Here is a preliminary Post Week 16 Draft Order for the 2008 NFL Draft. There is still one game left in Week 16, the Chargers and Broncos play tomorrow night. For this preliminary order, I have given the favorite, in this case the Chargers, the win. If the Chargers do in fact win tomorrow night, then this order you are looking at is 100% correct. If the Broncos pull off the upset, then I will have to make some slight changes after the game. Miami has clinched the #1 overall pick. Enjoy, and feel free to ask questions if you want.
No problem. Also wanted to add this: Here are Miami's picks if the season ended today. This does not include the 32 compensatory picks that will be handed out after the season. Also, this is based on San Diego beating the Broncos tonight: 1st round (1) 2nd round (32) 2nd round (56) - From San Diego 3rd round (64) 4th round (96) 6th round (158) 7th round (190)
I'm so glad the 49ers won yesterday. Hopefully they can upset Cleveland next week and knock the Pats pick out of the top ten.
Yes, I pointed that out. Until the league officially releases those 32 picks, I can't guess what rounds they will be in.
Nice to have five selections in the top 100, but it still isn't enough. I'm very much in favor of trading down from the #1 pick to get more. Granted, you don't fix all the issues with the Phins in ONE year/draft, but with Brown back, some select FA players, and a good draft? I'd expect serious progress toward being a .500 team and out of the NFL cellar.
The Pats won't be out of the top 10..., even if SF pulls the upset vs Cleveland and all the 6 Wins teams lose, SF would only fall 1 spot down (9th overall), but if SF loses and all of the 4 Wins teams win their matchup on Sunday, SF would go to be the 5th overall... *They are currently 8th *We need them to win their matchup and Cincinnati to lose against our Fins on Sunday, so they would go to the 9th overall *If SF lose, we can expect that Oakland (SD), Kansas (NYJ) and Baltimore (Pit) lose their matchups also... IMO, the 49ers will lose, the same for the Raiders and Ravens, but the Chiefs will win, leading the Patriots to select with their 7th overall pick...
I am going to say 2. One compensatory selection in round 6 or 7 and one supplemental compensatory selection at the end of round 7. Though I am just guessing since we did lose more players then we acquired, so we will qualify for compensatory picks. While we may or may not get a compensatory pick, I am pretty sure we will get a supplemental compensatory selection. The trade for Trent Green was a 5th round pick that could have became a 4th round pick if he would have taken a specific amount of snaps. Since he was injured early and put on IR, we only have to surrender a 5th round pick.
Nubs, Say Washington sneaks into the playoffs and wins there first game and then play Dallas in the week before the Conference Championship Now shat if Washington beats Dallas. Where does Dallas drat since there are still 4 teams alive. Do they pick 28??
For this example, I am going to use the order and record the teams have now. Washington has the 20th pick before the playoffs and the Cowboys have the 30th pick. If New England plays say Green Bay in the Super Bowl and wins, New England would have the 32nd pick(which then would be forfeited) and the Packers would have the 31st pick. The Cowboys and Colts both are 13-2, so the team that lost in the early round picks first. Say both got eliminated in the divisional round, then the team with the worst SOS picks first out of the two. In that case, Indy would pick #30 and Dallas would pick #29. Unless Washington goes to the Super Bowl, they will still pick before the Cowboys even if they beat them.
