OK OK...we took our annual azz-whoopin' up at RCW...time to move on.

KC is 0-2, losing bad in week 1, and holding Denver close in week 2. They seem to have lost a lot of players to injuries like we have.

    Thoughts?

I still think the Chiefs are better than what we think. They held their ground against arguably the best AFC team. It's still early in the season to tell how good a team is. But if Miami plays like they did today, you mind as well chalk up a loss no matter who we play.

I think Miami bounces back, and get a ugly win.

It's not going to be an easy game. I'd expect a close one.

Jamaal Charles & Eric Berry left with an ankle injury.

No excuses about losing Moreno. Chiefs have talent but good teams find ways to win, especially at home. Still expect a tight one even if Charles and Berry are out.

I just don't want another cardiac game like we're so used to getting last year. I mean, I'll take a win however we get it, but I want to see the offense come out with a chip and something to fkn prove! They definitely need to put last game behind them and move on...too many mistakes in ALL phases of the game. I wouldn't say most of them weren't the types of mistakes you expect to keep happening (mainly on STs), but the dropped passes gotta stop. The bad throws / taking a half to warm up for RT needs to stop.

    Scheme that sh*t Lazor!

I expect at LEAST a jump out to 14-0 for us...give our D a chance to tee off and take a lot of pressure off.

At this point, I'm guessing Williams/Darkwa will be getting a lot of action at back...I like those guys, and I think Williams is already better than Miller. Get the kid some reps and feed him.

Has anybody really watched KC this year and have an idea where we match-up well?

    Keys for the game:

    1. Ryan Tannehill plays faster and throws more accurate footballs.
    2. The team doesn't come out completely flat and jerk off for 3 hours.

We hit on both points, I like our chances to win a tough game.

Ya they're down some OL starters, and down some skill positions (like we are). Doesn't seem they have any strong run-stoppers on D, maybe advantage us there.

Buffalo is a tough place to play. Their home opener and Jim Kelly was there. They were fired up. We ran into a buzzsaw like that against Indy when Pagano was going through cancer. We lost to them and didn't know what hit us.

This is the only key that matters IMO, If Tannehill can hit the receivers in stride or at least not so far behind we can win against just about anybody.

Agreed! For us to win, he needs to make plays! He averaged only 4yds/pass against the Bills, which isn't going to cut it. The wideouts are getting open...he needs to put the ball where they can get some YAC and maybe even SCORE A FEW TOUCHDOWNS!

I think that falls under category #2. For as much as people are ripping on Tannehill (and I did not like what I saw today for the most part), I think the one man most responsible for today's debacle was Joe Philbin. From top to bottom, we looked like a football team that was just clocking in for a paycheck. Embarrassing.

if this :crapstrom: continues through the first half against KC, time to sit Tannehill & start a QB that's excited about playing the game & can motivate the team... Matt Moore!

enough is enough. the bench might do him some good. personally, I think he's seeing ghosts on the field after last seasons beat down.

two games in & he looks like a back-up not a franchise QB, very disappointing.

Their OL is a mess. Jeff Allen was the starting RT, and I heard he is out. Wake should have a field day, but really this could well be a good chance to really pad the sack stats for all our guys.

I'm not going to lie, I'm worried about this matchup next weekend. I know KC is down on skilled players and WR's, but our LB unit is still destroyed, and as a result I'm worried that Jamal Charles will have a field day with us running, or catching passes out of the backfield.

We need a better game from Tannehill, and Lamar Miller has to run the ball well.

I think our DL should have Alex Smith running for his life against their OL though.

It's going to be a close one I bet. Those close ones usually go to better quarterback, better head coach. That's not us I'm afraid. I think we can do it, but everything has to go right.

The Chiefs and Alex Smith are tough as nails..... They're a very well coached/very prepared team. Now I know why they paid Alex Smith that money, he is this era's Steve Young.

I don't think the Broncos are anywhere near as good as last year and I think they miss and regret letting Decker go (and of course they miss Welker), but with all the injuries the Chiefs have gone through, I think they've lost 6 of 22 starters already, the Chiefs still held their own and kept Manning in check.

This game won't be easy, it'll end a one score game, and hopefully we come out on top.

might not have to worry about jamal Charles. they are banged up at RT as well and their defense has taken a few hits as well.

We're fortunate to be getting them at home. They're tough at Arrowhead. Though I was surprised how close they played Denver IN Denver.

They're not exactly the greatest vertical passing team you'll ever see. Lots of RB out of the backfield kinds of things, they'll probably attack the LBs alot in coverage with Charles/Davis. They don't have the wideouts to beat you too bad on the outside. Though Travis Kelce has been REALLY intriguing for that offense. Tough matchup there.

Defensively they were just really sound yesterday. Nice anticipation and paths to the football, sure tackling. They can play a nice physical brand of defense when they're clicking.

I would be fairly confident about the Chiefs game. But this team has burned me before for being confident in games and then having them turn out poorly anyway.

It's very strange that they played so much better on the road in Denver than they did at home against Tennessee.

But really you look up and down and they just have a bad roster especially with some of the injuries they're dealing with.

2 weeks EJ Manuel and Geno Smith look night and day better than ryan

Let's fix the biggest problems first. The ones that should be so obvious. Special teams and the offensive line need to play a good game.

If an only if that happens, next let's worry about the running backs. They are our third problem area.

If by some miracle they play above average, then we can worry about the fourth problem in the priority list: wide receivers dropping a plethora of balls.

Finally, we can worry about the fifth one on the list. That would be Tannehill. Just in case my position is not clear. You are worrying about the wrong problems.

I don't think Geno Smith looks that good but EJ Manuel, I've been saying it since the beginning of the offseason the guy has been just as good or better than Tannehill's rookie season, his stats says so, not shocked that he's performing well even if he's just a game manager so far in the first two games. Nobody here wants to believe it though, they think the Bills will always be on the bottom just because they're the Bills. lol

KC gets their pressure on qbs from their DEs...I like our tackles to hold up fine their. Brandon Albert knows allot about how their defense works..and their offense for that matter...so I see that being very useful. Jamal Charles has a high ankle sprain..so even if he plays..will def slow him down.

I like us going away and winning the game by 14.

Our offense came alive the second half against Buffalo..and had us in good shape to go for a win. Look for an angry Dolphins team to exert their will on KC.

    Chiefs corners:
Sean Smith has been targeted 11 times, allowed 9 catches. 2 TDs
Ron Parker, targeted 11 times, allowed 7 catches
    Marcus Cooper, 9 and 7. 1 TD
    Chris Owens, 12 and 10. 1 TD

PFF rates them the 3rd worst team in pass coverage. 8th worst overall defensively.

Also, rated the 2nd worst offense. FWIW.

    http://www.nfl.com/fantasyfootball/...ticle/start-em-sit-em-quarterbacks-for-week-3

Start 'em Sleeper alert - Ryan Tannehill vs. Kansas City Chiefs: If you're desperate for a quarterback or need to start two each week, Tannehill is worth a look this week based on his matchup against the Chiefs. After two weeks, Kansas City has allowed an average of over 20 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Also, Tannehill has thrown six touchdowns in his last three home games vs. the AFC.

    Sit 'em
Alex Smith at Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins defense is more than formidable against quarterbacks, allowing an average of just 11.47 fantasy points to the position in 2014. That includes holding future Hall of Famer Tom Brady to a pedestrian 10.26 points in Week 1. What's more, Miami has allowed multiple touchdown passes just once in their last nine home games. This all makes Smith a prime sit.

    [h=3]Start of the week
Knile Davis at Miami Dolphins: With Jamaal Charles (high ankle sprain) out of action, Davis will take over the featured backfield role for coach Andy Reid. That's huge for his future fantasy appeal and makes him a virtual must-start runner in Miami. In their last nine home games, the Dolphins have surrendered 130-plus rushing yards six times to go along with nine rushing touchdowns.[/h]Mike Wallace vs. Kansas City Chiefs: A little home cooking is just what Wallace needs to produce strong totals for your fantasy team. In his last four games in Miami, the veteran has scored one touchdown and produced a pair of 100-yard performances. The Chiefs pass defense is a mess right now, which just adds to Wallace's value from a fantasy standpoint. Get him into your lineup.

We really need a big bounce back game from Tannehill, for many reasons. He does seem to play better at Sun Life so I'm optimistic he can get it turned around on Sunday.

This may be a little of a trap game for them also. To beat their huge division rival, travel, injuries and then get the heat of So. Florida it might just add up to the perfect storm kinda like Boof was.

I disagree with you on your keys. I pointed it out in another thread. The history of this team is undisputable; if we rush the ball at least 25 times...whether we have monumental success or not, we will win.

If we abandon the run and rely on Tannehill to throw 40+ passes, we're dead in the water

It's frustrating that they were actually able to mostly get it going in that Carolina game and then... nothing.

Brent Grimes says that Alex Smith's ability to extend plays could be a problem for Miami.

I think E.J. Manuel's mobility could have been a much bigger problem that it was, if Manuel didn't have this awful habit of playing like such a wuss. Honestly. I always praise quarterbacks for refusing to take unnecessary hits, but he goes too far with it. He'll step out of bounds like 2 or 3 yards short of the sticks on 3rd down because he MIGHT get hit. Or he'll scamble, then step back and throw a terribly inaccurate pass to a receiver that's barely open even though he's got 7 or 8 yards of open space in front of him.
