I personally think Harbaugh would make Tannehill into good QB... we wouldn't need to draft a QB high to win with Harbaugh.

This team is not making the playoffs.

I think there's a chance of playoffs with an interim head coach. But that's just me.

    I agree.

Hey my preseason prediction was 7-9 and I'm actually wondering if I shouldn't have gone for 6-10.

It all comes down to consistency. There is none anywhere. Coaching, QB, defense, O-Line, whatever.

Would be very similar situation to what happened in SF. He could turn Tannehill into Alex Smith, but eventually you're going to see an investment in a better one.

I get what you're saying. but the guys on any team aren't going to tank a season to draft some kid prospect like Winston or anyone else. Our defense still has pride, they played their hearts out yesterday. If they fired Philbin and the GM traded away a few of our best players, then you might have a shot at a top 3 pick. We are officially stuck in worst possible place. enough talent to get 6-7 wins and crappy pick around 15th in 1st round, but not enough talent/coaching to make the playoffs. fortunately for us, we've been in this position for most of the last 30 years.

Misread it, thought you were saying we would for sure lose that game.

As hot and cold as the Bears are (I get to see plenty of them because 85% of my family are Bears fans), I wouldn't be shocked if we beat the Bears. Chicago has struggled at home this year.

I would be shocked at 6-10. 7-9 is basically 9-7 with bad breaks so yeah. (That was my prediction. My specific prediction was 9-7 with the #6 seed)

I don't think a loss to the Bears would end our season. It would put us seriously behind the 8-ball but plenty of teams have come back from 2-4. I think a follow up loss to the Jaguars would end the season.

A loss against the Bears alone won't kill the season, but if you also account for the schedule ahead, it starts to look bad. Next 4 games are @ Bears, @ Jax, Vs Chargers, and @ Detriot, a loss against the Bears means you likely need to win twice in the next 3 games to rescue something, and Vs Charges and @ Detroit are going to be really tough wins to get.

Then you also have left @ NE, @ Denver and Vs Baltimore, on top of Jets twice and Buffalo.

Dolphins are deep in the hole already, another loss and they're almost buried IMO.

I thought going in we needed to at least split the GB/CHI series to give yourself a realistic shot at the playoffs.

As it stands now...we lost one game we should have won (KC) and won one we should have lost (NE). We gotta turn the expectation game in our favor. We gotta win as a underdog this season to make the playoffs. Why not vs. the Bears?

I know I'm skipping ahead to the Jags game, those 0 win teams or 1 win teams are the ones
That we lose to. Except the Raiders game, we could beat the Bears and lose to the Jags

If we lose to Jacksonville, not only should that be the end of the season, but the end of this regime as well.

I can see us wining against the Bears and I don't see us losing to the Jaguars . its the jets and Bills that will determine our playoff chances .

Denver = loss ,Baltimore = loss NE = ? Jets = ? Buffalo = loss I figure we split with the jets lose to the Bills and Lions so where does that leave us ?

This is a team that loses to teams we should beat all the time. It would be fitting if the first win of the season for Jax comes against us.

    Two reasons:

    1. Brandon Marshall
    2. Matchups

This is a bad matchup for us, especially on the road. Our defensive intensity won't be the same on the road, I don't think...and defense is usually a big reason we win.

You know what Brandon Marshall is capable of doing when he flips the switch. And he's going to want to do exactly that against Joe Philbin and the Dolphins. He's a bad matchup for Brent Grimes even when he's not turned on. Grimes' one weakness is to guys with his size/athleticism characteristics. And Finnegan's even weaker to size.

Lamarr Houston on Ja'Wuan James will make for some great entertainment. I'm curious how that will go. Branden Albert should easily have Jared Allen but could have trouble against Willie Young when they match up.

We went into the Packers game with a great running game, faced an extremely porous run defense, and the only thing we got going that way against them was one option run by Tannehill. Everything else was fail, fail, fail. That needs to get going again when we face Chicago. That's not optional.

I'd have fired him on the spot when he took that timeout on GB's 4th & 10.

No way in hell I saw Dallas go to Seattle and win. If they can do that..Miami sure as hell can go to Chicago and win.

Our team doesn't stand a chance against Chicago. Yesterday's loss was deflating, we had the chance to win and our coach failed his players. Chicago blows us out 34-10 and we rack up those 10 points in garbage time.

I saw Dallas winning, even picked +2.5 at the end of the third quarter, Dallas is not the clown show everyone makes them out to be, they have the best offensive line in the NFL and got talent galore everywhere.

I'm not a Philbin fan and I was apoplectic about the clock management yesterday, but the panic and fatalism around here is pretty ridiculous. We're 2-3 and a game out of first behind a team we already beat and people are claiming it will take a miracle to make the playoffs. That's just silly.

The misconception is that we had to tank to suck for luck, that's not what you do or ask from your players, that's ridiculous, it's about once you make the change at the coaching position, the interim coach gets the call from above to go young..then just sit back and watch.

It's like a front office sabotage.

Absolutely. Joe Philbin made the call to sacrifice some offense because he was scared that our defense would give up something kind of ridiculous. He did the same against Buffalo but that situation was so egregious that I think the defense took it as more of an insult to Tannehill and the offense than anything because it seemed like they were most afraid of the offense having a turnover. Philbin denied it but that's what it seemed like despite his denial.

Wasn't he on the fringe of losing the locker-room 3 weeks ago? I'm not defending him but we win against the Raiders (Who cares really) and the heat is off him.

Same thing with Cannehill. This second half against the Packers doesn't absolve him of everything else. He's still not a franchise QB and he's not our future.

The players may as well just tell the staff they prefer to forfeit the rest of the games, so the team gets a higher draft pick. Most of the good folks at thephins.com have deemed the season a total failure already, so nothing left to play for.
