RT has put PLENTY deep passes in a place where the WR/TE has a chance to catch it...we simply haven't capitalized on them. I can remember at least 7 where had the receiver put forth even a LITTLE effort to fight for and make a play on the ball (and I don't mean Megatron-type effort) we wouldn't be having this conversation. We need to do them more often so RT can improve and the receivers get more used to them and can play them...that's the biggest problem with it IMHO.

i agree you can't do it only once a game. It's a low percentage play to begin with. That play John Brown in AZ did is also something Wallace will never do.

I'd really like to see at least 4 per game, not all to Wallace, wouldn't want him pulling a hammy.

except for the last minute, the D was as good as it could have been, all things considered. they played well enough for us to have beaten anybody. The O, however, kept us from beating nearly everybody. Why is it when we get on a roll, doing good things, then all of a sudden slam on the brakes with a game plan that has been so indicative of the past 15-20 yrs?

I really don't think that the people complaining about Tannehill's deep balls to Wallace watch any other NFL games (a little tongue in cheek). When you watch other teams, and see what other receivers do, Watkins, Brown, Johnson, Green, etc, you see receivers that have confidence in catching with their hands, and they do little things as the ball is coming in that allow them to snag these balls. Whether it's laying out for the extra yard to catch a ball (I don't want to hear Duper's lame quote again), or being able to stretch their arms out and make a fingertip grab, or whatever, it's things that Wallace absolutely does not do. I'd still like to see a replay of the overthrow to Wallace in the Detroit game, cause when I saw it live, it didn't look outrageously out of reach for Wallace, but he didn't even attempt to catch it. It looked like a yard or two when I saw it. I could be wrong. Seriously, though, go watch highlights, and look at the plays these receivers make on balls, thereby giving the QB confidence in them. I feel like Wallace has T-Rex arms when he's running these deep routes.

Tannehill didn't miss by much. Asking him to get much closer isn't fair. You are 100% correct imo. When stafford throws it up he's thinking he's got to hit a 15 foot radius, tannehill apparently has to hit a 5 foot radius 45yds away while being pressured. It's bull****

I want to see Landry on a deep ball. I know he's not a burner but he's a guy who will go get it.

Ya he's not the fastest, but he's the most disciplined, reliable of the bunch...already. He knows how to use his body as leverage and fight for the ball...that formula works.

I would credit Detroit with playing good D more than blaming us, I'm sure some would disagree though.

I watch as many games as I can, condensed versions of at least 6-8 games per week so Ive seen every team several times. You're right, Wallace is not a natural catcher of the football and he shares some of the blame. However the throw vs Detroit was all on RT imo. It's incredibly difficult to track a ball when it's thrown like that. You can see Wallace slowing down to try to find it bc he lost it as it was coming directly over his head. Had RT let him across the field Wallace could have run through the ball without breaking stride for an easy TD.

Very similar to what happened vs San Diego, RT scrambled left, had Wallace streaking across to the right behind the D. RT was under pressure to be fair, but he had time to check his rear view, see it was clear, set his feet and make a good throw. Instead he hurriedly threw across his body with no leverage and allowed the DB to knock the pass down. A good throw to the back pylon on that play is a TD, and yeah RT has the arm strength to do it.
