There's a good chance the game might be against coach fist pump. Allen is already on the hot seat. Mort & Scheft reported he may get fired after london but after their loss today idk...
I would fire him tonight and promote Lazor to interim and begin openly shopping for a HC. No point in waiting till the end of the season
I've never been a 'fire them now!' type of guy, but I think I have just seen enough from Joe Philbin. Enough is enough. Mr. Ross, you're the only one who can make it happen.
Kinda doubt it...they competed with the Pats WELL at Foxborough. Had a chance to win it actually...bad bounce landed in Fat Man's hands to seal it.
No way you fire him after week 4 in my opinion. No better way to seriously deflate the players and staff. I mean if you really care about the team you get through the season and evaluate things based on the past 3 seasons. Knee jerk reactions seldomly ever pan out for the better. Tampa Bay supposedly got their savior at HC and they are 0-3. I know Philbin has been here 2 years longer than Lovie has been there but that performance they had against the Falcons was hard to watch. No one blaming Lazor? I mean we were 3-0 last year at this time with Sherman as the OC.. Yeah I just went there.. My point is, we have to have a wait and see approach. We finish this season worse than 8-8 then Id say there needs to be serious talks about if we move on with a whole new regime. Even at 8-8 I might be willing to keep him depending on circumstances. Have to do a fair evaluation. Better coaches have had worse records.. Was wondering if KC is thinking of firing Andy Reid. There are a lot of teams with the same record as ours right now. Packers, Broncos etc..
Forget about Cowher, I don't see him ever wanting to get back into coaching. As much as I would love to see Harbuagh here next year, I just don't see him leaving the 49er's. I think he will work out his issues and if not, I think there will be better opportunities in the NFL if he does decide to leave the 49er's. I think the Giants may be looking for a new HC after this season and Harbaugh would probably jump at the chance to coach in the Big Apple. Miami just isn't a job the top tier coaches and GM's seem to have any interest in anymore. Hopefully that will change in the future, but I'll be surprised if Ross can make a big splash with his next head coaching decision.

I seriously doubt it. A lot more goes into this type of thing. It's not like fantasy football where you just dump a guy and pick up a new one for next week.
James Walker ✔ @JamesWalkerNFL MIA's Joe Philbin: "We're 1-2 right now. We gotta get back to work. We're going to have to circle the wagons. We have to play a lot better." Fire him now!
I'm not sure I want Bill Lazor in his current position, much less promoted to interim head coach. Kevin Coyle would be the logical choice. He's a long term, experienced coach who reacts to what he has and what is occurring on the field, and Mark Duffner can step in as a DC.
Exactly how many cliches is Philbin going to use in an attempt try and avoid the obvious? Which is, he has no idea how to fix the problems with the team because he is a lousy head coach.
I'm down on Philbin as much as anyone right now, but why are we analyzing his post-game comments. It's coach speak. The only thing I care about is what he does behind closed doors, not what he says to the media.
If the players are disgusted, and Ross is unsure if Philbin is the guy, then dump him. Either reinvigorate the team, or let it ride. I backed Joe until now, I've seen enough to know he isn't the guy I want leading my squad into battle. The debacle at the half of the Buffalo game was the crack, this game was the break. I hate the wait and see attitude with this, it's his 3rd year, he's shown us time and time again: He doesn't motivate well, makes poor indecisive decisions, coaches scared and holds his players back, no intensity as a leader, and loses the locker room if we are to believe sources. Why wait? So we can be 8-8? I hate losing, and don't want to tank. But I would rather know we are making progress, and making changes that will make this organization better for a long stretch. This is like a slow death, stuck in the quicksand of mediocrity with a leader who looks scared, and coaches scared.
So how are the 0-3 Bucs and Raiders better? After tomorrow night there will be 13 teams at 1-2. So why have you deemed the Dolphins to not only be worse than all the rest of them, but also two winless teams?
He has this season to prove he is "the man", it sure looks like he's not. Let him play out the season, I don't see why you should fire him during the season, it's not like we have a coach on the team we would like to have as a long term solution. Before the season the goal was the playoffs, if he doesn't make it there (which seems obvious right know) fire him and then clean the house and start all over again.
It makes no sense to fire Philbin now. If he gets the team going there will be no reason to fire him. If he doesn't, let him finish out the season, which will both prove that he deserves to be fired and that Ross is a stable owner, and let him go one day after the last game. It will look better that way to coaching candidates worth having.
