Not to mention, Wallace was adept at getting open deep, as someone else said in another thread, on broken plays where Rapistberger went all sandlot on people. I still think that we need to utilize Wallace on deep posts and crossing patterns, not on sideline fly routes...

Wallace and Hartline won't finish contracts either. Have approx 7 million in cap space for 2015, while only frees up cap space of Wallace 5.25 & Hartline 3.1 if cut and not restructured for 2015. Clears their complete 21.25 per year (13.7&7.55) for 2016 & 2017. .

I'm not sure if those numbers are correct?

Spot Rac has Brian Hartline counting $7.35 million against the cap in 2015 with no dead money, we would save that number cutting him.

Mike Wallace counts $12.1 million with $9.6 in dead money, so he'd save only $2.5 million. My understanding though is if you cut him and give him a post-June 1st designation, you only take the dead money for that year which means you would save $6.9 million in '15, but you'd carry $4.4 in dead money the next year.

I've said this since we signed Wallace. Run corner routes from the slot, but to the far corner. Run sharp posts to the far post, give them both all that room to work with

As Hartline made his token play of the season, I was quoting Bear Bryant in Forest Gump - "Run, you SOB, run!!!"

Who cares about week 17 in an old offense and during a different time. Just stop man. It's not "fine" that our starting perimeter receiver [who is afforded lots of beneficial single coverage opposite Wallace] is 4th on the team in targets, 4th in yards, 4th in receptions, 6th in receiving YAC, 5th in TDs, and has as many 20+ yard receptions as Daniel Thomas and Damien Williams. That's so inefficient it's not funny.

He doesn't belong on the field as a starter, and he doesn't belong on the roster for $30 million. By comparison, if Wallace saw the coverage Hartline benefits from, he'd have 900+ yards and 10+ TDs right now, and one of the reasons we're not seeing many explosive plays from Wallace is because no team in the league worries about #82, so they can afford to key on Wallace. That's why we're stuck with the piano-pulling Hartline running Lazor's well dialed-up crossing route last night while Wallace is relegated to clearing it out as usual instead of running it himself and taking it to paydirt. Hartline would have to whip his d*** out or something to get a safety to look at him.

The #4 guy in the target pecking order should be complimenting the other players and helping them reach their max potential while bringing something to the table they lack. Either that or he should be the guy groomed to eventually replace Wallace. In case you weren't aware, entering last night's game, Miami was #1 in the league in trips to the redzone. Lazor and the offense can move the ball between the 20's just fine. What it has trouble with is closing out drives and converting 3rd & 8+, both of which Hartline couldn't be less effective doing if he dug a hole each time and jumped in. During the past 3 years, he has 5 friggin' 1st downs in Miami's 171 pass attempts on 3rd & 8+, as well as just 2 TDs in Miami's 174 redzone pass attempts. Miami has 345 combined pass attempts in these 2 areas yet Hartline as a starter has just 7 conversions. That's pathetic for someone [strike]mis[/strike]labeled as reliable, dependable, efficient, etc who has been targeted 309 times since 2012.

I believe they will, but time will tell.

Yes, depends on when player cut as you stated. Just out of habit use the early number for the start of free agency in March until June comes around.

I don't know why Sportrac does not list prorated bonus of 1.4 per year as dead money after this year and their info doesn't add up, if there was no dead there is no 5 yr/7 million prorated signing bonus and all base salary without the bonus savings shown for the first 2 years of contract. But did miss Wallaces 3 million in guaranteed base salary in 2015 so he has much lower cap savings before June 1st, cut afterwards adds 4.4 more to 2015 cap space savings and 4.4 in dead money to 2016 as you stated.

Mike Wallace does not see extraordinary coverage. At this point, he doesn't even really see the reactions that were there in 2013, where teams would sometimes play it safe and frequently have a deep safety on his side of the field. He's not even being double teamed in that dubious and not particularly technical sense like he was last year.

I'm not really sure why you'd argue that Hartline is not performing, as it really isn't subject to argument at this point. The question is why, and if you're argument is that he inherently sucks you've got a bit more to add up there.

Yes, everything was GIVEN to him in 2010..... Even the DBs were nice enough to let him get 4-5 yards behind him.

Again, still not really any sort of argument here.

Not everything, just a very unique set of circumstances that are almost impossible to replicate.
