He definitely was Shouright. He never denied it, out questioned who that person was. That being said, there's plenty of people who are annoying and get under people's skin that don't get banned.

which skillful play was that?... allowing a 12 yard run to start the drive? falling down on a critical 4th & 10 throw to Nelson?... defensive holding on 4th & 1? ....Finnegan haphazardly playing 10 yards off Adams on the fake-clock to give him a chance to get out of bounds? ....Finnegan's lazy tackle attempt on Adams which let him stop the clock? Yes, incredibly skillful. As well as was the 35 rushing yards allowed on Green Bay's opening 2nd half TD drive.... as well as allowing Green Bay's offense to have the ball for 12 minutes during their first 3 drives of the 2nd half.

You said it yourself- "the unpredictability of a bouncing ball", so how can you say they made the skillful play to win the game when there's no certainty to a fumble that favors the defense? Did they recover the fumble? No.... so the play wasn't made to win the game. All they did was cause a fumble. Since you've already correctly pointed out fumbles are unpredictable, if Miami had recovered the fumble, it would've been by luck, which means they wouldn't have won by skill; they would've won by luck. Now, the sack itself was skill, but its 1 yard loss and prevention of offensive success on that down didn't stop Green Bay from moving chains on the ensuing 4th & 10. SKILL would've involved Finnegan being more aware with 6 seconds left during a clock attempt. SKILL would've involved Finnegan tackling Adams IN BOUNDS to win the game. SKILL would've involved shutting down the 4th & 10 attempt.

 

I'm not that mad, thats the point. Sometimes we don't have to find fault for why we lost, sometimes the other team just deserves the credit for winning. Rodgers deserves the repect, he played a fantastic football game. Our defense played great. Special teams played great. And the offense played great the second half. I'm not mad at the team, its the fans that are irking me. I wish we could all just call it exactly what it was "the ending felt like a kick in the balls but it was a great game."

Both QBs had the ball in their hands for the win. They won. Period.

imo, getting the sack on 3th down along with the strip, on the biggest play of the game, is winning, in my football terms, which is based all on beating your opponents in the matchup, aka skill... trying to get the bouncy ball afterwards is luck.

you are going to give up plays as a defense to the best qb in the game, he's exceptional..when the game was on the line for the first time on last drive, they won the play, when they got it to the next play to follow it up, the coaches fu""ed with their soul like ether.

 

Exactly, and if you do try to come back under an alt, it's probably not wise to continue the same annoying, antagonizing ways that got you banned in the first place. Everyone knows I got ban hammered.... but I didn't get banned for having a hissy-fit that involved taking a massive dump all over the forum in a blatant attempt to create havoc and ruin, and when I snuck back in, I minded my P's and Q's long enough to earn another stay- just 1 warning the past 18 months.

...and what was it that Finnegan did? Did the best QB in the game beat him on the fake-clock? No, he didn't. Rodgers specifically said the fake-clock was improvised because he saw how far off Finnegan was playing. That would have been a real clocked pass had Finnegan not brain-farted his way through the play. Then what? Then there's no easy 4 yard Andrew Quarless on Philip Wheeler TD. Instead, Rodgers would've had one final attempt.... from the 16 yard line, not the 4.

The coaches didn't call the TO before the fake-clock, so they didn't mess with Finnegan's soul on the play. If it's not bad enough that Finnegan played off to allow the fake-clock attempt, he allowed the quick pass to gain 12 dang yards and get out of bounds. That gets the C'MON MAN of the Game award. One good skilled play on the drive [the sack] doesn't make up for all the unskilled plays like allowing a 12 yard run on 1st down, falling down on the 4th & 10 conversion to Jordy, not paying attention during the fake-clock, not being able to tackle the receiver in bounds, and not covering the TE you're manned up against who does nothing special to catch the winning TD.

 

Ugh. That's all I can say. Ugh. Just consider yourself lucky to not have witnessed it b/c it was annoying as hell... and probably quite frustrating and time-consuming for the mods and admin to undo.

 

the play should of never happened...yes, it was a horrible decision by a corner..but thats what happens when you get 2nd and 3rd chances.

I agree much of the blame lays on the coach.... but the coaching staff didn't make Finnegan play off-coverage which in turn invited Rodgers to execute a fake-clock. If Rodgers is forced to clock it at the 16 yard line like he originally anticipated, what's to say Wake doesn't sack Rodgers on the next play now that a short pass to the TE is no longer an option? The defense genuinely could've had a chance to win the game, but Finnegan made sure that wouldn't happen.

 

I shouldn't be answering since I'm not a mod, but he was already banned, so the more appropriate question you should be asking is, "why should he be let back in?", especially after he took a Brontosaurus sized dump on this place to get himself banned in the first place. If Dolfans should "stick together" as you say, then they shouldn't be treating this forum as their own personal porta potty.

You are saying that it all comes out in the wash. You are saying that a bad WR corp does the same damage as a bad oline. Cam Wake can attack only one part of the line on a given play. Last year, our oline was so bad it was like Wake was attacking from the right, left and center of most plays. That effects a QBs success.

Stats tell us what happened, they do not tell us why.

We won there with an injured Jay Fiedler when we were underdogs a long time ago. I don't think that game is an automatic loss for us.

 

Ehh. There are only a handful of 4th down attempts every season. I'm more concerned with the 3rd down conversion %.

Not to further derail too much, but when someone has been banned from every fan site he posts on, perhaps there is a reason for it.

On topic, I'm disappointed that we simply aren't taking deep shots at all. I think taking 2-3 shots per game, even if we only hit one every other game, would still be a net plus.

Another year, yet the same handfull of posters making excuses for a QB that CLEARLY to this point has shown nothing more than occasional flash of being a franchise QB. It's the same vicious cycle that has been around since 1999. From Fiedler to Feeley to Henne to Tannehill you have fans who just don't WANT to see the reality....and that reality is Ryan hasn't progressed into the answer at QB.

The excuses are weak, it took Jason Allen being cut from the team before we stopped hearing how Troy Polamalu struggled for playing time in year 1 also....oh it was the position change, if he would've stayed at S he would be awesome!! Even myself used to try and find the good in Ted Ginn and defended him way more than I use to. Hell..we had posters acting as if Mike Wallace was holding Tanny back! Is that not comical as we sit here today?

What is it in our DNA that makes us latch on to a player when he is consistently hurting our football team? Why are we so defensive when the truth about his ability is evident to 80% of football fans everywhere? I dunno...maybe if a certain physchology major was here, he could answer.

 

That's very true...and I don't recall seeing anybody say he has...people want to see him with more time in this system, but nobody has claimed he was a lock as franchise.

He's shown some awesome play...and he's shown some garbage play...may main issue is his decisions at times...and the inconsistency. If he's, as you say, "consistently hurting our football team" then he's also consistently helping it...neither are true unfortunately.

Let's ignore the fact that most of the people "making excuses" for Ryan Tannehill has never claimed he was perfect, or the fact that most of the people "making excuses" for Ryan Tannehill have, on more than one occasion, pointed out mistakes without even an ounce of reluctance.

Dude, for the most part, no one is making excuses. A lot of people just don't feel it's right to pin the woes of the team on one player while letting other players off the hook.
