Update: So, the surgeon actually called me and apologized profusely. He said it was his last surgery that day and before he could come talk to us he had to do something else, which lead to something else that when he was finished, he just left. He said he spaced and he's very, very sorry. I forgave him because its happened to us all. The interesting part is that he said he did not speak to anyone. He said he screwed up by leaving but he never spoke to anyone. So basically the twat hammer nurse lied. Then she further lied by telling her supervisor that she told us she would call the doctor and have him talk to us on the phone but we left. What really happened is that she told us there's no doctor to talk to us tonight and when we come tomorrow we'll just have to wait around until a doctor decides to come by. I told her supervisor I didn't want anyone fired but this is ridiculous and this nurse needs a talking to. I mean I get it, patient families have to be the worst thing in the world to deal with, but this woman needs to get checked.
Where I come from, you don't simply take off without talking to the relatives after a procedure. At the very least you leave messages on sticky notes all over the patient's body. That way they can see that you're not just an irresponsible jackass. As for the nurse, she could have handled this more professionally. Where I come from a nurse puts on a lab coat and hairnet, and boom, she's now the surgeon. I just want to give major props to the web hosting company HostRocket. The business I used to work for had two different hosting packages. We'll call them X & Y. I wanted to take over Y and just let X go away. My old boss gave m,e the wrong info and I paid the yearly fee in Sept, for the wrong package X. Got a new bill yesterday for Y package. I called them up and explained, the took the money I paid to X and applied it to Y and shut down X for me. Not only that but that left a credit for next year's bill as well. It really is an amazing company and they have out of this world customer service. I cannot recommend them enough.

depends on her reaction if you ask her not to do that anymore. people can make mistakes, it's how they act afterwards that I judge them on it.
