Probably not... The first half of season 3 is really good. The second half is sloooow. Much like Season 2. Only two standout episodes (Clear, This Sorrowful life) and a really disappointing finale. A bait and switch IMO. Season 4 is the opposite. Starts out slow, gets better. Season 5 has been very good, aside from one episode, which featured a character so terrible, her own "sister" doesn't give a **** about her. Given what I know about your taste in TV shows (which is pretty good, IMO), I can't recommend it for you. There are only a few characters that are really interesting, most are somewhat one dimensional and fill a cliched role. Think of TWD as a Michael Bay film. It's not terribly deep, but there are cool moments, and occasionally, everything comes together to be really satisfying. Other times, you're better off not thinking because the characterization, motivation, etc... feels incomplete. Probably because there are way too many episodes (16) per year. This show would do well to trim the fat and combine various characters together and streamline stories to about 10-12 episodes. Season 3 is a great example. First 8 episodes were strong. The next 8 episodes, only two rose to that level. I do like the EP/Showrunner Scott Gimble though. I think he's been an improvement. The episodes he writes are by far the best on the series, outside of the pilot. And he has actually made Walkers a viable threat again. Seasons 3-4 (and 5 so far) are better than season 2. But if you start watching again, don't expect a completely different show.
I'd say no. If you're not interested enough after the first 1.5 seasons, then it's not worth your time.
I've had friends that skipped season 2/3 and just started watching season 4. Just read the spoilers online and do that if you're that interested.
There's no way that van would have landed on its wheels. But I do like that they have gone into the city. Sure the special effects aren't the greatest, but I agree that they're better than when the show first started. Their effects' team is bigger, the budget has gone up no doubt. But if you're watching this show for the effects, you need to go watch something else. Seems a major theme in the show this season is comparing the characters now to what they were at the start of the zombie apocalypse.
So they go from the Termites to the Hospitalites. Noah is the guy with Darryl at the end of Episode 3 and Rick and Crew head back into Atlanta to save Beth and Carol. Predictable script. What's not predictable is how they do it and how the main group and Abraham's Group re-unite. I suspect we won't see the group together until the second half of the season. I'm curious how Morgan fits into this as he's following the Termite signs but if Rick's group goes into Altanta next episode I doubt they'd feel the need to return to that wooded area near Terminus. I would hope we'd see Morgan again before the mid-season break.
I doubt they would risk the lives of the entire group by sending everyone to Atlanta, they'll probably leave people like Carl, Judith, Father Gabriel, Tyreese, etc at the church. Wouldn't be surprised if we seen Morgan at the mid-season finale... but also wouldn't be surprised if it was just a tease to get people talking.
yeah, landing on its wheels was a bit silly, especially since the injury to Carol, caused by the seat belt, would correspond better to landing on it's front end. the zombies in the sleeping bags was amusing.

I didn't really get that. He seemed like a cool dude. And Noah vouched for him. I guess if he were really a "bad guy" he could have hurt Sasha more once she was on the ground. Maybe he knew he was dead if the trade went through? Those other cops would of ratted him out maybe?
anyone notice that the new background melody in the new season is almost the same as the background melody in the Last of Us video game? sounds like they slightly altered it.
I did. Looks like someone is going to look for Rick and the crew. I wasn't sad about Beth, but then my wife tells me she is the one person who had hope and a positive attitude.
yeah we saw Morgan again. Makes me wonder how much time has passed between our regular cast leaving the church and Morgan seeing it. There were some clues... the rabbit's foot, bullet (and I forget the third thing). There's some symbolism there from his prior episodes I'm assuming. Although he found the map to Washington DC where he now thinks Rick is headed. Morgan looks at peace though (shushing that walker before he knifes it)... which is good. I get the feeling that he is going to "save" Rick, as I think Rick has been "out here too long."
Great episode last night, imo. Spoiler Beth almost always had the smallest role as a regular character since she got introduced in Season 2, so it wasn't the end of the world. I'm guessing Morgan isn't a 'Section 8' anymore like he was a couple seasons ago when Rick found him holed up. I've liked this season so far, better than the last one. Gotta wait 3 months now to finish it.
A bit of a spoiler. That entire Hospital storyline seems like a plot device to finally get the group to leave Georgia. Eugene was lying but his goal still was to go to the DC area. That's where the group needs to go now.
Nope... Just went to youtube. Good looks. Morgan is rocking the Book of Eli attire now, I see. Glad the cops story line is wrapped up (or is it? I hope...) and we can move on to whatever comes next.
My wife was upset, not because Beth was killed, but because Darryl would be sad. I thought it was going to be Sasha.
Post credit video for those who missed.
it really does make you wonder how much time has passed with that Morgan clip. The only walker he encounters is lying on its back unable to move... we don't see the whole walker, so we don't know what condition its in. Is it incapacitated because its out of energy/food or does it not have legs? We know walkers are getting slower and slower. Is this clip a shot into the future... many many years into the future?
Anyone else love Rick running over Bob? Broke his spine, mocked him, shot him, like a boss. Rick isn't ****ing around anymore. He's starting to take on Shane traits and I'm liking him more and more.
not enough that the Dolphins basically got eliminated from the playoffs yesterday that I then can't watch the Walking Dead because it's on the winter hiatus.
What a kick in the balls. I didn't see that coming. Not sure how I feel about it either. While I get why it happened and how it fits the current narrative, I thought we would see an evolution of the character rather than the downfall. I liked the actor too. Shame.
its kind of the routine of the show now. they take a character that is just in the background and kill them off but before they do they make an entire episode dedicated to him/her to make you feel bad about the death but to me its cheap in all honesty.
Alright, Couple of questions. Who sabotaged the little defense they had set up? Looked like it was blown up with explosives, no? http://gyazo.com/7f331e470ee19560d05f0879f025a4fe Also, what's up with all of the cut off zombie torsos? They showed that and in the end they hit a car where bunch of them fell out. This doesn't feel like an easter egg, I feel like there's something to it.
1) I agree with Clark Kent that yesterdays episode was a total nut shot. 2) I'm with TiP, I didnt understand all the cut torsos, limbs scattered on the ground, and zombie bodies in the truck. (It kind of told me someone was alive in that area, maybe Morgan? However, im sure I am probably wrong) 3) Should be a good second half to the season.
yeah I feel sick. He lets his guard down looking at the twins in the pictures. Where was Noah's picture by the way? The other twin brother (one was dead on the bed) was stuck behind that door... how'd he get out? Noah can't be trusted... we should execute him now.
Tyreese heard it on the radio when he was dying. Cannibalism is breaking out across the region. Looked like the group of "meat" eaters went into that gated neighborhood and took what they wanted (the bodies)... then it appears they didn't make it out alive (crashed).
Doubt its Morgan, timelines don't match up. Remember, when they kept showing him in previous episodes, directors made sure to highlight the fact that he was weeks, or even months behind Rick and Co. Then at the very end, they showed him finding the map at the church saying that world is going to need more of people like Rick after they reach Washington (im paraphrasing) so while intially i didn't understand them going to Virginia, now that they set their destination to DC, it makes sense that Morgan will catch up with them there.
I took the radio as being a hallucination, just like seeing everyone else talking to him because you can't hear it in the other scenes with the other characters, plus, i don't think anyone is broadcasting at this point anyway. Also, I thought the radio voice was basically rehashing the initial outbreak. (basically from Tyreses memory)
Gotcha, I wasnt sure, I was spitballing some ideas, I appreciate you clearing that up for me to, thanks.
hmmm yeah you're probably right... on another note, they mentioned on Talking Dead that the zombie halves in that truck had "W's" on them. Seen that before I think? On the tree when Bob went missing no?
