I don't really have anything against him.

But, assuming these rumors are true, I think one has to wonder why a coach of a team that has made multiple NFC Championship Games over the last few years would be available for trade.

 Doesn't cost anything to dream, but he is less likely than Malzahn or Harbaugh, as is Gruden IMO.

I would take another 4 years of Rich Rod before I take one more GAME of Hoke. Hoke won the Sugar Bowl with Rich Rod's players. Hoke now has his own guys in there and they all suck. He's not coaching them up or putting them in positions to succeed. He is the most clueless coach I have ever seen in my life. He makes Philbin look like Lombardi. I knew it was a bad sign when the guy refused to ever wear a headset during games. What kind of idiot head coaching philosophy is that? This Saturday he actually played Shane Morris while he had a concussion. Morris couldn't even talk or see straight. Then this idiot had the nerve to say he still thinks they can win a championship this year at his press conference. IN WHAT WORLD?

If Aponte gets both Ireland and Philbin fired, lol wow....

then again it could be all for naught if her presence prevents us from landing the coveted candidates for GM.

His flying spit could be mistaken for ocean mist...

I have often thought that this group of players could use a fiery type of coach. I think the "us against the world" thing probably helped them a little bit this week, no matter how that came about.

I'm still curious as to why you think there's 0 chance Harbaugh comes to Miami in the offseason.

And if you think he's not in Miami in 2015, where do you think he winds up?

I've seen a good amount of posters/Dolphin fans saying they want Harbaugh nowhere near this team, and I simply cannot figure out why.

To me, Downplaying Harbaugh's accomplishments and coaching abilities enters into "Russel Wilson isn't really that good" or "Tannehill could do the same things as Russell Wilson with that team" territory .

The problem is, the thing you are expressing is not anger, it's uninformed paranoia.

Harbaugh hates the Niners, and they hate him.

Plus, I am fairly positive that Ross would make him one of the highest, if not THE highest paid coach in league history.

Until I see Miami mathematically eliminated from the playoffs this season, I'm not going to concern myself with there being a coaching change at all. It seems to me that some fans hope we lose this year so Philbin will be fired and replace with Jim or Gus or ABP (anybody but Philbin). I derive more enjoyment from my fandom by having hope we win enough games over the course of the season to make the playoffs, and when that is no longer a possibility then I'll think about who the next coach may be.

If I had to bet right now, I'd say Harbaugh is still in SF in 2015.

There's a perfectly good unused Gus Malzahn just waiting to be purchased. I don't necessarily like the idea of trading for coaches unless they express interest. I want guys that want to be here.

Joe Philbin is better than Harbaugh, or any other coach Dolphins can get. Joe Philbin is the one. He's a tremendous HC.

Do people understand that he coached a team to the Super Bowl and two NFC Championship games? Maybe people may not like him due to the reports that came out today regarding his strictness (highly unlikely) but he's obviously a great coach. He took a 5-10 Singletary team and turned them into a 13-3 Super Bowl contender with Alex Smith at the helm the very next season. Another good comparison is "Tom Brady is a system QB". I'd take a system QB and three rings any day.

And that's what worries me about Harbaugh. Some of the best coaches have had trouble finding lighting in a bottle twice so his success with Miami is far from guaranteed. You couple that we the fact that he seems to be a very polarizing person and it sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I guess Harbaugh is a sensational NFL HC. But just for 1 to 3 years. He can inspire talented players to be great. But I also guess, that his personality leads inevitably to problems - sooner or later.

I think part of the problem is him butting heads with the FO. As the Dolphins are currently constructed, it wouldn't work. (Can you imagine Aponte and Harbaugh getting along?)

If you bring Harbaugh in, you give him whatever he wants. I'm not saying I'd be in favor of that, mind you, but it's clear that's what would have to happen.

I think if Ross really wants Harbaugh he needs to slow play his hand and let the situation in SF deteriorate more if it's going to do so.

That's fine. But everything you just said doesn't mean Harbaugh has 0 realistic chance of becoming the Dolphins head coach.

You rooting for the Dolphins to succeed has no effect on whether he becomes our coach or not. And MrClean not concerning himself with who the next coach will be at this point in time also doesn't mean he won't become our head coach in the future because you and I both know when the Dolphins miss the playoffs, which is likely, Ross will make it his #1 priority. That's not 0 chance.

And no, fans(at least most of the ones I read on here) aren't rooting against the team for Harbaugh. But it's evident that Philbin isn't really a top coach, and after not making the playoffs for 6 years straight, I'd say that trend is a safer bet to continue than not as well. So, why not at least discuss the possibility?

I'm not a big fan of La Canfora and his rag style leaks. But if Harbaugh can salvage Alex Smith's career, imagine what he can do with RT17?

And to the collective who don't want Harbaugh because they think "he's a total deusch", thank the football gods you do not matter.

In the meantime, that chubby, lazy eyed mongrel La Canfora has brought unwanted attention to our team. And if Ross is dumb enough to tamper with the HC position again, while having someone in his employ, that proves to be a colossal problem in ineptitude.

****ing mike and mike were talking about this with Danny Kannell.......all three of them said it almost with certainty, that Jim would/will end up in Miami.....all I am thinking is Philbin is employed and 2-2.....

this is the kind of **** I and we don't want nor need in the middle of the season 1/2 game from 1st place.

About 45 years ago things between the Baltimore Colts and Don Shula went sour even though Shula had brought the Colts to two championship games and won one of them. The inestimable Shula began secret negotiations with Joe Robbie of the Miami Dolphins and agreed to a contract. The newly merged NFL deemed that those negotiations were tampering and assessed the Dolphins a 1st round pick.

It's a good thing most you guys weren't around back then to talk about what kind of red flags it raises that Don Shula is about to switch teams despite having had such success in Baltimore.

Cause if not, then it's not comparable.

Players "hating" playing for him, sucks. I really don't know if that's a good idea to bring into our locker room. Players talk to eachother.....if Vernon Davis calls Mike Wallace and is like "good luck with this mother ****er...."....it's going to paint a bad first impression no matter what.

He's a great coach. Maybe it changes him for the better with the players? Who knows.

I'm getting tired of the prevailing attitude that all of these things like Harbaugh being a great coach, Philbin made the biggest mistake ever last week, and poaching players form a team before playing them are all considered to be absolutes and questioning any of these things is treated like the person is just stupid.

    Its getting annoying.

Fact of the matter is, this is a running narrative. That means the media are going to listen to the players that have beef with Harbaugh. And there's never really any shortage of players that have beef with their head coach. It's been cited before but there are forever players on NE that hate Belichick. Hell, Brady may be one of them. Tom Coughlin damn near had a player mutiny on his hands before winning two Super Bowls. If you were listening to Tiki Barber, then all the players in the Giants locker room hate Tom Coughlin and they all think he's a bad coach.

It's all about who you listen to and right now the unhappiness between Harbaugh and front office has become a narrative, so the press want to hear from the players that hate him. So they will hear from those guys. And those guys will make it seem like everyone hates him, and not just them. And then they go out and beat an unbeaten Chip Kelly squad.

Keep waiting, I am going off what any of us know. Yes he's a good coach, but if he brings baggage that will suck. Not to mention we'd have to do this under Philbins nose again, which played out awesome the first time with Sparano. Whats the end-game here?
