if you think they won have all the other games with luck....yes, meanwhile oakland was in many games until the end
I think it is safe to say that the Eagles/Titans game is irrelevant. The Lions and Patriots game is going to be very interesting and could be very telling on whether or not Bellycheat has an answer for a great defense shutting his offense down like we did in week 1. I hope the Lions take care of business, but either way the Dolphins can learn a lot from this game. I think the Texans have a good chance of beating the Bengals, it would be awesome if the Rams beat the Chargers. I can't believe I have to root for the Jets again. And I think the Saints will "flip their switch" and take care of the Ravens for us. I don't know what to think about the Falcons/Browns game and I think the Colts are definitely going to beat the Jaguars but hopefully the Jags are inspired by the Raiders. We all know division games are tough.
No way we are catching the Pats to take over the division. Thought Pats online was supposed to be a problem?
Well, looking like zero help so far. That's awesome. The most important games IMO are ours, the Chiefs' and Ravens', so hopefully the three that matter most go our way.
Mike Smith is worse than Joe Philbin with his clock management, the idiot called a timeout with 55 seconds left when they were in FG range
The fact that we beat the Chargers 37-0 but they're ahead of us in the playoff standings. They're 7th seed & we dropped to 10th. Playoffs are a far reach for this team. Plus all these injuries, the little optimism that I had is completely gone.
Just knew the Falcons would falter to the Browns even after taking a lead that late... This season and last season, that Falcons defense looks like the worst ever when it comes to allowing last-minute comebacks to the opposition in the waning moments of the 4th. Miami knows....
Bengals 8-3-1 over the Steelers 7-5 Colts 8-4 over the Browns 7-5 Jaguars 2-10 over the Texans 6-6 Broncos 9-3 over the Bills 7-5 Cardinals 9-3 over the Chiefs 7-5 Chargers 8-4 over the Patriots 9-3
Steelers, Browns, Bills, maybe even the Chiefs, are in trouble this week. No way the Pats lose 2 in a row, unfortunately, but if the planets are aligned and they DO...oh hell... Jags over the Texans...hmm...divisional game...Jags have nothing to lose...Houston has everything to gain...THAT may be an ugly, scrappy, smash-face game.
If the Patriots beat the Chargers & we beat the Ravens I think we move into the 5th seed. Chargers conference record would be 6-4 ours would be 7-3.
So we could win this weekend and easily lose the sixth seed. This tiebreaker-rigamarole is irksome. If Pitt wins they jump ahead of us. If Pitt wins, and the Colts beat the Browns, then KC also leapfrogs us if it beats ARI. The Bills game doesn't affect our seeding this week, but it could down the line if we finish with the same record. As far as I can tell, if we win, we remain ahead of the Browns no matter what happens. The most important game to us, besides ours, looks like Pitt v CIN, because if CIN wins and we win, we are playoff-bound for one more week regardless of the outcomes of any other games. (I think.) (Edited.)
Where are you getting your info from? I'm doing the ESPN playoffs machine here and we still got the 6th seed with Pitt winning and the Colts winning.. unless there's something wrong with it... Check out the tiebreakers [h=2]AFC Tiebreakers [/h] 2nd Seed - New England AFC East Champ Wins tie break over Denver and Indianapolis based on head-to-head sweep. 3rd Seed - Denver AFC West Champ (Wins tie break over San Diego based on best win percentage in division games.) Wins tie break over Indianapolis based on head-to-head win percentage. 6th Seed - Miami Wins tie break over Kansas City and Pittsburgh based on best win percentage in conference games. Division tie break was initially used to eliminate Baltimore (Pittsburgh wins tie break over Baltimore based on best win percentage in division games).
Actually, I thought I saw it, but I think you're right. If we win out, we should be in. This is some convoluted fish food.
IF the Steelers win the next 4 games, 10-6 might not make it, but it looks like it'll sort itself out in the last week when the Bengals play the Steelers... in that case, if the Bengals win, they take the division, the Steelers take the 6th seed and we move up to the 5th... if the Steelers win, the Bengals are eliminated from the playoffs and we take the 6th seed with KC as the 5th. If we run the table, though, I think we are pratically guaranteed a spot.
I believe it's if we're the only two teams with the same record. They'd have us with the head-to-head win. I think...
I think the only important thing to realize is that 10-6 isn't a sure-fire guarantee to make the playoffs. In fact, I would guess that a 10-6 is going to miss the playoffs this year.
