It's hard for you to believe that a Great Basketball player leaves Cleveland when he becomes a Free Agent? uh....oh...

Just caught some of the game last night and I'm excited to see what the team looks like as McBob gets more integrated with the offense. He made some nice plays.

Of course Luol Deng was brilliant. But I think if you've been paying attention to him over the years you know he's capable of that. I kind of figured that in this offense his three point abilities would climb back to what they were from 2007 to 2012.

Not sure how Dwyane Wade is managing to shoot 0.400 on threes but I'll take. That's probably got to be downhill from here.

Still my biggest concern for the team is potentially streaky three point shooting. I think with this bunch they could find themselves going cold that way and if they do they could be in trouble because it seems like a big part of this style of offense to pop players open for three pointers.

All they have to do CK, is shoot at least 25 threes a game, and shoot the league average (35%). That would keep their offense humming.

Currently: 23.1 Attempts per game. .370%

That extra year has meant nothing to many players, Bosh has opted out, Wade has opted out, Lebron... Hell Lebron Wade and Bosh have taken 3 year deals before. Dwight has gone to a team outright without a S&T which means he didn't get that extra year. Love will be going back home, to a team he grew up with, his family still resides in Santa Monica. I definitely see him leaving especially if fingers get pointed once the Cavaliers get eliminated by us.

I don't believe that report that Love is already planning to leave Cleveland for the Lakers. I always did find the notion that Love was 100% certain that he was staying in Cleveland despite the fact that his contract ends at the end of the year to be pretty humorous. You never know what can happen in a year, and if things don't go well, I don't see why he would stay there. Things could very easily turn around, they could be a legit championship contender, and he can love it there and sign an extension. But he could also hate it and leave. Nothing is holding him there. Certainly not some unwritten agreement.

Wouldn't be the first time, Boozer got the hell away from Cleveland the moment he had a chance after telling them he would re-sign with them and everything. I don't blame him, I rather live in the mountains of Utah than Gotham City.

I don't see why it would be shocking. It's possible Love was just like "Umm yeah I want out of Minnesota. Oh cool I can play with Lebron for a year in this crappy *** city, maybe win a title and then go where I want"

Truth is...no-one except Lebron James willingly lives in Ohio if they have other options.

Sam Smith didn't list a source or a reason. This is what he said -

He threw **** against the wall and the NBA Twitter clickz machine did the rest. Smith has been pretty awful for years now.

Maybe Love will leave. Who knows. In all seriousness, who has turned down that 5th year other than Dwight and LeBron (on this deal)? And he'd be doing so to go play with noted teammate of the year Kobe Bryant and the All-Star Lakers roster?

Many have turned down the 5th year.. Dwight and Lebron weren't the first to do it. I gave you a list of many players that have done it in the past, and Love could just take a deal like Lebron's and wait for the new salary cap in which players will get a higher max base salary.

LeBron Bosh and Wade didn't take 3 yr deals, they took 5 yr deals w opt outs after 3 yrs.

They each took three year deals to become free agents in 2010 and then join Miami. The idea was they could make more money in 2010, but instead signed discounted deals. The same could apply to Love, he might want to see what the new max money will look like.

I think we've got a lot more 3 point shooting than anyone, myself included, expected at the beginning of the year.

In our lineup, as true 3 point threats we have:
    Josh McRoberts
    Shawne Williams
    Chris Bosh
    Luol Deng
    Mario Chalmers

Guys who can get hot and hit them well:
    Ennis
    Cole
    Hamilton
    Bazz?

I am less concerned with our 3 point shooting than I was at the beginning of the season. Ostensibly, Granger will be doing well from beyond the arc at some point as well.

If Love goes anywhere IMO it will be LAL or NYK. LAL is obvious because he lives there/has family there etc. I believe NYK would be in play because he grew up watching those Laker teams lead by...Phil. He has Melo there waiting and could have Gasol or Monroe with him. Triangle is much more big man friendly then Whatever the hell Blatt is running there. It looks like a knockoff of what the spurs do but with more ISO

No. In the regular season, to keep the current high level of offensive productivity. if they do that...they guarantee themselves plenty of wins.

In the playoffs, for whatever reason, there usually is a jump in 3 pt. FG%, so league average can turn into 37%

So - assuming LeBron remains kinda meh, Durant hurt, Rose is gonna miss a bunch of games - who wins MVP this year? Bosh has an outside chance, right? Not even sure who else is in the running. Anthony Davis would be the favorite if he were on a playoff team. Steph Curry probably up there.

(I realize this is insanely small sample sizes but it's interesting with so many of the top players in flux)

I think Anthony Davis will finish with the most impressive MVP type numbers, but his team won't be good enough for him to win it. Lebron still going to be in the discussion, but if I had to bet early money, I'd bet it on one of the two splash bros, Curry the likeliest of both, specially since i believe the Warriors will finish with the best record in the NBA.

If Bosh keeps playing how he has, he deserves consideration regardless of how everyone else plays. Not saying he should win but he's been highly effective in every way youd want

Bosh has to be considered one of the top early candidates for MVP. He's playing extremely well.

So far, it's probably Anthony Davis and Chris Bosh as the top two. Way too early to start taking this too seriously, but those two are the standouts in my mind.

This is insane to say - but Cousins has been playing incredible and SAC is 5-2. He should be in the early discussions, as well.

Not insane at all, this early, Cousins absolutely deserves to be in the conversation.

For me, this early, my top 4 candidates are:

Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry, Chris Bosh and DeMarcus Cousins. In that order.

Durant and Westbrook should share the MVP in absentia.

Seriously. Look at how valuable they obviously are. OKC barely looks like a professional team out there right now

Hmmmmm, and this just in from Kawhi Leonard, “I don’t think I’m going anywhere. I mean they love me here. I like the organization, and if it was up to me, I want to finish out with one team like a lot of great players have done, to stay with one organization their whole career and just be loyal to that. You never know. We’ll see what happens next summer, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be in a Spurs jersey for my whole life.”

Interesting, didn't see that quote...but man did I see clips from the game he had last night, specifically the 4th quarter. Sweet jesus. Up and down the floor, totally dominated on both ends down the stretch. It was sick. Rare talent.

That is so rich. What makes it even sweeter is how ESPN slobbered all over a triple-double against the mighty Pelicans.

Wow I didn't realize that Shabazz Napier was instrumental in getting the NCAA to lift their food restrictions.

Evidently the night he won the NCAA championship, he admitted that he often went to bed hungry. This caused a big stir, and then the NCAA changed the rules.

I like him even more now.
