He's still rusty. There certainly haven't been big holes to run through up the middle. I won't rush to judgement quite yet either way.
I'm ok w/ the best 5 idea and if that means guard for Pouncey I'm fine w/ it. I believe he will only get better w/ reps.
The thing is though, is Satele better at C than anyone else we have at G? Would it suprise anyone to see Pouncey move to LG and see Smith back in at RG next week?
I don't think so. I'd give Billy Turner, Dallas Thomas or Sam Brenner a shot at LG while moving Pouncey back to C and Smith to RG.
Three more games with an interior OL of Colledge-Satele-Pouncey may cost this team dearly. I'm pretty confident he's MUCH better at C than he is at G.
Wow I admire his toughness but he should have told them during warmups or whatever that he couldn't play.
We can't afford another game of Colledge - Satele - Pouncey in the interior. We are throwing away our season doing that.
If that's true, then they kept him in 1 drive too many. After the 1st sack he should've been pulled. It was so clear how bad he was from the 2nd drive, I actually thought he was throwing the game. As in I thought he bet the Jags.
He may have been a top 5 C last year, but all the individual accolades (for an offensive lineman) resulted in 58 sacks. Again, not blaming Pouncey for that, I'm just saying, let's put the performance of the entire offensive line corps before individual acclaim; this is much less likely to result in a dead QB.
