Harbaughs reaction when Ross calls and says "Hey Jim, wanna leave San Fran and come to our historically rich franchise in Miami?"
at this point i think ross will make Harbaugh the highest paid coach in the league...after what might be his first season missing the playoffs no less...
Got to hope it's a 2nd and not a 1st. For people saying this will never happen. Harbaugh has apparently pissed off a lot of people in the front office at the 49ers. Additionally, players in the locker room have also said that his coaching style is wearing on them.
if Nick truly wanted to be here, that might have been true. I think a lot of us agree that this would only work if Harbaugh truly wants to be here.
So you're saying that teams should never go try to hire successful college coaches because Nick Saban was a failure? How's that working out for Philadelphia?
I must admit that I am very biased when it comes to Malzahn. Been following the guy since his high school coaching days when I played against his teams as a player in Arkansas. Got a chance to go to his coaching clinic when I became a coach later on. In my opinion, he's the best football coach in the nation. He's won at every level he's ever been at with subpar talent compared to his opposition. Of course he is known as an offensive guru, but people fail to realize that as a major DI Head Coach in his first 3 years, he has the 3rd best record in college football, only behind Saban and Meyer (who both have wayyy more talent). He makes his players believe they are better than what they really are. They buy into his system. That is the toughest part of coaching....getting players to buy into what you're selling.
It has some eerie similarities. His whole family and life is on the West Coast....has been for awhile. Michigan gives him endless possibilities for high-end recruits. Longer shelf life, more control etc. Miami is struggling and looking to probably over-pay to bring someone here who isnt here for the franchise and what it brings, the opportunity etc but for the money. A "too loyal" owner, that will pay for anything, and will get easily pushed aside when a better opportunity opens up after struggles.
Harbaugh would certainly require a trade for a draft pick if Miami wanted him before 2016. So for 2015, would you prefer Phiblin and Hickey for another year, or Harbaugh but be without a high draft pick (probably a 2nd)
How long would this last? if he disn't want to be here before, what's the use. He coaches out his contract and leaves. If he doesn't want to be here in the first place, I doubt he'd coach with the same fire. Potential bad move, IMO.
After Harbaugh comes here, I wonder if the Miami beat writers will suddenly turn into truth dealers of the highest order.
In a perfect world, this would be an awesome move. But since it's the Dolphins, you could almost guarantee it'll blow up in our faces. And I don't like this in the middle of the season.
Seems like just about every move blows up in the Dolphins' faces. Maybe they should start taking the Costanza strategy?

I sense she sees the writting on the wall and is going to distance herself from him as much as possible. Shows her real character. Shes all about power and control. Hope she goes with Philbin.
An NFL coach can quit to take a college job any time he wants to. The Ravens aren't letting him go to another NFL team unless their mess gets worse.
All this Malzahn/Harbaugh gibber jabber. If/when Philbin gets fired, and Harbaugh moves to Michigan, Miami will be all set to hire legendary coach Brady Hoke.
Yes! Ross should try to court Harbaugh again while still employing his current coach. That didn't blow up in his face last time whatsoever.
Agreed. I don't see Harbaugh and his family having any interest in moving to South Florida. As far as Malzahn is concerned, I doubt if he has any real interest in being an NFL head coach. It wasn't many years ago that he was just a high school head coach. He probably has his dream job right now and I can see him staying at Auburn for many years to come.
lmao. that will be the day I convert to an eagles fan. hoke is quite possibly the worst thing to ever happen to that university.
There are practically no similarities between Nick Saban's situation and Jim Harbaugh's situation but I guess Nick Saban is a useful argumentative tool so he gets trotted out and breezed around the track every now and then.
Am I the only one would be a bit concerned that San Francisco, who's been rather good over the last few years, would be willing to trade Harbaugh away?
