http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000413497/Week-7-Dolphins-vs-Bears-highlights its at the one minute mark. Cossell who studies a lot of film, chose this play as the best qb play of the week, and best in Ryans career. Its hard to see from the tv copy but the play is to hartline on a clear out slant, hartline runs the slant, clay the quick clear out pattern to the sideline, and miller in the flat, Ryan looked at hart and clay and didn't like it, sense miller was covered I think peripherally, then went to wallace, the key to the play is that he must of been cognizant that his fourth option was wallace and more importantly the route he was running, because he threw the ball to the east while wallace was going west.
That play was one of the ones I saw that really gave me confidence 17 is about to take that next step. Thats a .."game is slowing down for you" kind of play.
This guest on Cowherd mentioned the td to Wallace as Tannehill's best play of his young career. Didn't catch his name, was that Cossell? That play was Brady-esque.
I agree that it was the best. Easily. That was a play only the elite QBs make using anticipation and patience going through progressions.
All in all it happened because he had ****ing time to throw. That is why I have held out hope for this kid. Hes been beaten around for 2+ seasons....nice to see him progress with a COMPETENT Oline. Who knows where he can go from here?
Funny thing is, I thought he had two of the best plays of his career against Green Bay as well when he broke the pocket avoiding the rush.
Love the subtle move he put on the safety on the 4th and one keeper Those announcers are idiots. Cam Wake strip sack and they don't even mention his name!!!
Agreed Sick. Also agree with Gardenhead. What I'm learning about Tannehill is that he may not be extremely evasive, but if you let him use his straight line speed....he is going to outrun just about everyone except corners and extrenely fast safeties.
brandon marshall was miked up for the game, he was sitting on the bench watching tannehill play, says to his teammate, ' jesus, he looks like aaron rogers out there going thru all his reads like that''
Watching the wallace TD play from the POV that lets you see tannys eyes goin through all his reads, easily one of the best qb plays ive ever seen, let alone just from tanny. amazing throw.
My favorite play of his was the play last week where he pump faked I think on a screen, and then threw a side arm laser to somebody. I can't remember the details, but it was nice to see him make an adjustment with the arm angle.
Yep..and he almost pulled that **** off as well. Ive searched you tube for it over and over..anyone who can watch that play and not know what we have is nuts
Funny part to me is that Tannehill's two best throws of this season, I thought both of them were throw aways.
Great article from SBNation on Tanny: http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/10/23/7043189/ryan-tannehill-miami-dolphins-offense
