here then?

I'd push that to 24. I prefer high scoring football.

You're contradicting yourself. They had more than 21 against Green Bay and Denver.

It's a matter of him being a subject of a narrow range of favorable circumstances. He had a QB with extraordinary deep accuracy and an offensive coordinator who was willing to do a lot to get him open. Losing one of those things basically eliminated him as a deep threat in Pittsburgh.

Wallace basically only has speed. That's not enough on its own.

If you're looking for a guy to replace what Wallace does long term I'd look to Phillip Dorsett from the Hurricanes. He's not a polished route runner but I've yet to see a corner who can run with him deep. Could be worth a mid-late pick if we don't go WR early.

The fact Wallace is supposedly up there with Elite Speed going by Arizona Cards CB Petersons comments lately. Tannehill has NOT got the deep ball in his armoury. FACT! It is what it is. If you have 50.cal ammo and a 5.56mm expert behind the trigger then you are missing the target. Tannehill does best what his armory allows. Wallace is the weak link if the Phins are going with Tanny long term.

Yes. Wouldn't it be nice to have a TD drive of less than 3 plays?

One word..YES. It would be nice to have a home run play. Out of interest, what is the Dolphins longest Offensive play going into December regarding the fact we supposedly have one of the fastest speed WR merchants on the team?

Big Ben is just really good at hitting that deep ball. He just hit Martavis today for 90+ yards on one throw?
