Philbin on his team last year going to buffalo to clinch a playoff spot.. Hmmmm, that's about as vague as it gets.. They got shut out last year so I'll say something wasn't right with their heads alright. The mindset of a pro football team after a huge emotional win..couldn't get it up I suppose is the best way to describe them.. There some veterans on this team that need to get pissed off, Philbin needs to do some coaching to get these dudes to play with the juice, I want to see about 50 Knowshon Morenos out there..
I'm not sure how much of that was their emotional state. It was a horrible gameplan, against a team built perfectly to smash them, in terrible weather. It sucked. The good news is that Sherman is gone, the OL is much better, and hopefully Ryan and the rest of the guys have learned some important lessons that they can put into practice on a beautiful September day instead of the gloom of a Buffalo December.
We could see that they really clogged running lanes against the Pats. I think their QB has probably gotten better this year, but if ever there was a game to have your DL and LB's make tackles this will be it. EJ Manuel won't beat us. We have to hope that Tannehill doesn't throw a pic or fumble against the Bills, because they are ball hawks.
To me, our key is Knowshon Moreno, he sets the tone on offense Think the D will be fine, we will give up rushing yardage, we are not really designed to be a stout at the poa type of D.
Seriously, this team has shown a habit of the letdown, they better of learned their lesson and I'm holding the vets on the team responsible because some of them have been here long enough to let it happen, so they better be the ones to have the juice. So check it out, Sammy Watkins has Brent grimes on his list as 1 of his top 8 corners in the league, also said finnegan can really play, " he's a dog" the tape says. I wonder if we will come after the young skillset players, Watkins, woods, Manuel, or kick back and only rush four or five.?
yes sir, I just call them two out because they are the vets of this defense and I've seen them do nothing during our letdowns.. Earl Mitchell is a dog, and I'm on the record for wanting to let Solai go way before he actually got signed, I thought we needed to go in no new direction as far as skillset, and loved the Mitchell signing after watching his reps with Houston. 26 years old..4.7 40...300 lbs..motor that doesn't stop..very good get off, just an active player, it ain't always pretty, but he's got juice Ro.
Those last 2 games are still stuck in my craw.... We better be in smash mode. I hate Pete Carroll, but there is something to the Mantra "compete".
I thought we won at the POA against NE. We dominated on both sides of the line. I saw the way we were stopping the run in the first half and I was very confident we were squarely in that game at halftime even down 10.
No reason they shouldn't come out on fire. At this point of this season, there's no reason to doubt Philbin. Last week, they went into halftime down and came out on fire and dominated and beat down and won against the Patsies. Last year, the OL completely s--t the bed against Barfalo and Tanne did not have a great game. The OL appears vastly improved. As far as the team being pumped for the game, At this point, I don't think that should be a concern. We'll see.
Not the best time to play them IMO. First game in buffalo since Kelly, Wilson and the sale of the team ensuring they stay on buffalo. They are gonna be PUMPED for this game.
The fans will be...and they'll be drunk before kickoff, so they'll be rowdy. Most of that don't translate to the field...mainly the fans, they're more invested in Buffalo than the players. They don't really have any long-time, big-time Bills.
It's not December there, and I'm pretty sure we hate going there when it's cold, so dealing with tremendous crowd noise is an obstacle yes, but to be a good team, a playoff team, it has to be something your mentally tough enough to deal with.. For this game the correct mindset is what Moreno displayed, if he can inspire the juice into as many players possible, that pissed off, don't talk to me attitude, is exactly what we need..this guy may be more valuable to us then just toting the rock, we might be looking at a MVP type season in progress. Ellerbe, jones, Jordan, Pouncey, Misi..missing five players of that caliber is not easy to overcome
Our offense is sooooo...drastically different then last year....it will be very suprising to see how the Bills defend us. One thing I know is..if they try and defend us like last season..they are gonna get stomped.
We are a difficult team to defend as you cannot take one thing away. O-line and running game seems legit, while our pass attack is too good to put 8 in the box. I do think we need to key on Their run game though. Let EJ beat our veteran secondary. This could be the difference. Sent from my iPad
I'm somewhat superstitious as the last time we wore aqua in Buffalo Miami lost on the TNF game. Granted, that was with the old logo/uniforms. I'm just going with what the Bills site said, so hopefully that was correct.
they actually wore the Nike matte finish ones that nite, it wasn't our original aqua back then, they were a beautiful jersey.
I don't listen to anything Bob Griese says lately, except for when he advised Philbin to show the dolphins last years game of the shutout..he said to talk about it, and that should do the trick..lol
Let's hope so. MAN...I want a win this weekend almost as bad as I wanted last weekend. Difference is last week I felt it was a sure thing, even down at half.
I'm zero percent superstitious. And since the team insists on wearing the whites at home, even when there's no advantage to be gained, and since they've removed almost all aqua from those uniforms, I'll take what I can get. Even if I don't like the new, lighter shade even half as much as the darker one that I fell in love with as a kid.
Thanks for this. I went to the Bills twitter feed before because I had a hunch they would be wearing white but they didn't post anything about it. I'm so pumped we get to wear aqua tomorrow!
To each their own. I made sure I bought a Tannehill jersey in 2012 so that I could have one in the color that I like. Love the new logo, hate the color switch. The Marino/JT/ZT shade of dark aqua will always be the Fins for me, and is my favorite color. So much so that the wall behind my TV in my living room is painted that shade.
