I wouldn't pay $500. Don't think too many other would. Every year I call and get it lowered. At a certain point it's just not worth it. At $100 I'm in cause it will cost me more to go to the bar to watch the games (on the left coast here all they force feed you is Raiders, Rams and Chargers - bleh). Plus don't like to be at a bar at 10am every Sunday. Its just a little too barflyish. At $150 I'm wavering. Aything over $150 and I'm out.

But it is cool to be able watch the games on your phone. When you're at your kids game and its a blow out.

Agreed. Directv will give away the farm if you push hard enough.

I just got out of contract and called cancellation. ended up with the Ticket Max for free, $30 bill credits for 12 months and 6 months of HBO/Max and showtime with an HBOGo code.

Amen. It's kind of like buying a new car (if you really HAVE to have a new one). YOU are in control of the transaction, YOU don't have to settle for their price. YOU shouldn't pay a dime more than 75 to 80% of sticker.

    Agreed.

The whole of the Cable/Satellite industry should work this way. There are maybe 20-30 Cable TV stations I am ever interested in watching - would love for someone to come in and offer an a la carte option. If they opened up real competition in the industry (instead of regulated monopoly) it would be just that way. I'd be happy with something along the lines of drug companies (they get a window of sales opportunity on a new drug; then it goes generic and anyone can produce it). Let that happen with those who lay out the cable or offer satellite options. Then open it up.

It really is ridiculous the way the system works now.

There has been a lot of research on the topic, and everything I've seen indicates that a la carte likely will cost as much as the entire catalog of channels.

You guys pay for cable and direct tv? You know you can get tv online, right? HD?

I really hate Sunday ticket... sucks its coming back. Its unfair for those of us who want football and don't want DTV's ****ty service. Which is why I'll continue to watch streams for free and renew NFL rewind.

I really like DirecTV and called to tell them I was leaving them for Comcast since they were giving me such an awesome deal with my internet. I ended up getting NFL ticket and MLB Pass for free for a year.

Folks. I will solve all your issues with this post -

    Get a private VPN (privateinternetaccess.com)
Set your location with the VPN to the UK (London)
Go to NFL Game Pass, sign up ($100+ for season).
You are set for the season.

Every time you go to watch each week just make sure to turn on your VPN before you log into nfl game pass.

You now don't have to worry about directv.

LOL, they're good people mostly (though the ones who like politics are the polar opposite of me, as it almost everyone else here), but I have nothing in common with them. Even after a decade with my wife, the only topic I can really have a conversation about with her family is the kids.

I called Directv last night 9/8 and ask them if there was anything we can work out. I told them I was hurting for cash right now and I didnt ask for anything. They came back and told me that they would do a $15 credit each month for a year and give me the 2014 Sunday Ticket for free. That works for me.

I'm not giving up fios internet and TV for Sunday ticket. Just have to find an online stream and work with NFL Network/Redzone. Plus the NFL Redzone on my phone since I usually work Sundays. It's annoying but this is the way it is

That's how I feel about it too. I have FIOS and I have no reason to change. Anyway, I can't get DirecTV HD signal because of all the big oak trees in my yard and my neighbors' yards.

I would love ala carte system. I never watch most of 700 channels available and I don't speak Spanish, Korean or any tother language that is included in my package.

That sucks. I was hoping this deal fell apart and the NFL would start to offering online streaming to the US market the way they do for the rest of the world.

We just moved and some jack off technician came out to install our DirecTTV and started yammering on about drilling holes in walls and wires all over the outside. I told him to **** off and cancelled. I'll miss the Sunday Ticket that I usually got for free, but sick of paying for tv I don't need. Bought an HD antenna and that paired with Netflix, I'm all set. I just don't enjoy the NFL enough anymore to pay over a thousand dollars a year for direct tv.

Would be a nice to have the option of a la carte, to choose which games u want to watch for a small fee or a team, Although this season
I am getting Sunday Ticket for free, but the option is still nice to have.

I have very mixed feelings here. On one hand, I love the Sunday Ticket and I've seen every Fins game for the past 4 years....when I hadn't seem them consistently before then for almost a decade. On the other hand, I think Direct TV hurts the game because people can't keep up with their favorite teams without buying into the monopoly.

Honestly, if the league allowed us to choose which game we wanted to watch at 1 PM and 4 PM every Sunday, they'd probably have 10x the viewership and the sponsors would add up to more than this deal. Note that I'm not saying to give everyone access to all games- just let them pick one for each time slot and then that's the ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox channel they get for the next 4 hours. The technology is in place to have interactive television as well, but I guess it's easier to sell out the fan base and collect that big check at the beginning of each season. An alternative would be to let me just purchase one team's games from Direct TV for like $59-99 a year.....I'd do that over having all the games in a heartbeat.

So I guess at the end of the day, I love Direct TV and I love seeing my Fins, but I hate the Sunday Ticket and how the NFL says, "Screw you!" to almost 80% of their fan-base. Until it's affordable for every person to be able to watch their favorite team, I just don't think it's a fair practice.

I like the idea of "Dolphins only" games at a reduced price. They probably have projections that show this would be less profitable though.

Ftr, I have the ticket's wireless deal on my computer and early on it's solid, you can go back and forth to games and no issues. For whatever reason, it'll freeze up routinely later in the game and I'll have to **** around with it like any other stream.

I don't think I'll do it again next year. Disappointed someone like Google didn't get a chance to get the rights and do it better.

I watched (while hiding my eyes sometimes), the Bills game on my laptop while visiting my parents last year, and the quality was suprisingly good. I expected it to be a lot choppier than it was. I may watch parts of games on my cell phone this weekend when I'm up there again and see how that looks.

I had no issues streaming to my phone last Sunday when I was down in Charlotte visiting my brother. Also, I streamed over 4G LTE, not wifi, as I was in a car, and the quality was quite good.

I have Sunday Ticket streaming..its good. Sometimes I get a freeze in action.and I have to refresh.

Its not as good as preseason game pass which was in HD. For what they charge..you should get HD streaming..but..

Im shocked the NFL doesnt do their own streaming ala cart online....so many people cant or wont go the directtv route..
