Heat bench is a big question mark. It really boils down to a few players regaining their form or not. It could go anywhere from a poor bench to a really plus bench. I think Chalmers might be a bench player this season. Think Spo is going to go with Norris Cole as his starting PG. So bench is going to be likely Chalmers, Brown, Ennis, Granger and Birdman. Sprinkle a little UD and a little Shawne Williams, maybe a little Shabazz if he can adapt quick enough. So there is potential for a good bench there, but needs Chalmers and Granger to get back to their best, and Brown to be a spark.
Granger has looked good as well. Chalmers and Birdman are good but not great. I'd say we have a good bench. Maybe the very definition of good actually. If Wade and Bosh play how we need them to, thing are going to be just fine.
Looking pretty suave...
Kyrie in a walking boot. Team says it's nothing serious. Team also said Varejao's injury 2 years ago was nothing serious and then he almost died. So Kyrie might almost die.
The indication seems to be that Brown will be the primary backup at SG as well, but hopefully Ennis is who we think he might be and they don't need Brown. He's coming off of surgery (on his toe or foot I believe). He may not be back by the beginning of the season.
Cole/Chalmers. I don't see either as playing more than the other. If Granger plays well its pretty good. However a lot depends in Ennis. Damn he looks good though. Flying Death Machine 2.0
You have taken this entire Lebron thing waaaay too personal brother. Let. it. go. A majority of your posts in this thread still scream butthurt over Lebron.
McBob is shooting for the regular season opener. The Heat notoriously NEVER hurry players back, so who knows.
I could honestly care less. Its basketball. It has no impact on my daily life. There is nothing wrong with disliking him within the confines of basketball and wanting to beat him. Wish him the best in life, but yes on the court some revenge would be extra special.
On James Ennis.... The Good: A) Great Athlete. At 6'-8"+ you really have to go to Durant, George, Lebron to find athletes on par or superior to him. B) Can Shoot. C) GREAT one on one defender. D) Can flat out RUN E) Handle has improved. The Bad: A) No part of his mental game is developed. B) He blows assignments free lancing. (This can hurt him with Spo) C) Mediocre passer. D) No Midrange game. E) His handle is best one on one, you trap him....he has no handle. I like him a lot....but he is a little off from being Khawi Leonard. Now..can he be him? That's the plan in time.
i think Cole will probably start and Chalmers will just be the "back court backup" and play 30-35 minutes per night for both Cole and Wade
I'm just not nearly as high on Washington or Toronto as everyone else. Feel like we should shift some of that attention to Atlanta.
Just when Heat fans were beginning to forget, Brian Windhorst can't help but remind you why he is a douche of the highest order: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11668059/lebron-james-awkward-preseason-reunion-heat In case you can't stomach the entire article, I've sifted through the sewage to bring you these "hot takes" from the child stalker turned ESPN "personality" Just read the bolded portion. This man seriously wrote that and ESPN published it. And no bleep it's tough to look Riley in the eye after you stabbed him in the back and wasted his time making him schlep to Vegas. If you don't want these uncomfortable moments King James then stop acting in such a way that makes people hate you when you leave. **** you Windbag. Seriously.
Stephen A. Smith, who was at Wade's wedding, just said on First Take that Bosh and Lebron were talking and seemed to be getting along just fine.
lel. If someone owes LeBron a drink, and maybe a first born child too, it is Windhorst. Dude would be a creepy fat bastard without LeBron. At least now he is "ESPN insider, LeBron correspondent" creepy fat bastard.
It's funny because Cavs fans think Windhorst has been over-the-top negative about them, too. What's weird is how far he's fallen. I can't decide if he used to be good and suddenly changed or if he's always been like that - but that article was awful. He didn't even quote an anonymous source or anything to lend credence to what he was saying. He just came up with an idea and worded it six different ways and hit publish. The entire thing was written like a drunk guy at a bar trying to convince you of his crazy opinion. "It HAD to be weird at that wedding, right? You know they're all thinking it." Just a really weird piece. (Side note - I'm super uncomfortable that I got kinda turned on by that Elsa pic CK just posted)
.LOL At your last sentence. I don't know about turned on but I did that "That's kinda hot...what types of sites is CK frequenting?" I also thought the snowflake on the panties was a potleaf at first. I was like "wtf is this?"
Trust me...the Cavs fans are the ones wrong about this.... Windy is a HUGE Cavs homer. Admitted it on the Lebby show. His exact quote is that "You can take what I say about the cavs the same way people take what you say about the heat...I like that organization as much as you like yours." Almost verbatim.
Just crazy how much he's been wrong about this year. Remember when he said LeBron and Kyrie didn't want to play together or that Kyrie wasn't going to sign his extension? He went from being dead on every piece of Cavs news to being way off. He also thought they should've traded Dion Waiters for Pau Gasol last offseason. Just...seems to be throwing crap at the wall.
Um. Did Windy just write the exact same article today as he did yesterday? Gotta get them clicks, I guess.
LeBron still thinks he's on the Heat.
I only got to see a few minutes of the game last night. How'd either team look? Pretty excited that Waiters seems to be excelling on this Cavs team.
Let's just say for the Heat, we need to see what McRoberts brings to the table because right now we look like a 5-8 seed. I know its early, way early, but it feels like we don't have enough on this team to compete with the likes of Cleveland, perhaps Chicago, Washington and Toronto. I'm just not sure, even when McRob comes back, that we'll have enough weapons on offense. Even on D, who's our shutdown guy? Deng? I think we need more shooters to spread the floor, more perimeter guys. We seem to have a bunch of athletic guys but none that can help relieve Wade and Bosh. Deng will have his moments, Chalmers will occasionally have it dialed in, McRob can facilitate the ball and knock down some jumpers. But beyond those guys, who? Granger is a huge ?, Shannon Brown/Shawn Williams are nothing special, Napier is raw but has a low ceiling, and Ennis, who looks promising, might be headed to the D-League. I know it's only preseason, but its looking like this Heat roster has alot of holes.
I agree but in a way also disagree. Like you said its WAAAAY too early. Wade and Bosh aren't getting up for a preseason game regardless of who its against or where it's played. That sort of thing impacts everyone. If Granger and Ennis are good..we will be very good. If they aren't...we will struggle.
