That's some reporting right there I'll tell ya..Jesus that's irresonsible amateurish, there's nothing factual about the title..it's complete speculation based on that we're 6 and 4 and his wife wants to stay in that area..

Sparano just has to be like, "Oh, come on, really? This guy again!"

Well at least this time he is officially the "interim" head coach. So that should make him feel some better....I guess.

Harbaugh is going to get plenty of job offers if he leaves the 49er's after this season. While his wife might want to stay in the Bay area, I just don't see him having much interest in taking the Raiders job.

They are a lousy organization at this time and there is no guarantee they are going to remain in Oakland. The ownership of the Raiders have already had two meetings with the officials in San Antonio, Texas. It doesn't appear that the officials in Oakland have any interest in spending money on a new or renovated stadium for the Raiders organization.

Mrs Harbaugh might want her husband to take the Raiders job now, but how is she going to feel when the team moves out of the Bay area in the next few years?

I think if Harbaugh doesn't decide to go back to college and take the job at Michigan, he will probably end up next year with the Jets or Giants. Both those teams will likely be looking for new head coaches after this season and Harbaugh would probably love to get one of those high profile jobs.

Personally I hope it isn't the Jets job he takes. I think he is one of the top head coaches in the NFL and I think he could do for the Jets what Belichick has done for the Patriots. He might be an A**hole, but he also is a head coach who has proved that he can win in the NFL on a consistent basis.

The biggest A**hole in the entire coaching profession is Nick Saban, but because he wins games, he could leave Alabama and have his pick of any other job in major college football. Harbaugh might be viewed in a similar fashion to Saban in regards to his behavior, but like Saban, he will have plenty of job offers if he does depart from the 49er's after this season. Because he does the one thing every NFL owner demands from their head coach. His teams win more games than they lose and they consistently make the playoffs.

You guys really think Philly boy is getting fired? You are nuts if so.

Miami this year could have been tied for 1st in the AFC right now you think dumbo ross will fire the HC?

I don't like Philbin 1 bit but knowing our dumb owners history of stupidity and knowing how liked this HC is in the FO eyes you have to go 4-12 to see Philly Boy gone.

Good. Jim Harbaugh is a douche-bag.

He needs to go back to college.

He would be dumb if he fired Joe Philbin after continued improvement, just when its all looking like it's coming together.

There hasn't been a coach everyone liked since Shula. I don't see Joe getting fired.
Wanny, JJ, Satan, Fistbump and the other interim coaches.... Someone, somewhere will find stuff to ***** about.
We have something in Philbin now that is pretty good and making a change "again" might not be a good idea with the HC.
I just hope to keep this coaching/ GM nucleus together for at least another season or two.

Everyone was feeling pretty good about the job Philbin was doing last season when we were 8-6 and one game away from the playoffs. Two weeks later, not so much. Let's see how we finish the season.

We should probably get past the point where we can reasonably assume this team will **** the bed before we start talking about keeping Philbin.

    But then again, Stephen Ross.

I'll pass on sweatervest/turtleneck/visor boy who can't stop grabbing his crouch on the sideline. His routine is already wearing out at Auburn.

Its a meaningless statement at this stage. If the Dolphins do a belly flop like last year things can change dramatically.

6-4 is a long way from the playoffs. As we've seen as recent as last year, all it takes is a couple of bad games against teams you should beat and a season can go down the drain. I think we are very close to being a really good team so I'd say there is a good chance Philbin keeps his job.

Barring a complete collapse this team is on an upswing. Canning Philbin for winning 8 or 9 games would just get the Dolphins back to where they started.

Not really, it would depend on who the choice would be. Again, it is too early to talk about a change at this point. It seems as though we are getting better each week and have a very strong team. I think the season has to play out before we know.

First of all, how is 8 or 9 wins some sort of upswing? It's pretty much the exact same performance we've gotten from Philbin's team, and within a small range of variation from what we had previously.

You certainly can't write off a collapse, either. Philbin's teams are essentially characterized by violently excreting any momentum and collapsing after a hot streak, sometimes multiple times in one season.

What? Is going 6-4 our new standard? I think (and I hope) JP had to go 4-2 the rest of the way to keep his job. anything less than that is cringe worthy, in my opinion. Does anyone want Philbin around if the best he can muster this year is 9 -7? I have no idea if Harbaugh should be the solution if Philbin does not cut it.but I know that Philbin should not be back unless this team makes the playoffs.

Sure, no one is on the 'radar' for a job that isn't even open...yet... The team has played typical 'Philbin' football. Do just enough to stay afloat. I don't think I have the disgusting taste of the last two games of the 2013 season out of my mouth...in fact I throw up a little every time I mention it... Philbin is not going to get fired UNLESS the team tanks a few games at the end of the season and end up 8-8 again... What will likely happen is that they will end up 9-7 and out of the playoffs (likely because we lost a game or two to the jests) and Philbin will keep his job...

Do I think he deserves to be fired, no not really but at the same time, this team just seems to come up flat when you'd think just the opposite...The remainder of this season will tell and maybe someday, I'll get the taste of those 2013 games out of my mouth...

During this 5 game stretch the team hasn't come out flat at all... the worse you can say is that we haven't come out of the gates firing on all cylinders, but we have been adjusting well and performing spectacularly in the second half. We'll see what happens in the remainder of the season, but so far, based purely on performance, Philbin should keep his job. And this is coming from a guy who doesn't like Philbin too much...

We won 8 games last season. Winning 8 games this season would be stagnation, not an upswing. Frankly, I haven't seen a lot of evidence that we've greatly improved over last year. We've shown incremental improvements and that might be enough for a win or two more, hopefully. If Phlibin gets us into the playoffs, I'm all for keeping him. If he can't, he should be fired.
